Your Pilgrimage, Our Responsibility

Join us on this spiritual journey, how to prepare for umrah or haj , to fulfill the rites of the umrah.

State your intention to put yourself in ihram.

"I answer your call, O Allah, by an 'Umra'

"LABAYKA ALLAHUMMA BI 'UMRA",

The ihram is a state of sacralization that all Muslims must adopt before performing UMRAH and haj. This state must be respected throughout the duration of the rite. The ihram presupposes a change in your behavior and actions, but do not get me wrong, you will only reach the true state of sanctification when you formulate your sincere intention to perform the UMRAH or haj and recite the prayer of the talbiyah. Thus, someone who puts himself in a state of sacralization without being sincere has not accomplished his ihram correctly. Men and women enter sacralization differently. Read on for more details.

For men: shave, comb, shave or trim facial hair, cut nails and shave body hair. Take a bath or wudu (wudu) with the intention of entering sacralisation, but without using toilet water or perfumes. To sincerely repent of the sins committed.

Dress with an ihram garment that consists of two pieces of plain white cloth. Wrap one piece around your waist and cover your upper body with the other. Just wear sandals or flip-flops that do not cover the backs of your feet. Do not cover your head. These simple clothes signify the equality of all before God. Thus, the wealthiest of kings and the poorest beggars wear similar clothes during the hajj.

For women: As for men, women should shave body hair and wash, wash, avoid using perfume, etc. They must not wear makeup or use cosmetics. However, apart from sandals that remain mandatory, women do not have special dress to wear during the ihram. They can wear their usual clothes as long as they are clean and modest.

Declare your intention and recite the talbiyah. The sacred places of pilgrimage are surrounded by a sacred boundary called Miqat. Pilgrims can not exceed this limit if they are not in a state of sanctification or ihram. When a pilgrim in the state of ihram introduces himself to the miqat, to one of his six historical entrances, he pronounces the niyyah which is a short statement of his intention to perform the UMRAH. Before leaving the miqat, the pilgrim recites the talbiyah, a prayer he will often repeat during his pilgrimage. The words of the talbiyah are as follows:

"I answer your call, O my Lord, I answer your call, you who has no partner, I answer your call. Praise, grace, and kingship belong to you, you who have no partner. "

"Labbaikal lâhumma labbaik, labbaika la charīka laka labbaik, innal hamda, wan ni'mata laka wal moulk, the charîka lak"

If on reaching the miqat the pilgrim is not in a state of sacralization, he must enter ihram before passing.

Note: the Sunna wants us to cross these passages and to enter the religious buildings of the right foot.

Complete the rites of the UMRAH: The entrance to the sacred mosque

Head to the Ka'bah which represents the most sacred place of Islam. When you arrive in view of the Ka'bah, look at it and stand among the crowd saying "Allahu Akbar" (God is the greatest) three times, then say "The Ilaha Illallah" (He does not there is no other deity than Allah). Recite other sacred verses if you wish. Bless the Prophet Muhammad peace be with him and humbly offer your prayers to Allah. It is a propitious and favorable time to pray and implore divine generosity.

When entering the compound of the Sacred Mosque of Mecca, it is recommended to move your right foot forward and say:

"In the name of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon the Messenger of Allah; O Allah, open to me the doors of Your mercy; I take refuge with Allah, the Majestic and with His Noble Face, His ancient power against the banished Devil. "

Bismil-lâh, was-salâtu was-salâmu alâ rassûlil-lâh, allâhumma-ftah lî abwâba rahmatik. A'ûdhu billâhil-azīmi wa wadjhihil-karīmi wa sultānihil-qadīmi minash-shaïtânir-rajīm.

Complete the rites of UMRAH: Tawaf

Complete tawaf. Tawaf or circumambulation is a ritual during which Muslims revolve around the Ka'bah. Before starting, the men should check that their ihram outfit is secure so that the piece of cloth that covers the upper body passes under the right arm and covers the left shoulder while leaving the right shoulder uncovered. .

Then move to the right. Move closer to the Black Stone, the eastern corner of the Ka'bah and if possible embrace it. If you can not get close enough to kiss her, touch her with your hand. If you can get close enough to touch or kiss her, carry your hands to your ears and recite this short prayer: "Bismi'llah Allahu akbar wa li'lah al-hamad" (in the name of Allah, Allah is the greatest and to him are the praises). Do not push others and do not fight for a chance to touch the Black Stone.

To fulfill the rites of the UMRAH: As-Safa and Al Marwah

Run the sa'ey. The word sa'ey means "run" or "make an effort". In practice this consists of going back and forth seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwa, which are respectively north and south of the Ka'bah. Originally, this walk was done in the open, but nowadays, the journey takes place in a long covered corridor.

Arriving at the top of Safâ, recite:

As-Safa and Al Marwah are really among the sacred places of Allah. So whoever makes a pilgrimage to the House or does the Oumra does not commit sin by going back and forth between these two mountains. And whoever does a good work of his own accord, then Allah is All-Knowing, All-Knowing. [Surah 2 Al Baqara: verse 158]

Inna-Safa wal-marwata min sha'a-iri Allahi faman hajja-lbayta awi'tamara fala junaha 'alayhi an yattawwafa bihima waman tatawwa'a khayran fainna Allaha shakirun' aleem

Then, climb Mount As-Safa, but you do not have to go to the top of Mt. Climb just a little bit and then balance yourself, place yourself to face the Kaaba and say three times: "Allahu Akbar"; Then, you will say:

"There is no deity worthy of worship but Allah alone; no partner with Him; to Him belong kingship and praise, and He is omnipotent. There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah alone, He has fulfilled His promise, rescued His servant, and defeated the Allies alone. "

"Lâ ilâha ilal-lâhu wahdahu la sharifka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shaï'in qadir, ilâha illal-lâhu wahdahu andjaza wa'adah, wa nassara abdah, wa hazamal-ahzâba wahdah."

You will repeat this evocation three times by making between them the invocations that you desire among the goods of this world and of the hereafter. If you limit yourself to a number lower than this, no one will reproach you in-cha-Allah. Raise your hands only at the moment of the invocation; you do not have to raise them when you proclaim the greatness of Allah three times.

Then go down from As-Safa and head to Al Marwah walking normally, alluding to Allah and imploring Him for your good, that of your family, your Muslim brethren using invocations that are you easy. At the beginning of the green mark, you have to "run at high speed", according to your abilities, until you reach the other green mark. Then, you walk normally again and continue your journey until you climb Mount Al Marwah. When you have arrived at Al Marwah and the Auras, place yourself in the direction of the Kaaba and repeat the invocations and evocations as you did in As-Safa.

Always in this same way, start again this course to reach the seven turns starting with As-Safa to finish at Al Marwah. So, your departure from As-Safa to Al Marwah counts as one turn, and your return from Al Marwah to As-Safa for another round.

Shave your hair or cut it. After completion of sa'ey, men must shave their head or cut their hair very short, both formulas are acceptable but shaving is preferable. However, a man may not want to shave his head during the UMRAH if he intends to perform the rite of haj a few days later, because this rite also includes a shave of the head. On the other hand, women should not shave their heads, but they can cut a lock of their hair or cut their hair and shorten it by a few centimeters.

The UMRAH ends after the haircut and the restrictions of the ihram are lifted. You can resume normal activities, wear your usual clothes, etc. However, if, like many pilgrims, you decide to perform the Haj pilgrimage in the following days, know that to be able to do this, you must enter the Ihram state again.

Perform Haj Rites: Ihram

Put yourself in Ihram again and declare your intention to do haj. Most of the pilgrims who perform the pilgrimage of the tamattu 'have a few days of rest between the UMRAH and the haj and therefore for reasons of comfort, they leave the state of sacralisation after the execution of the rites of the UMRAH. However, like the UMRAH, the haj requires to present oneself to God by being pure and submissive and therefore the pilgrims must return to a state of sacralization before beginning the haj. As mentioned above, wash, wash and wear your ihram garments. When you are ready, say another niyyah:

"I answer your call, O Allah, by a Haj"

"LABAYKA ALLAHUMMA BI HAJDA"

Recite the talbiya thereafter, and do it as often as possible. The rite of Haj lasts five days, from the 8th to the 12th Dhu al-Hijjah. You must keep the ihram for three days and refrain from doing the prohibited activities until the end of this period.

Perform haj rites: Mina

Head to Mina. During the first day of the haj, the pilgrims go to Mina, a city near Mecca where they spend the rest of the day. On this site, the Saudi government has installed amenities in the form of a multitude of air-conditioned white tents to house the pilgrims. During the first night, no special ritual is planned and therefore you can devote your time to prayer and meditation with other pilgrims if you will. Several pilgrims choose to pray the dhohr, asr, maghrib, isha and fajr.

Note that in Mina, men and women are in separate tents and adjacent to each other. Thus, the spouses can remain in relation, however it is forbidden for men to enter the tents reserved for women.

Perform Haj Rites: Arafat

Go to Arafat and complete the waquf. During the second day of the haj, the pilgrims go to a nearby mountain named Arafat. They must arrive there during the afternoon to perform the rite of the waquf or the stop at Arafat. From the beginning of the afternoon until sunset, the pilgrims gather on the plain and spend their time praying and meditating.

Stand in the direction of the QIBLA by raising his hands to make invocations and the TALBIYA. The best word to say in the afternoon of Arafat's day is:

"There is no deity (worthy of worship) other than Allah, Alone, without associate, to Him belongs the sovereignty and to Him the praise, and He is Capable of all things.

"THE ILAHA ILLA ALLAHOU WAHDAHOU THE CHARIKA LAHU, LAHUL - MULKU, WA LAHU AL-HAMDU, WA HOUWA 'ALA KOULLI CHAY IN QADIR'.

Complete the rituals of haj: Muzdalifah

Pray to Muzdalifah. After dusk, the pilgrims head for a place called Muzdalifah between Mina and Arafat. In this place, they offer God the evening prayer and sleep under the stars on the ground.

The next morning, pick up pebbles (a size a bit larger than chickpea grains) that you will use to perform the rite of "stoning" or ramy later in the day.

Complete the rituals of haj: Ramy

Perform the rite of ramy at Mina. Before sunrise, the pilgrims return to Mina. There, they participate in a ceremony that symbolizes the stoning of Satan. The pilgrims successively throw seven pebbles at a stele called Jamrat al Aqabah, saying Allahu Akbar at each throwing.

The pilgrim must make sure that these pebbles fall into the basin (AL-HAWDH), and for that we must approach them, without upsetting their brothers. No need to use force when throwing.

Complete haj rites: Hady

Sacrifice an animal. After the ramy ceremony, it is obligatory to sacrifice an animal (Qurbani) in honor of God. In the past, each pilgrim made the sacrifice individually, but today it is more common to pay the amount of the offering and to have a voucher in exchange. This good means that an animal will be sacrificed on your behalf. After the sale of the vouchers, a trained staff will slaughter a sheep for every pilgrim or camel for seven pilgrims, it will parcel the animal, pack the meat and send it to Muslim communities around the world to feed the poor.

The sacrifice of an animal can be done on 10,11 or 12 Dhu al-Hijjah. If you are obliged to delay the execution of the ramy, complete it before making the sacrifice.

Perform Haj Rites: Finalize Haj

Shave your hair or cut it. As for the UMRAH, pilgrims have to cut their hair. Men get shaved their heads or cut their hair very short and if a man has chosen to have short hair during the UMRAH, he can opt to have his head shaved, but it is not mandatory. Women can cut a braid from their hair, but they do not shave their heads.

Complete tawaf and sa'ey. As in the UMRAH, during the haj the pilgrims must perform the rites of tawaf and sa'ey at Ka'bah and on the neighboring hills. The rituals are performed in the same way as for the UMRAH, but it is strongly recommended to perform these ceremonies after the rituals of stoning, sacrifice and haircut.

The completion of tawaf and sa'ey marks the end of the state of sacredness and you can resume your usual activities that were previously prohibited. At the end of the third day, return to Mina and spend the night there praying.

Restart the ramy ceremony after twilight on the fourth day and the fifth day. In Mina, you have to participate once again in the stoning ceremony. This time, you will not throw pebbles only at the Jamrat al Aqabah, but also at other steles, the Jamrat Oolah and the Jamrat Wustah. First, throw three pebbles to the Jamrat Oolah, then glorify Allah and summon him by raising your hands. There are no special invocations to say and so do yours. Repeat the rite for Jamrat Wustah. Finally, throw your pebbles towards the Jamrat al Aqabah. Afterwards, you will not need to make invocations and you can go home. Repeat this ritual on the fifth day after dusk.

Complete Haj Rites: Farewell Tawaf

Complete the farewell tawaf. Finally, you have reached the end of your pilgrimage. To mark the most important religious experience of your life as a Muslim, complete the final tawaf by walking around the Ka'bah seven times as explained previously. When performing the farewell tawaf, meditate about the thoughts and feelings you experienced during your pilgrimage. Glorify Allah and beseech him.

Note that foreign pilgrims must leave Saudi Arabia on 10 Muharram, the first month of the Muslim calendar.

Hajj and Umrah should not be undertaken lightly or afterwards. In the past, it was not unusual for pilgrims to perish on their journey to Mecca. Today, modern means allow millions of Muslims to travel quickly and safely to and from holy places. However, this trip must be considered with the seriousness and dedication of the pilgrims of old. Study the rites of hajj and UMRAH, begin to detach yourself from earthly things and above all express your repentance for your past sins that will be forgiven during your pilgrimage. Learn more about Hajj

As with all rites of Muslim worship, hajj and UMRAH must be performed with sincerity and devotion to Allah. They can not be done for the purpose of gaining recognition or material advantage here below. The hajj and UMRAH must be undertaken in accordance with the words and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as described in the sunnah. Learn more about Umrah

Speech on Water

1st Speech on Water (25 Min)

Speech on Water

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening Everyone,

It is an honor to speak to you today about one of the most essential elements of our planet, water. Water is the foundation of life, and without it, nothing can survive. It is essential to sustain all living organisms and is an essential resource for agriculture, industries, and households.

Water is the most found substance on Earth, covering 71% of the planet’s surface. However, despite its abundance, only a small percentage of water on earth is usable for human consumption. The majority of the water on earth is in the form of saltwater, which is not fit for drinking or irrigation purposes. Therefore, we must manage the available freshwater resources efficiently to ensure sustainable development.

Water scarcity is a growing concern globally, and the problem is not only confined to arid and semi-arid regions. Even countries that have ample water resources face challenges in the equitable distribution of water among all segments of the population. The global population is increasing at an unprecedented rate, and the demand for water is also increasing. Water security is a significant concern in many parts of the world, and it is essential to address this issue before it becomes a crisis.

Water is essential for human health, and inadequate access to clean drinking water can cause various diseases and health problems. Water is also critical for agriculture, which is the primary source of food for the world’s population. Without adequate water resources, farmers cannot grow crops, and food shortages can occur, leading to malnutrition and starvation.

Furthermore, water plays a crucial role in the global economy. Industries rely on water for various purposes, including cooling, processing, and manufacturing. Water is a critical input in the production process, and without it, industries cannot function. The economic cost of water scarcity is enormous, and it can severely impact the overall economic growth of a nation.

It is essential to adopt a sustainable approach towards managing water resources. Governments, civil society organizations, and individuals must work together to ensure the efficient use of water resources. We must also promote responsible water consumption practices to reduce wastage and ensure that everyone has access to clean and safe drinking water.

In thh end, water is an essential resource for the survival of all living organisms, and it is our responsibility to manage it sustainably. We must work together to address water scarcity and ensure that everyone has access to clean and safe drinking water. Let us all commit to using water wisely and efficiently, and promote sustainable practices to ensure a better future for generations to come. Thank you.

2nd Speech on Water (20 Min)

Speech on Water

Water is one of the most essential resources we have on this planet. It is the source of all life and is vital for our survival. Yet, despite its importance, we often take it for granted. We turn on the tap, and water flows out without a second thought. But the reality is that access to clean water is a privilege that not everyone enjoys.

Today, I would like to discuss the importance of water and the challenges we face in ensuring that everyone has access to it.

First and foremost, water is necessary for human survival. We need it to drink, to wash, to cook, and to grow our food. But it’s not just us humans who depend on water. Animals and plants also need water to survive. Without water, our entire ecosystem would collapse.

Unfortunately, not everyone has access to clean water. According to the World Health Organization, around 2.2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water, and 4.2 billion people lack access to safely managed sanitation services. This lack of access to water has a significant impact on people’s health, education, and economic opportunities.

In developing countries, women and children are primarily responsible for fetching water, which can take up to six hours a day. This not only prevents them from going to school but also leaves them vulnerable to health issues due to the unsanitary conditions of the water sources they have to rely on.

Furthermore, the lack of access to clean water can lead to the spread of water-borne diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and dysentery. These diseases can be fatal, particularly for children under the age of five. In fact, water-related diseases are responsible for 3.4 million deaths each year.

So, what can we do to ensure that everyone has access to clean water?

1. We need to recognize that access to clean water is a fundamental human right. We need to prioritize providing clean water to those who lack access, particularly in developing countries. Governments and international organizations need to work together to create policies that prioritize water security and invest in the necessary infrastructure to provide clean water to those who need it.

2. We need to be mindful of our water usage. In developed countries, we often take water for granted and waste it without a second thought. We need to recognize that water is a finite resource and that wasting it not only affects our environment but also takes away from those who desperately need it. We can do our part by fixing leaky taps, taking shorter showers, and using water-efficient appliances.

3. We need to invest in water conservation and management. This includes investing in rainwater harvesting systems, improving irrigation techniques, and promoting sustainable farming practices. By conserving water, we can ensure that we have enough water to meet our needs and the needs of future generations.

Finally, water is one of the most essential resources we have on this planet. It is necessary for our survival, and everyone should have access to clean water. We need to prioritize water security, be mindful of our water usage, and invest in water conservation and management. By doing so, we can ensure that everyone has access to this fundamental human right and preserve our planet for future generations. Thank you.

Speech on Water

Today, I am honored to speak to you about one of the most precious resources on our planet – water. Water is essential for all living beings and is a fundamental need for life. It is a vital resource that we must protect and conserve for future generations.

We all know that Earth is a blue planet, and water covers about 71% of its surface. However, what many people don’t realize is that only 2.5% of that water is freshwater, and only 1% of that freshwater is accessible for human consumption. With the world’s population growing rapidly, the demand for freshwater is also increasing, and it is vital that we use it wisely.

Water is essential for many aspects of our daily lives. We use it for drinking, cooking, bathing, cleaning, and agriculture. The importance of water in agriculture cannot be overstated. It is a crucial resource for farmers, and they rely heavily on it for crop production. In many countries, irrigation accounts for the majority of freshwater use. It is crucial that we ensure that this precious resource is used efficiently to sustain agriculture and prevent food shortages.

The scarcity of freshwater has become a significant problem in many parts of the world. Water scarcity occurs when the demand for water exceeds the available supply. Climate change, population growth, and poor water management are all factors that contribute to water scarcity. In some areas, people are forced to walk for hours to collect water from a nearby stream or well, which is often contaminated and unsafe for consumption.

Water pollution is another critical issue that affects the quality and availability of freshwater. Pollution can occur from both natural and human-made sources. Agricultural runoff, industrial discharge, and improper waste disposal are just a few examples of human-made sources of pollution. Natural sources of pollution include sedimentation, organic matter, and minerals. Water pollution affects the quality of freshwater, making it unsafe for human consumption and harming aquatic ecosystems.

To address the water crisis, we must take collective action. We must work together to conserve water and protect it from pollution. Governments, businesses, and individuals all have a role to play in ensuring the sustainability of this vital resource. We must also educate people about the importance of water conservation and the impact of our actions on the environment.

Water conservation is the most effective way to address the water crisis. We can all play a part in conserving water by making small changes to our daily habits. Simple actions like turning off the tap while brushing our teeth, fixing leaky pipes, and using a broom instead of a hose to clean our driveways can go a long way in conserving water. We must also encourage the use of water-efficient technologies in agriculture, industry, and households.

At the end, water is a precious resource that we must protect and conserve. The water crisis is a complex issue, and it requires collective action to address it. We must work together to ensure that everyone has access to safe drinking water and proper sanitation facilities. Let us all do our part in conserving water and protecting it from pollution. By taking small steps, we can make a significant impact and ensure that future generations have access to this vital resource. Thank you.

Speech on Water

Dear fellow citizens,

Water is an essential resource for all living organisms. It is the foundation of life and is required for basic human needs such as drinking, cooking, and washing. Despite its importance, however, access to clean water is not available to everyone. As a result, it is our collective responsibility to conserve water and ensure that it is available for generations to come.

Water scarcity is a global issue that affects millions of people, particularly in developing countries. According to the World Health Organization, 2.2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water, and 4.2 billion people do not have access to proper sanitation facilities. This situation is exacerbated by climate change, which is causing prolonged droughts and extreme weather events that can damage water supply systems.

Water conservation is critical to ensuring that this precious resource is available for everyone. There are many ways to conserve water, from simple measures such as turning off the faucet while brushing your teeth, to more significant efforts such as implementing water-saving technologies in agriculture and industry. These efforts not only help to ensure that water is available for everyone, but they can also reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

In addition to conservation, we must also address water pollution. Water pollution is a significant threat to both human health and the environment. Industrial activities, agricultural runoff, and improper disposal of waste can all contribute to water pollution. We must take steps to reduce water pollution by implementing stricter regulations on industrial and agricultural activities and encouraging proper waste disposal.

We must also recognize the importance of water management. Proper water management involves managing water resources sustainably, ensuring that water is allocated efficiently, and that there is equitable access to water for all. This requires the involvement of governments, communities, and individuals. By working together, we can create sustainable water management practices that will benefit everyone.

Finally, education is key to promoting water conservation and sustainable water management. We must educate ourselves and our communities about the importance of water, the consequences of water scarcity and pollution, and the steps we can take to conserve and manage water resources. This can include school programs, public awareness campaigns, and community outreach.

Speech on Water

Ladies and gentlemen,

Water is a vital resource for life on Earth, and we must cherish and protect it. It is essential to all forms of life, and we cannot survive without it. However, despite its importance, many people take it for granted, wasting it, polluting it, and neglecting to maintain its infrastructure.

Access to clean and safe drinking water is still a significant challenge for many communities worldwide. Even in developed countries, access to water can be limited in some areas. Many people must travel long distances to fetch water or rely on contaminated water sources. This lack of access to clean water not only affects people’s health and quality of life but also hinders their economic development and education opportunities.

The overuse of water resources is depleting them. The demands of industries, agriculture, and growing populations are causing water scarcity in many regions worldwide. Climate change is exacerbating the problem by altering rainfall patterns, causing droughts, and increasing the frequency of extreme weather events such as floods and hurricanes.

We must work together to address these challenges and protect our water resources. We must conserve water by reducing our usage and preventing wastage. We can do this by fixing leaking pipes, using water-efficient appliances, and adopting sustainable water practices in agriculture and industry.

We must work to ensure access to clean water for all communities, especially those that are currently underserved. This requires investment in infrastructure, technology, and education. We must also address pollution and protect our water sources from contamination by industrial and agricultural runoff, hazardous waste, and other pollutants.

Finally, water is a precious resource that we cannot take for granted. We must cherish and protect it for future generations. We must work together to ensure access to clean water, conserve water, and protect our water resources from pollution and overuse. By doing so, we can create a healthier, more sustainable world for ourselves and those who come after us.

This Blog Includes:

Introduction, importance of water conservation, how to save water, the problem: clean water scarcity, the solution, speech on save water for 1 minute, speech on how to save water for 2 minutes, popular quotes for save water speech.

Good morning everyone! Today I am here to convey a very important message on water conservation and its significance. We all know that Earth’s entire life cycle needs air, water, and fruit, and no one can live without them. Water is said to be a priceless resource, and each drop counts. We can only use 1% of the water on the planet, even though it makes up 70% of the total volume. Most of our household tasks cannot be completed without water. Also, in industries, it is used for the preparation of goods and products. Furthermore, it assists in transportation too. As a result, we must use our scarce water resources wisely.

Speech on Save Water

Now let’s talk about water management. Water management is one of the crucial methods to save water in the 21st century. This process is all about safely using water to minimise pollution. So, why do we need a clear-cut water management system?

  • Water security is critical for us today because new, clean water is scarce and valuable.
  • Natural resources protection is important to the environment and a basic demand for all operations from local uses to agriculture and industry.
  • The human population’s steady growth has led to extreme demand for water supplies.
  • Today, the exploitation in the channel, the bay, the reservoir, and groundwater is seriously scarce and could well continue to worsen the years.

Therefore, attempts to conserve water need to be accelerated and the protection of water seriously taken into account.

Since I am presenting before you a speech on saving water, it is my duty to enlist before you the necessity of saving water.

  • Water is a finite resource that is in short supply.

Although water covers 71% of our world, just 3% of it is fresh water. Just 1% of the 3% is accessible, with the other 2% frozen in glaciers and ice caps. This means that 1% of the earth’s population, including humans, animals, and plants, must be sustained solely on its own. Water is a scarce resource that cannot be replenished. We will have less of it in the future if we do not conserve it while the population expands.

  • Water is needed for survival.

This is the most obvious incentive to save water. To live, we need water. Not only do we need it to survive, but it is also important to our way of life. Water is needed for the potential viability of the food we consume, crops, and livestock. We would have to rely on other sustainable food sources, such as insects and bugs if we didn’t have enough water. Although this is feasible, it is still preferable to concentrate on what you can do to ensure the long-term sustainability of our current way of life.

  • The value of other resources rises as a result of water waste.

Water scarcity makes it more difficult to generate those crops that need it. As a result, such goods will become scarce or will be priced higher.

  • It’s a cost-cutting strategy.

Water management involves selecting the best choices for reducing water consumption. The less water we consume, the less money and resources we expend collecting and storing it in our homes, hospitals, and other services.

  • It allows the usage of water for recreational purposes for a long time.

Apart from drinking and bathing, freshwater has many other applications. Water is used in outdoor sports, spas, and other related events. If water is not conserved, outdoor activities that depend on the water can become obsolete in the immediate future.

  • It increases the quality of the water.

Water management will potentially enhance water quality. Water recycling activities not only save money on water but also increase the efficiency of the water. The explanation for this is that less excess water is being recycled into freshwater supplies.

  • You can only do so much more with waste water.

A lot of things can be done with wastewater. It can be used as fertiliser, a source of oil, or recycled to reduce carbon emissions. What you can do with wastewater, though, has its limits. It would not be enough to support human life until wastewater exceeds potable water. Water that is safe to drink is still preferable to polluted water that is recycled.

  • It helps us to reduce our carbon footprint.

Water management, according to one report, assists in the elimination of greenhouse gas emissions. The explanation for this is that the more efficiently we use our water, the fewer resources and money it takes to manufacture goods and release greenhouse gases.

  • It provides opportunities for upcoming generations to flourish.

Future people will only have one planet to live in, and it will be in whatever shape we leave it in. Failure to save water now that it is simply a priority puts future generations and the environment at risk. The more water we save, the more habitable the Earth can become for them.

Moving further in this speech on saving water, we must look at techniques to save water. Water management can be achieved in several ways. If we use water sparingly and take sufficient action to save it, the small water supplies will last for a long time.

  • By Storing Rain Water

If we gather rainwater, the annual water shortage that we face will be alleviated. We may store rainwater in canals, dams, lakes, tanks, and other systems. This water can be used in the house, in factories, and in agricultural operations. By building massive canals and ponds around villages and towns, we can provide relief to water-stressed regions.

  • Underground Water Preservation

Groundwater is underground water that we draw from wells, hand pumps, and other sources. Groundwater levels are declining as a result of increased groundwater mining, and it’s usage. When groundwater levels increase, we should protect it by building dams, lakes, and other structures. Land waste must also be addressed because it pollutes groundwater.

  • Preservation of Water Reservoirs

The key sources of water are rivers, ponds, reservoirs, so it’s necessary to preserve them. Water contamination is the most serious harm to these water supplies. It would be impossible for us to get drinking water if these major supplies of water are drained. Thus, by avoiding rising water contamination, we should protect rivers, pools and reservoirs.

  • Save Water in Daily Chores

We abuse vast water quantities in our daily lives, and we do not know that water is only present on our earth. We do a lot of work in waste such as bathing, clothes and utensils, washing cars, celebrations, house sweeping etc. If we recognise our obligations and take advantage of water, we will contribute to water management.

Below are some instances where water conservation can be performed on an individual basis:

  • Always make sure that the taps are absolutely locked so that no water is lost.
  • Fix any leakage in and around the nozzle right away.
  • Using an air filter or a water flow minimising attachment on your nozzle to save water.
  • When dishwashing, don’t run the tap continuously.
  • If you’re brushing your teeth, turn off the tap.
  • Installing a low-flush toilet will cut significant water consumption.
  • During the spring, fall, or cold weather, less water is needed, so use less water at those times.
  • We can stop people from wasting water by installing water metres in their homes.

Tips on How to Save Water

If someone had proposed selling pure water ten years ago, I’m sure he might have gotten a nice laugh or been mocked. Mineral or filtered water, on the other hand, is now a multibillion-dollar company. People are willing to pay 20 rupees for a water bottle, given the fact that we all know how difficult it is to get pure or clean water. One thing is certain: we will run out of clean water in the future, and there is an urgent need to drive our attention to saving water. With this, I come to the end of my speech on save water. Thank you!

This Save Water Speech is helpful for students in grades 4-10, as they are navigating life and trying to understand their role on this planet, this speech is useful for enlightening the same.

A warm welcome to everyone present here. I (Your name) would like to thank you for giving me this opportunity to speak on the topic of water, its importance, and the need to conserve water.

Let me start by asking can we imagine our lives without water? We cannot live without water. Just like our bodies despite being 70% water needs water to function the earth’s surface is covered with 70% water and we are falling short of preserving it and making good use of it. It is the source driving our existence, it is sacred, natural, and ensures progress and development. Even as we comprehend these truths, we cannot ignore the fact that we abuse water by wasting it in abundance.

To make this planet a beautiful place for the necessities of life it is important to use water in a sustainable form. It is crucial for industries to recycle and reuse. We can do our bit by controlling the waste in our everyday use, by not letting the tap run for too long unnecessarily when brushing our teeth, taking a bath, and cleaning our dishes. Even a single drop of contribution will impact the world in a larger way. Do not wait for things to get worse, start now. If not now then when? If not you then who? Do your bit and spread the word.

Good morning to everyone present here. I Sakshi would like to extend a warm welcome to all of you and express my gratitude for the opportunity to give a speech on how to save water.

Only 0.3% of the total volume of water is accessible. The rest is either salinated or inaccessible. Groundwater is our primary source of water, and it is being used unmetered, resulting in low groundwater levels. This could lead to water scarcity in the future. As a result, water conservation is important. Some simple ways to contribute to water conservation are listed below.

  • Use buckets or take short showers.
  • Taking a bath saves a lot of water.
  • While brushing your teeth, turn off the water tap.
  • Water leaks should be checked and repaired on a regular basis.
  • Water the plants using a watering can.
  • Children and kids should be taught not to misuse water.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to my speech. I hope you enjoyed and comprehended it.

Water is a precious natural resource that cannot be replaced.  However, we are squandering it without realising its significance.

Hello and welcome to everyone who has come to see us. Before I begin my discussion on water conservation, I’d like to send you my warmest greetings. Also, I’d like to express my gratitude for providing me with this wonderful chance.

Although the world contains plenty of water, just a small fraction (approximately 0.3%) is appropriate for humans. The remaining 99.7% is trapped in the oceans, ice caps, soils, and the environment. Still, enough about the 0.3% that is beyond our control.

Groundwater is our primary source of water, and it is being used unmetered, resulting in low groundwater levels. This could lead to water scarcity in the future. As a result, water conservation is necessary. The following are some suggestions for conserving water in order to avoid future water scarcity.

  • Avoid use of tap while drinking the water and use a glass.
  • Close the shower while applying soap.
  • Use a sponge to wipe and clean your car dirt.

Here are a few popular quotes on the importance of saving water which can be useful for students. You can refer to this during your speech and make it more impactful.

“When one is thirsty, it is water that one searches for to feel alive again. Similarly, water gives life to the planet as well.”

“Water is perishable, depletes with every use, and it takes a long time to replenish.”

“With the increasing population of the world, water needs are also increasing. Hence it is important to conserve water.”

“Water is an important resource in our everyday life and also an important resource in the industries that are striving for growth and development.”

“Water is the main source for the growth of plants and hence the agricultural lands which are in majority use it to a great extent.”

This was our sample speech on save water. We hope that this blog has inspired you to go a little deeper with your water conservation efforts and help you prepare for any future speeches that you have to give. Frequently asked questions on water conservation.

Water conservation can be defined as the practice of using water efficiently for reducing unnecessary water wastage. Fresh, clean water is a very limited resource on Earth. Even though about 70 percent of the Earth’s surface is covered by water, only less than one percent is available for us as freshwater. If that one percent of water is not conserved, where else will we get water from? How will we quench our thirst? Got no answers, right?

Yes, that is the reality we are facing now. Do you know that, on average, up to 45 litres of water is wasted in India every day by each one of us? If it is the quantity of water wasted by an individual, then what will be the quantity of freshwater wasted by the people living in the whole world?

Sample Speech on Water Conservation

A few samples of speeches on water conservation are given below. Go through them and utilise the resource for your better understanding.

I hope you are familiar with the beautiful quote – ‘It’s the little things that matter most’.

Yes, little things do matter a lot. Small actions in our daily routine are enough to waste a huge quantity of freshwater. Turning on taps while brushing teeth or shaving, flushing toilets unwantedly, ignoring leakages of taps, washing vehicles with fresh water, etc., are some of the most common ways by which people unknowingly waste water. It will definitely shock you to know about the quantity of water wasted by you while bathing, and while using toilets. Did you know that a leaking tap in a bathroom can waste an approximate count of about 4000 drops of water in a single day, which is a litre of water wasted unknowingly?

Availability of pure drinking water is an absolute necessity for every individual around the world, and for ensuring its availability, a worldwide effort is needed. Before wasting water, try to remember that there are nearly 163 million Indian people who are suffering from scarcity of water. Every single drop counts, so try to conserve it.

It’s Hero Time – How Can We Conserve Water?

If you are longing to do something to conserve water, here is a quote for you – “ If you want to change the world, then home is the right place to start it.”

The first thing that we can do is to control water usage while doing laundry. Use the right amount of water for it; about 15-40% of indoor home water wastage occurs while washing clothes. It is better to use a semi-automatic washing machine for doing laundry. When compared to a fully automatic washing machine, the amount of water consumed by a semi-automatic washing machine is much less.

Stop unnecessary usage of toilet flushing. Toilet flushings in a day use more amount of water than you probably drink. Try to attach variable flushing devices to your toilets. By fixing such devices, individuals can choose the volume of water required and can use it accordingly.

Use water cautiously while gardening. Gardening is a process that requires the usage of a large quantity of water. Prepare a chart for watering your lovely plants; it is better to water it early in the morning or late in the evening. By doing so, the water lasts longer in the soil with the pots.. It will not evaporate quickly, as the warmth is low in the morning and in the evening.

Turn off the taps and fix the leaks. Do not waste water unnecessarily while brushing your teeth or while washing vegetables. Try to collect water in a large bowl and use it for washing all vegetables and fruits.

Try to reuse water. Use water used for washing vegetables and cleaning fruits for gardening purposes. Use a storage tank to store rainwater. You can use this collected rainwater for flushing toilets, washing vehicles, watering plants, and so on. Construct a rain garden. A rain garden is a constructed area in the garden that collects rainwater from the roofs and other pipes. Reuse excess drinking water. Even though it is not an intentional action, drinking water is wasted in many of our homes. Most of the people do not finish their drinks. They will leave a small amount of water in the glass itself. Try to collect this excess water and reuse it.

Conduct a monthly check on the plumbing and make sure that no water is wasted through dripping. If not, fix it as quickly as possible; never skip this task. Also, remember these words – “Little drops make a mighty ocean”.

Rainwater harvesting is the process of collecting the rain that runs off from the rooftops of buildings, roads, open grounds, etc. It is one of the best methods that we can follow for the conservation of water. The scarcity of fresh, clean water is highly affecting our lives, right? Rainwater harvesting will definitely be a solution to this problem. By the process of rainwater harvesting, people can receive the finest quality of water. Water harvested through this technique can later be used for cooking, cleaning, gardening, irrigation purposes, bathing, etc.

Rainwater harvesting is a low-cost process. When compared to any other water-conserving system, the technology behind rainwater harvesting is simple. It is very easy to install and operate it. It also saves money and reduces the necessity of buying water for domestic use.

Rainwater harvesting promotes water conservation. Rainwater has a balanced pH, and it is free from chemicals like chlorine. As a result, water collected through this system can be directly used for gardening, washing, irrigation, etc. A high volume of water will be kept out from flood and storm-water runoffs through this process.

One disadvantage of rainwater harvesting, however, is that it requires regular maintenance. If not installed properly, the stagnant water will attract mosquitoes, and it may result in the spread of many waterborne diseases. It also requires some technical skills for installing this system. If you can take the effort to master it, and properly maintain your rainwater harvesting system, it will be a big step towards water conservation.

What is Water Conservation?

Water conservation can be defined as the practice of using water efficiently for reducing unnecessary water wastage.

Long And Short Speech For Everyone

Good morning

Greetings and salutations to the exceptional stars of my academic journey, esteemed educators, distinguished faculty members, and fellow scholars within this revered academy.

The Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) of the United Nations, which advocates for access to clean water and sanitation for all people, emphasizes the importance of water conservation as a global issue.

This objective includes managing water resources responsibly and making sure that each drop is used effectively. The need for conservation is even more pressing in a populated nation like India where there is extreme demand for water supplies. Community planning is crucial in this situation. The use and management of water can be maximized to match local demands and conditions by including local communities in water conservation activities. This fosters a sense of responsibility for this vital resource.

Water is a priceless gift from nature that has been given to humans. No life form exists on Earth without water. Water is essential to life on this planet. Despite the fact that water covers 75 percent of the earth’s surface, mankind nonetheless faces a water shortage.

Water is a scarce resource in many parts of the world, thus people are taught to conserve it. We must save water if we are to safeguard the planet, life, and the ecosystem. Water scarcity across the globe is having an impact on the natural ecosystem as a whole. The most valuable resource on the earth is water because it is necessary for all of our daily activities, including drinking, cooking, bathing, dressing, growing crops, and harvesting. Water conservation is therefore the most important responsibility that every person must carry out in order to improve the quality of life on Earth.

We have many programs and projects run by the government.

The “Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain Campaign 2022” was launched by Indian President Ramnath Kovind on March 29, 2022.

The nation has arranged a Jal Andolan for the third year in 2022 to save rainfall and recharge groundwater. The Jal Shakti Abhiyan focused on five areas: watershed development, reuse and recharging of buildings, rainwater gathering, rehabilitation of traditional and current water bodies, and significant afforestation. The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti is in charge of coordinating this collaborative project between the several ministries of the Indian government and the state governments.

Water conservation is more simple and requires many fewer steps than fishing for a massive shark. such as collecting rainwater. Rainwater collection and storage for later use is an easy and efficient way to conserve water. Additionally, raising awareness of the value of water conservation can significantly improve its implementation. After all, every drop that is preserved helps to ensure the longevity and health of life on our planet.

To ensure the sustainability of this priceless gift, people just need to be aware of it and assume appropriate responsibility. We should swear not to waste even a single drop of water and to prevent others from doing the same. If these tiny efforts are completed in the right amount of time, they can have a significant impact.

I appreciate your listening, and I hope this has motivated you to use water more wisely. One drop at a time, we have the ability to have a big influence.

Speech notes for address to water management forum, organised by Environment Canterbury. Christchurch Convention Centre

Good morning, and thank you for inviting me to speak to you today – and thank you for your hospitality and company last night.

The effective management of water quality and availability is a priority for this Government. Water is fundamental to our economic development and the New Zealand way of life. The range of uses and values in water is broad and together we face the challenge of meeting these needs now and for the future.

In May, you heard about the Government’s decisions on water. The Sustainable Water Programme of Action Ministerial Advisory Group is now up and running and will meet later this month. Jim Anderton and I will report back to Cabinet in March next year on progress with the Programme.

We’re also working towards launching the Water Awareness Campaign later this month. While New Zealanders love their water bodies, not everyone understands the importance of acting now to manage them sustainably. Last night I was glad to be able to give you a sneak preview of the campaign, and the feedback seems positive.

There's plenty for us to do before March next year, and collaborative events like this forum help give focus and impetus to our work.

We will get the best results through collaboration and partnership. In March you heard from the Prime Minister at the Central Government – Local Government Forum about the fundamental role local government has in working alongside central government to achieve the strategic goals of economic transformation; families young and old; and building national identity. Effective water management is integral to achieving these goals.

Jim Anderton talked last night about the importance of, and in some cases, urgency for water management to evolve with changing economic and environmental circumstances. The Sustainable Water Programme of Action is about working with local government to reach a common understanding on how we can achieve a more integrated and flexible management framework for water.

It’s not about changing the good work that councils are already doing – it’s about endorsing and supporting it. This forum is part of achieving a strong working relationship with you – we are committed to making it work.

We already share many of the same principles and goals for water. Many Long Term Council Community Plans have identified water quality and non-point source pollution as priority issues. And there’s a lot of common ground that has been identified at this forum already.

I know that yesterday you asked for central government actions to add value. I agree. The water programme will have failed if it requires more cumbersome processes. I heard of your concerns about the costs of litigation over technical methods and what that litigation does to your regional plans. I’m confident that the water programme will assist.

Agility was raised yesterday. Do you have the tools to respond quickly enough to emerging challenges? If not, what can Government do to provide you with the agility you need? The spirit of the water programme is not to send you back to the drawing board on issues you are already addressing, but to provide you greater ability to address the upcoming issues.

I understand one size does not fit all. We are not advocating that. We want to make the policy framework suit your local situation and community. I also acknowledge that improvements will take time. At the same time I want to be convinced that cumulative effects can be adequately managed.

I have high expectations that this common understanding will be cemented today and that we will jointly move on to the next step – the workable solutions we all need.

When we talk about national direction on water demand, it’s not a top down “one-way street”. We need to think collectively about how national tools could support local management. National direction can complement and endorse the innovation and expertise of local government, water users and communities.

As an example, some water users are trialling the use of telemetered water metering which enables the measuring of “real time” water use.

We’ve begun work on developing a National Environmental Standard, which will endorse the effective use of water measuring devices. We aim to assist councils in gathering accurate and useful information for managing water resources. This is how I’d like to see national instruments being framed and used.

And it’s the same when I refer to national policies on water quality. A national policy statement could set national outcomes and goals for water quality but still leave room for a mix of tools and solutions to tackle the local issues.

This flexibility is required to address the specific local challenges for different catchments and water bodies. Some catchments are at immediate risk from land use. Others have outstanding natural values that need to be protected. We are lucky to have many pristine water bodies, New Zealand rivers are of high quality by international standards.

But we can’t afford to be complacent. There is increasing concern about quality and competition for use. In most cases it’s our lowland streams that are the focus – and I commend councils for the work that’s going on to clean up water bodies that are in poor shape.

Local innovation is driving these improvements through partnerships with land-owners, community groups and industry sectors. Initiatives include farm management plans, on-site advice, and riparian planting. I would like to highlight two current examples of effective collaboration.

With the Dairying and Clean Streams Accord we are seeing significant changes in land management. Targets for the exclusion of stock from streams and the bridging of streams have been exceeded. Local government and the dairy sector have shown great commitment to making the Accord a success.

In the Taupo catchment, excellent progress is being made with a programme assisting land-owners to transition to low nitrogen-emitting land-uses and management techniques. It’s a collective programme between land-owners, local government, Ngati Tuwharetoa, and central government.

Joint funding of $81.5 million has been committed by central and local government, underpinned by Environment Waikato’s regional rules that will cap nitrogen emissions at pre-2004 levels.

We want to endorse and support this locally-driven work throughout the Sustainable Water Programme of Action.

There’s good reason for managing water locally to reflect the local conditions and aspirations of communities. I regard this as a strength of our system. The challenge for us today is to identify how we plan and provide for national aspirations and goals through our local management system.

The RMA itself is a good piece of legislation, and we want to be able to use it to its best effect. We need to consider how best to do this, either through minor changes or through encouraging and disseminating best practice.

Councils already have a good toolkit for managing water issues in their regions. I was encouraged to learn recently about Environment Canterbury’s Restorative Programme for Lowland Streams involving a staged review of over 600 groundwater consents. Tackling over-allocation as well as managing water in the face of changes in climate is a huge challenge for the Canterbury region.

So in many cases it’s a matter of getting access to information, expertise and in some cases funding to develop and implement the solutions. The best solutions might be “best practice” or other forms of guidance which can be shared. We need to target solutions to the different challenges of specific catchments and water bodies. Part of this is identifying sensitive and at risk catchments, as well as identifying water bodies of national outstanding natural value.

We need to know which water bodies are at greatest risk from changes in land-use. We also need to have a clear picture of our pristine water bodies with national outstanding natural value that need long-term protection.

Although these projects are to be developed on a national scale, we want to work collaboratively with local government and communities.

A collective role for all of us is to make the links between related projects on water, climate change adaptation, flooding and forestry to achieve whole of catchment solutions. It is also important to clarify the roles and responsibilities for catchment management.

We want to engage more with you to provide a clearer understanding of the challenges facing the country in catchment management, and to seek better opportunities for integrated solutions.

As an example, when we talk about identifying the appropriate form of national direction we can look at the linkages between policies to address water quality and other environmental issues. Policies to plant more trees for example, may have many possible advantages such as helping to clean up our waterways, encouraging biodiversity, and increasing the number of carbon sinks for green house gas emissions.

This forum is an excellent opportunity to discuss your views on the role of central government and how it complements the responsibility you have as primary managers of freshwater.

Today we are at a cross road for the future management of water. We have the opportunity now to ensure that the value of water is fundamental to decision-making on our economy and lifestyle. The opportunity actually to deliver for New Zealanders the security, the economic growth and the clean environment they expect and deserve.

You can select any of the speeches given below according to your need and requirement.

Long and Short Speech on Save Water in English

Save water speech 1.

Good morning to the excellencies, respected teachers and my dear colleagues. I would like to speech on a very important topic “save water” today at this special occasion. As well all know that how the water is important for the continuation of life on the earth.

It is the most basic need of everyone (human being, animal, plant and other microorganisms). Water is the unique source of life, without water we cannot imagine the life here. Life on other planets is not possible just because of the absence of water. It is considered as the most important among other known celestial bodies.

Almost three-fourth area of the earth is covered by the water and it constitutes around 60-70 % of the living world. It seems that water is endless renewable source on the earth because it is regenerated and redistributed all over the earth through evaporation and rain. It arises a question in our mind that if water is renewable source then why we should worry for water and try to conserve it.

Save Water

Actually, there is only 1% of the water on the earth which is usable to us. And other water bodies have unusable water to us such as 97% salty sea water, 2% water in the form of glaciers and polar ice caps. Only 1% water is here for us over which a huge population all over the world is depended for the survival. Death is more possible in the lack of water than the lack of food. It again arises a question in our mind that why we are so late in realizing the need of water saving and conservation.

Since the life of each and every living things on the earth depends on water, then scenario will get worse if useful water become dirty or started reducing. A water looking fresh and drinkable from outside can be mixed with the harmful and toxic elements through various sources like industries, factories, sewer, etc and cause illness and death if ingested by animals, plants or human beings. Here are some tips which really will help us to save water:

  • Parents should aware their children about the need of water conservation. They should avoid buying recreational water toys (which require constant stream of water) to their children.
  • Everyone should be aware of the water shortage rules and restrictions and strictly follow in their own area.
  • Every employee should be active for the water conservation at their own work place and encourage their employer to promote water conservation in other effective ways.
  • There should be water conservation awareness and tips for every starter in the orientation manual and training program at schools, colleges, work place, offices, institutions, etc.
  • Water conservation techniques should be promoted on every news media such as TV, newspaper, radio, FM, community newsletters, bulletin boards, banners, etc.
  • People should be more active in their area to report (to their owner, local authorities, water management of district) any problems related to water loss through broken pipes, errant sprinklers, open hydrants, abandoned free-flowing wells, etc.
  • Water conservation awareness should be highly developed and promoted especially in the schools to aware children means future of the nation.
  • School students should be assigned to prepare projects on water conservation or given this topic during any competition like debate, discussion, essay writing or speech recitation.
  • It should be promoted at tourism level so that tourists and visitors can be aware of and understand the need for water conservation.
  • As being educated citizens we should encourage our friends and neighbors to join the water conscious community.
  • Everyone should make a task related to water saving and try to complete by the end of day strictly.

Save Water Speech 2

A very good morning to the respected teachers, my dear friends and other gathered people here. As we are here to celebrate this occasion, I would like to speech on the topic of save water. Now-a-days, lack of useful water in our surrounding areas is the most serious topic which needs to be working out urgently. Three-fourth of the earth surface is covered by the water however there is lack of drinking water on the earth (only 1%).

The level of drinking water on the earth is getting down and dirty because of various industrial sources day by day. It is very serious matter that we are losing the useful water on the earth. Each human body consists of 75% water which make clear that how the water is important for us as a prime elements and responsible for life on the earth. Water circulates itself in the universe through the process of evaporation and rain.

A well developed human body contains an average of 42 liters of water however suffers dehydration at a very small loss of 2.7 liters. He/she starts feeling weak, irritable, fatigue, dizziness, nervousness, headaches, etc. We all should improve the habit of water saving and conservation in our home and outside. Here are some points which can help us in save water outside the doors:

  • We should use water according to the need and requirement and never over-water our lawn they need watering every 5 to 7 days (summer season), every 10 to 14 days (winter season) and almost not in the rainy season.
  • We should water the lawns especially in the early morning or late evening because due to the low temperature and low wind speed it can not be lost through evaporation and totally used by the plants.
  • We should not water the streets, driveways or sidewalks, all are wastage of water.
  • We should use water-efficient methods of irrigation (micro and drip irrigation, soaker hoses, etc) while sprinkling over plants or other place.
  • If a lawn cut higher, it encourages roots of the plants go deeper and holds more soil moisture thus require less water from outside.
  • We should never fertilizes (or only sometimes according to need) our lawns because it increases the need of more water.
  • Sprinklers or hoses can not be left unattended as they may loss approximately 600 gallons of water in few hours.
  • Car washing should be done on the green ground or lawn otherwise prefer commercial car wash as they recycles water.
  • We should avoid ornamental water features like fountains in the lawn as show piece.
  • There should be filter system in the individual swimming pools.
  • Mulching technique also helps plants to retain soil moisture for long time.
  • We should try to plant some native and drought resistant plants, grasses, ground covers and shrubs in the lawns as they do not need more water to survive.
  • There should not be any leakage in the water pipes in the home and in case of leakage, hose washers can be used between spigots and water hoses.

Save Water Speech 3

Good morning to the excellencies, my respected teachers and my dear colleagues. I would like to speech on the topic of save water today while celebrating such a nice occasion. Hope you all would help me and let me fulfill the objectives of my speech. As we all know the importance of water in our life. Water involves in almost all the processes in our body such as digestion, elimination, assimilation, respiration, maintaining body temperature, etc. It is required to remove the thirst of our body.

We can live for days without food however cannot imagine to live without water more than a day. The level of useful drinking water (only 1%) on the earth is very less and other water is salty and not useful to the living beings. Water is required by everything like plants, animals, microorganisms, human being, etc to fulfill the body requirements. Do we imagine that what will happen if the drinking water get finished a day or get polluted. Yes, it is the main question which has opened the eyes of everyone and start saving water at every place we belong like home, surrounding area, office, school, college, etc.

We have to save and conserve our drinking water from extra spend as well as being polluted by following various techniques of water conservation. Now-a-days, in the world of technological improvement and industrialization, the safe water is getting polluted to a huge level on daily basis by getting mixed with hundreds of tons of toxins and impurities (as industrial wastes). There are many water treatments used to make dirty water clean and bacteriologically safe however many times they have been proved ineffective because of the presence of certain pathogenic bacteria (giardia and cryptosporidium) after test.

Sometimes the presence of toxic chemicals and inorganic minerals are also found causing various diseases. In order to be safe from the diseases, a mass of people has started drinking mineral water. If we regularly destroy and soiled our drinking water, surely there would be a day soon when we get pure water (labeled as oxygen enriched, free toxic materials, radioactive and chemical compounds). Here are some points helping how to better save drinking water:

  • We should not waste water by draining it without purpose. All the taps should be closed properly to avoid unnecessary water drainage.
  • Do not waste water by irrigating lawns unnecessarily. Lawn needs water every 5 to 7 days in the summer whereas every 10 to 14 days in winter.
  • People should verify that home is leak-free while buying home.
  • All the dripping taps should be repaired soon through replacing washers as they may loss around 2,700 gallons of water per year.
  • Toilet tank leaks should be checked time to time by using food coloring to the tank (if there is leakage it would appear within few min).
  • Never flush toilet or use showers for long time unnecessarily because there may be huge water loss.
  • People should use only required amount of water bathing or washing clothes.
  • Do not destroy water while washing hands, brushing teeth or washing face on the basin, it is good to use mug water or keep close the tap while rubbing hands with soap, cleaning teeth or washing face.
  • Automatic dishwashers and clothes washers should be operated only when fully loaded in order to save water.
  • Everyone should store drinking water for long time in the big container instead of using tap run every time.

Save Water Speech 4

A very good morning to the excellencies, respected teachers and my dear friends. I am here to speech over save water topic today on this great occasion. I would like to say thanks to my class teacher to give such a great opportunity at this day to speech over an important topic. Water conservation is the technique to save clean and pure water for the future use by following various effective measures. Managing fresh water as a sustainable resource requires various strategies and activities in order to protect life by meeting all the water demands.

Reducing the level of fresh drinking water is very serious issue for this huge worldwide population and increasing need of people for water especially in the manufacturing and agricultural irrigation. Water conservation is necessary to fulfills the goal of future generations. It reduces the use of energy because water management require around 15% of the total electricity consumption. It also involve in the habitat conservation for the local wildlife and migrating waterfowl. It reduces need of building other dams or water diversion infrastructures.

In order to conserve fresh drinking water we need to reduce water loss, avoid damaging natural water quality and improve water management practices. There are many water conservation programs run by the government in order to solve the social problems related to water at the local level (municipal water utilities or regional governments). Some common strategies are like public outreach campaigns, reduce outdoor water use, etc.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, it is estimated that if water metering is done to everyone it will reduce water consumption by 20 to 40 %. Water metering is also necessary to raise awareness among public that metering will surely identify and localize the water leakage anywhere. This is the effective using which water department can easily monitor water usage by every family in the society. There should be less water consumed by the people in various water consuming appliances in the home like toilet flush, showers, sprinklers, fountains, washing machine, dish washers, etc.

There should be water-saving technology in the home appliances like low-flow shower heads (also called energy-efficient shower heads), low-flush toilets, composting toilets, dual flush toilets (uses almost 67% less water than the conventional toilets), faucet aerators, raw water flushing (toilets using sea water or non-purified water), water reuse or recycling of water, rainwater harvesting, clothe washers with high-efficiency, weather-based irrigation controllers, garden hose nozzles, low flow taps everywhere, covered swimming pool to reduce water evaporation, automatic faucet, water less urinals, water less car washing, etc reduces water consumption to a great extent and can save more water if used on daily basis in all houses. Agricultural appliances used by the farmers should also be of water-saving technology to reduce water consumption while irrigating crops.

Speech On Waste Water Management

I. INTRODUCTION 1. Waste water Wastewater is any water that adversely affects the quality of human health. Wastewater is a liquid source of waste from homes, commercial properties and industry or agriculture, often containing some pollutants from mixing water of different sources. Wastewater is often classified as industrial or domestic wastewater. In waste water , it contains a lot of harmful pollutants liked: lead, manganese, cadmium, zinc and so on. As known, these pollutants are very dangerous when humans or other species consumed or even when exposed to it. These will affect human health and kill aquatic organisms. Many serious health effects including mutations, cancer, organ damage and death are caused by violet dye in large quantities. …show more content…

Waste water treatment. Wastewater is a major cause of water pollution . Thus, wastewater treatment is a very important process to overcome water pollution . To remove pollutants, adsorption processes are carried out before discharging waste water out to river by many industries. This is an effective way to remove contaminants from industrial wastewater. There are two methods of wastewater treatment: chemical / physical treatment & biological treatment: Biological waste treatment uses biological and bacterial substances to decompose waste. Physical waste treatment carries out some chemical reactions or physical processes for treatment. The adsorption process is classified into two kinds of removal techniques: continuous and batch processes. In batch process, the adsorbents can be used up to maximum capacity. But it is not suitable for industrial uses because of the continuous and large wastewater-producing, which require larger areas to put large reservoirs for treatment. It is expensive and the processes need a lot of times to run. Therefore, industrial wastewater treatment mainly uses continuous …show more content…

Thus, the design SRT: θ_x^d=SF* [θ_x^min ]_lim = 15*1.4=21 d After that, we need to choose the concentration of total suspended solids. Base on the table 2, the value for conventional treatment we choose is 2000 mg/l. The hydraulic detention time for reactor: θ= (θ_x^d)/X_v [X_i^0+Y(S^0-S)(1+(1-f_d )bθ_x^d )/(1+bθ_x^d )] θ=21/2000[20+ 0.34(60-0)(1+(1-0.8)(0.15)(21))/(1+0.15(21) )]=0.29 d Volume reactors: V=Q^0 θ=〖10〗^2 (0.29)=29 m^3 The Concentration of Effluent Substrate: S=K (1+bθ_x^d)/(θ_x^d (Yq ̂-b)-1)= (1+0.15(21))/(21(0.34(2.5)-0.15)-1)=0.3 mg NH4^+-N/l The efficiency of ammonia-nitrogen removal of system is: Removal efficiency = 100 (S^0-S)/S^0 =100 (60-0.3)/60=99.5 % IV. CONCLUSION The average removal efficiency of NH4 + -N (99.5%) is therefore much larger than required, providing another level of safety in the design for system. In this case, as with most actual designs, the volume reactor tends to be more governed by the reliability considerations rather than considering the removal

Water Pollution Speech - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech

Speech on water pollution.

The pollution of water bodies such as lakes, seas, rivers, oceans, as well as groundwater. This type of pollution occurs when pollutants reach bodies of water, without any treatment. Waste from factories, homes and other structures gets into the water bodies and hence, water gets contaminated.

Water pollution causes problems for the species as well as ecosystems. It affects the growth of plants and organisms living in the water. The color of the contaminated water is usually green or brown but normally water is colorless.

Agriculture is one of the major sources of water pollution. The fertilizers given to the crops for better growth are washed into rivers and lakes, which in turn pollutes the water.

10 Lines On Water Pollution

When harmful impurities or pollutants are released into the water bodies, it is known as water pollution.

Pollutants degrade the quality of water and make it unfit for consumption.

Many aquatic animals die due to the presence of toxins in the water.

Industries and factory effluents are the major cause of release of water pollution.

Human activities such as agriculture use synthetic products like fertilizers and pesticides causing serious water pollution from rain to underground water.

If the polluted water is consumed, it may cause diseases like diarrhea, cholera, jaundice and typhoid.

Washing and bathing in the water bodies also cause water pollution.

The quality of drinking water should be checked from time to time to prevent epidemics.

Necessary steps must be implemented to stop or prevent water pollution.

Proper disposal of waste should be done.

Water Pollution Speech - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech

Short Speech On Water Pollution

Water is a precious resource, and life would be impossible on earth without it. That’s why every single drop of water must be taken care of. Water is required in almost all our household chores as well as for other commercial purposes. We need water for drinking, cooking, washing, fishing, irrigation, etc.

Even after knowing the importance of water, we still waste it and do not make wise use of it. Water is used recklessly without even thinking. Garbage and industrial waste from homes and industries are dumped in oceans and rivers resulting in the pollution of water. Other toxic pollutants that run out of factories and pesticides from agricultural practices also get discharged into the water causing further pollution in water.

The poor system of water supply and interaction of the water supply line with sewage also degrade the quality of water and thus make it unfit for drinking. Contaminated water can cause serious threats to the existence of humans as well as animals.

Developed countries occasionally suffer from the problem of water pollution. Water pollution is caused mainly due to the unnecessary use of pesticides in order to protect the agricultural harvest. The problem of water pollution in these countries is not because of the poor garbage management system like underdeveloped countries but, it is due to the reckless use of chemicals and toxic substances which is far more dangerous compared to underdeveloped countries.

Both developed as well as underdeveloped countries are facing the same problem. Strict laws should be implemented in order to stop the dumping of garbage or any other toxic waste in the water. Also, the government must adopt water conservation techniques so that misuse of water can be avoided.

Long Speech On Water Pollution

We all know that our society is facing a severe water crisis, therefore we need to find an immediate solution. Life originated in water and is unimaginable without it. Water in its pure form is colorless, tasteless and odorless. But high levels of contamination have deteriorated the quality of pure water.

Water pollution arises due to contamination such as the discharge of pollutants like domestic, biological, industrial, chemical, physical and so on. Water pollution consists of physical or chemical change in its property that has an adverse effect on the health of humans as well as other organisms. At present, it has become a cause of global concern but the level of water pollution differs from one country to the other and also differs from region to region.

Based on the source of contaminant, it can be of several types, such as:

Pesticide Pollution

Bacterial Pollution

Metallic Pollution

Thermal Pollution

Radioactive Pollution

Domestic Waste And Sewage RunOff

Domestic waste usually includes organic wastes like food leftovers, vegetable peels, domestic garbage, cloth, toiletries and runoff of human excreta due to bathing, household cleaning, laundering and food processing. Domestic sewage contains organic wastes when these are discharged into water bodies and increases the level of BOD. Biological oxygen demand is the amount of oxygen needed for the decomposition of organic wastes present in the water bodies. Increased level of BOD causes a serious threat to the lives of aquatic animals.

Pesticides are the chemical compounds required for pest control. The runoff of the agricultural fields when discharged in water results in pesticide pollution of various water bodies like streams, rivers and lakes. Pesticides have an adverse effect on the lives of aquatic organisms, which include fishes and even insects.

These chemical compounds are usually very stable and disintegrate partially to form several toxic compounds in the environment. Pesticides which are used to kill insects are either organic phosphorus compounds such as Malathion or chlorinated hydrocarbons such as Endrin, DDT and Aldrin. These compounds are very stable and lead to accumulation in the tissues of aquatic chemicals. The level of accumulation is found more in the higher trophic levels.

Industrial Effluents And Discharge

Industries are responsible for creating several organic and inorganic wastes, which eventually enter into the water bodies and pollute them. When the aquatic environment becomes polluted and toxic, it not only affects the aquatic animals but also gets accumulated at the bottom of the water bodies and finally enters into the bodies of the aquatic organisms. Objects, such as metals, tires, cans, plastic materials and polythene further accumulate in the water and pollute it.

Therefore serious measures should be followed to decrease the levels of contamination in water bodies. Also, we need to find solutions to eradicate this problem by

1. Implementing laws and penalties on factories and industries regarding their treatment and waste management.

2. By educating people and spreading awareness about the adverse effects of Water Pollution.

3. Treatment of waste products before disposing of them in water bodies helps reduce water pollution. Agriculture and other industries can reuse this wastewater by decreasing its toxic contents.

Long and Short Speech on Waste Management in India

In today’s time, waste management is a very important matter for our society. Waste generation is increasing day by day due to a continuous increase in the population of the world. Increase in waste management is affecting the lives of people also. For example, there are many waste disposal regions which are near the slum areas and the people living in those areas are being affected by it and are prone to many types of diseases. Therefore, for living a proper healthy life, waste management is much needed.

Waste is just some type of product that is no longer in use and has come to an end. Often it is said that its life has been spent and that it will not be used anymore. It is the unwanted things people have thrown out of their homes. It is often referred to in other words as "garbage" and "trash." Here we have provided both Long and Short Speech on Waste Management in India and 10 lines for Speech on Waste Management so that students can refer to them as per their needs.

Waste management is a procedure in which unwanted garbage or waste is being dumped in a proper place and in a proper manner by disposing and recycling them to avoid any type of pollution so that people can live a good, healthy and disease free  life. To avoid contamination, waste should be dumped or disposed of in a proper place. Waste management helps people to avoid or eradicate those diseases which are caused by the waste or garbage.

Waste management is considered to be one of the important and mandatory processes to avoid pollution, to avoid diseases which are caused by wastes and to care for the health of the people. With the increase in population, waste generation is also increasing. It leads to an increase in pollution which is an important issue to focus on.

Long Speech on Waste Management

Today, I am here to deliver a Speech on Waste Management In India. Waste management has been a major issue for many years, and since the era of industrialization in the world, this problem has evolved from time to time. It has many damaging environmental and atmospheric consequences. The gasses from these unmanaged waste are very harmful to the atmosphere, causing air pollution, which leads many people to suffer from respiratory problems. This unmanaged waste is one of the causes of global warming. Near the rivers or seas, several factories dispose of their waste in these water bodies and thus generate water pollution. They do not know that the disposal of such toxic waste, such as chemicals, etc., can lead to many diseases and can even be dangerous to creatures living underwater.

The poor state of waste management is known to all of us, and there are hardly any places in the country that use the correct waste disposal system. Unmanaged waste that is not properly disposed of gives birth to a variety of diseases and emissions. There is an immediate need for better management of waste.

Several concerns are resulting from the inefficient handling of waste. Water contamination is caused by the waste that is pumped into the water bodies. Many rural areas do not have access to sufficient toilets, and those with access to a proper drainage system, don’t maintain it well resulting in spills.

We need to follow proper waste management procedures to solve these problems.

The definition of waste disposal or waste management is very clear. It means the substance that is used, excreted or unusable is disposed of.

There are many ways of disposing of waste correctly and they are not harmful to the environment, such as-

(i) Recycling and reusing the usable portion of the discarded item;

(ii) landfills - To dump the everyday waste into the landfills;

(iii) combustion or incineration - To burn the waste material and convert it into gaseous items;

(iv) Plasma Gasification - To break down the molecular bonds of waste;

(v) Waste to Energy - To turn non-recyclable waste into useful products such as heat, electricity or fuel through various processes;

(vi) Composting - To convert biodegradable waste such as the kitchen or garden waste into nutritious food for plants;

(vii) Waste minimization - To break down the molecular bonds of the waste through the immense heat produced by the plasma that is an electrically charged gas.

These strategies will only be effective if we strive to initiate them in our everyday lives. If we want to do something about global warming, then this is a way to help as well.

Now it's time for us to do something about waste management. New waste disposal machines and technologies focused on municipalities should be created.

Short Speech on Waste Management in India

Today, I am here to deliver a Speech on Waste Management. With human population development, new places for human settlements and more factories are needed to meet the increasing population's basic requirements. To increase the degree of productivity, various means of cultivation are then introduced through the use of pesticides and fertilizers. So much more is being done to have a comfortable lifestyle. But do you know what our world earns in exchange for our everyday sustenance? Unfortunately, it's garbage.

Our domestic and industrial waste greatly affects the atmosphere and raises the amount of pollution. So, to minimize waste and handle it efficiently, a few things can be done. We should mainly ensure the garbage is thrown into the dustbin only and not elsewhere. And if the waste is a recyclable item, place it in the recyclable bin rather than in the trash bin. Let us make sure that both the bins are clearly labelled from our point of view. This will make it easier to minimize waste and recycle waste material for the next use while using it as a valuable resource.

In reality, so much old stuff, such as bags and jars, can be recycled at your homes; while broken products can be repaired to reduce waste. It can be very useful for our climate, to reduce the amount of soil, air and water contamination. By recycling old waste, we won't have to rely a lot on natural resources that have been drained by continuous use. Thirdly, it takes a lot of resources to use raw materials to furnish a new item than by recycling old ones. This will mean that we will become more efficient in terms of energy, conserve it and it will also aid in bringing down the cost of products.

10 Lines for Speech on Waste Management

Wastes can cause air and water contamination, and decaying garbage releases toxic chemicals and gases that are absorbed into the air and causes pollution.

Waste management is the method of mankind's disposal of waste for recyclable use.

Municipal waste, which includes household and commercial waste from a city, is a large amount of waste that is processed.

In ancient times, the population of the planet was very small because people mined the earth and buried their waste to dispose of their waste.

Just 43 million of the 622 billion tonnes of waste have been processed, 11.9 million tonnes have been treated and 31 million tonnes have been dumped on large plots.

The principal waste management process is to isolate the waste from its source and then recycle it.

One of the major causes of waste is overpopulation in India, as population growth would lead to an increase in waste.

This threat of waste has also been generated by rapid urbanization without proper planning as there is a major problem of throwing the trash.

Waste treatment plants have been built to efficiently dispose of the waste; as a result, manures and energy are obtained from the waste by individuals.

Many countries have developed these types of plants in which waste is transformed into manure and electrical energy is converted into other waste.

Importance of Waste Management

Waste management is one of the important methods for controlling pollution. It helps in reducing the effects of waste or garbage on the environment, people’s lives, natural resources etc. it makes our atmosphere friendly or we can say that waste management helps in making our surrounding positive. It also includes the reuse and recycling of many objects or resources like cans, papers, glass etc.

There are a lot of things which need to be considered while managing wastes like methods of disposal, environment conditions, transportation of waste, recycling methods, etc. there are different types of waste like solid waste, liquid waste, gaseous waste and hazardous waste. All these need to be managed differently. Waste management can also be considered to be a method which helps in the cleaning of the environment.

Categorization of Wastes

Wastes can be categorized in two parts : organic wastes and inorganic wastes.

Organic Waste - The wastes which can be decomposed easily in the soil and eventually become good fertilizers for plants and trees, are the organic wastes. Organic wastes include food wastes, green wastes, non hazardous wastes, etc. These wastes are good for the growth of crops.

Inorganic Waste - The wastes which do not decompose or take years to decompose are the inorganic wastes. These are the waste which causes soil pollution. The main example of inorganic waste is ‘plastic’ as it takes a lot of years to decompose. Even during rainy seasons, the plastics used to get stuck in drains and sewages and cause flooding. In many places, plastics are being burnt which generates harmful gases which are injurious to human’s lungs.

Methods of Waste Management

Waste can be disposed of through several methods and techniques. Some of them are -

Recycling - The most important method for waste management is recycling. It is a more useful method among others because it doesn’t need any other resources and even utilizes the waste material. It converts the waste products into new products or we can say that it reduces the waste and useless materials.

Landfills - It is considered to be the most common method of waste management. In this process, waste disposal is being done by burying the waste in the land which eventually decomposes over the years.

Composting - Composting is an easy and natural way of waste management. It converts the organic waste into fertilizers.

Conclusion

Now, you must be aware of what waste management is and its need. So should always throw the garbage in a proper way so that it can be managed and handled properly. It is our responsibility to contribute towards the management of waste so that our earth can be pollution free and become a green and healthy society.

FAQs on Waste Management Speech

1. Why is waste management important ?

Waste management is considered to be important as it helps in making our environment better. It helps in the decrease of pollution which is one of the major threats to our environment. Wastes also affect the lives of many people especially those who live near the area of the waste dumping regions. Waste management helps in making the lives of people disease free which are being caused because of these wastes. It eventually helps in the betterment of the health of people.

2. Why is it necessary to dump organic and inorganic waste separately?

It is very important to dump the organic and inorganic waste in separate dustbins because it helps in managing the wastes more properly which contributes towards reducing the environmental pollution. Organic wastes are biodegradable and can be disposed of easily. Whereas, inorganic waste doesn’t dispose off or if it does so, it takes years to do so. Hence, it will be easier and feasible to dump the organic and inorganic wastes separately.

Speech on Water Pollution for Students and Children

Water pollution is a very serious environmental issue that we are facing right now. Water gets polluted when the physical, biological and chemical properties deteriorate due to human activities. Further, water pollution is responsible for impacting the lives of humans and animals as well. It is extremely hazardous to the environment and must be curbed right away. You might think that the water you drink daily is clean but it contains pollutants. Thus, we need to adopt measures that will help prevent water pollution on a global level for a healthier lifestyle.

Critical Concern

As mentioned above, water pollution is a significant threat to the ecosystem and the sustenance of life. The major cause responsible for water pollution is definitely the industries that dump waste into water bodies. They do not properly treat the waste and directly dump the harmful toxins in the water.

Thus, it hampers the quality of aquatic life badly. The aquatic species consume the harmful chemical which is present in the water and die because of it. Consequently, it is a huge threat to the ecosystem whether on land or water. Moreover, these chemicals also reduce the oxygen content in the water bodies.

Further, we see that the brutal use of fertilizers and pesticides that are done in the agricultural sector pollutes the water bodies greatly. When the discharge is not regulated and sanitation is not proper, it contributes to water pollution. Moreover, the humans and animals who consume this water from the polluted water bodies have a negative impact on their health.

Besides, these polluted water bodies have become home to bacteria and germs. Thus, they cause waterborne diseases and epidemics like diarrhoea, cholera, and more. Similarly, they also contaminate underground water when it seeps through the soil.

Thus, we need to prevent water pollution by adopting proper waste management policies. A single organization, government or individual won’t be able to accomplish this task. We need to do it collectively.

Ways to Prevent Water Pollution

We can all collectively control water pollution to a large extent. We need to realize that pollution’s solution is dilution. There are several methods through which one can control water pollution. To begin with, the sewage pollutants contain a lot of toxic materials. So, they must be chemically treated in order to make them less toxic.

A factor which contributes to this pollution is organic insecticides so we can reduce it by using less stable chemicals in their manufacturing process. Further, there must be regulation of industries, as they shouldn’t be allowed to dump the waste into water bodies.

Similarly, there must be proper sewage treatment plants in every city. This will allow using the same water in factories and also irrigation. Moreover, this water can also serve as a great fertilizer. In addition, we must also adopt measures to reduce the occurrences of oil spills.

On an individual level, we can also do our bit to prevent water pollution. Begin by saying no to plastic as it remains in our oceans for thousands of years. Reuse the items so there is less waste production. Try limiting the use of detergents and bleaches, and if necessary, use environment-friendly detergents.

All in all, it is very essential for all to start practising a lifestyle which does not contribute to water pollution. We need water to survive and there won’t be life without it. Thus, to make the world a better place for the upcoming generations, we must start working from now.

The NHL is likely headed to Utah. Here’s how Jazz owner Ryan Smith became first in line for Arizona Coyotes

Smith, owner of the utah jazz and real salt lake, had several things fall in his favor..

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith, on the red carpet before the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, at the Jon M. Huntsman Center, on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023.

As soon as Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman sat down for dinner after an NBA Board of Governors meeting last year, the state of Utah has been on hockey watch.

That meeting of the minds reportedly occurred in March 2023. Smith had just bought Real Salt Lake the year before, and was more than two years removed from buying the Utah Jazz .

So why does it seem like Smith came out of nowhere to actually have his dreams of the NHL in Utah potentially spoken into existence as early as next week?

“I think the fact that he’s been able to really accelerate discussions with Gary Bettman at the NHL level … shows the credibility that he’s had,” said Walter Franco, principal at Victus Advisors, a sports market research firm based in Park City. “Also, he’s been able to show the value that he would bring by being a member of that exclusive club.”

Multiple reports say Smith and the NHL have a deal in place to relocate the Arizona Coyotes. According to multiple reports, the team’s general manager met with players on Friday night to confirm the rumored relocation.

An official relocation announcement is expected next week, multiple reports say.

How Smith jumped the line

Smith’s purchases of the Jazz and RSL were more typical because, in a sense, both were for sale.

With the Jazz, he had made overtures before to former owner Gail Miller about buying the team. Although he was surprised when it actually became available, the rest of the process occurred as normal, albeit behind the scenes.

(Ross D. Franklin | AP) Fans watch as players warm up prior to the Arizona Coyotes' home-opening NHL hockey game against the Winnipeg Jets at the 5,000-seat Mullett Arena in Tempe, Ariz., Oct. 28, 2022.

With RSL, the organization had been looking for a new owner for more than a year. Smith, already having purchased the Jazz and being a local, was in prime position to step in. He later did so with Philadelphia 76ers owner David Blitzer and other investors.

But it’s a different story with the NHL and what’s happening with the Coyotes.

From a business perspective, Smith’s push to get an NHL team coincided with the unraveling in Phoenix. The Coyotes’ search for a permanent home hit roadblocks at every turn, most notably last May when local voters shot down the franchise’s plan to build a new arena in Tempe.

Going into the vote, the Coyotes were confident. They were going to buy the land, rezone it to build an entertainment district and get a few tax breaks.

“It kind of seemed like it was going to pass,” said Brandon Brown, a reporter at the Phoenix Business Journal. “... They were going to have a little bit of a tax incentive, but no straight up money was going to come from the city of Tempe. So it wasn’t a very big ask as far as sports arenas come. People in the state weren’t going to pay millions, or hundreds of millions.”

Instead, it was voted down in a resounding vote. Brown noted that there were labor unions rallying against tax breaks for ultra-wealthy sports owners.

But it was also a sign that the support for the Coyotes wasn’t as strong in the Phoenix area.

“I thought the organization was in trouble back then,” said Remy Mastey, who has covered the team for the Hockey News.

While the Coyotes’ push for a permanent arena teetered, Smith leveraged his desire to the league. In January, he formally started the process with the NHL to get a team to Utah .

There were other cities jockeying for a team before Salt Lake — including Houston, Quebec, Atlanta and others — but Smith has jumped the line.

At least one reason is he’s able, and willing, to pay more. The last team added to the league, the Seattle Kraken, was bought for $650 million. This time, the price tag Smith is willing to pay is closer to $1.3 billion, according to several reports.

“If he is offering an absurd amount of money for the team, how could the Coyotes say no?” Brown said. “If Salt Lake does leapfrog everyone, I’m sure it is a money thing. Just willing to pay more than anyone else.”

Franco said what could be attracting the NHL regarding Smith as an owner is not only his deep pockets, but his potential value to the league’s future. He co-founded Qualtrics, an experience management company, and partnered with the Jazz before he owned the team. With Qualtrics surveys and other technology being so prevalent in businesses — including sports — around the world, Franco could see the NHL benefiting from that.

“Is he going to be able to elevate NHL to another degree with the services that he offers?” Franco said. “Is he going to help NHL develop longer-lasting partnerships? For example, will Qualtrics be the official survey provider for the NHL and provide them with additional innovational technology that’s going to help them maximize efficiencies and maximize profit?”

Utah strongly welcomes an NHL team

As Arizona and its cities in the Phoenix area are effectively, and possibly inadvertently, pushing the Coyotes out of the state, Utahns at the local and state levels have made it clear they’d embrace an NHL team with open arms.

Need an arena? The Utah Legislature passed a bill that would fund a hockey arena with $1 billion of taxpayer money . In the meantime, Smith has said publicly that an NHL team would temporarily play in the Delta Center while the new, hockey specific arena gets built. Delta Center is used primarily by the Utah Jazz, but it’s been transformed for various other events — including Frozen Fury, which features two NHL teams. This September, the L.A. Kings face off against the Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Need government support? During the legislative session, state leaders met with Bettman and released a public statement that it did so. Gov. Spencer Cox, Senate President J. Stuart Adams and House Speaker Mike Schultz were in the meeting.

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Los Angeles Kings fans celebrate after a Kings goal, in Hockey action between the San Jose Sharks and the Los Angeles Kings, at the Delta Center, on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023.

“Utah has the foundation of being the next major sports and entertainment destination in the United States,” a Senate statement read. “With the fastest growing economy, youngest population in the country and a long history as a premier winter sports destination, Utah is excited about the prospect of being the new home to an NHL franchise.”

The legislature even went so far as to pass a joint resolution supporting an NHL team in the state. While that is not legally binding, Sen. Daniel McCay, who initially proposed the resolution, said it sends a message to those who want to do business with Utah or trying to bring their businesses there.

A short turnaround

Smith had the luxury of taking his time when it came to assuming ownership of the Jazz, RSL and eventually the Utah Royals FC . With the Coyotes relocating to Utah, he’ll only have a few months to get everything situated before the 2024-25 season starts in October.

“He has to hire a lot of people for the hockey organization,” Brown said. “Sponsors, all new employees. It would be really, really fast.”

Ideally, Smith would’ve waited for an NHL team to be officially for sale or for the league to expand. That would’ve given him a longer runway. Asked on “The Pat McAfee Show” last month whether he prefers an expansion team or an existing team, specifically the Coyotes, Smith said, “Look, I think our goal is NHL, and I’ll leave the rest on how that happens to Gary.”

From the NHL’s perspective, the Coyotes were running out of time to find a new stadium. Owner Alex Meruelo is trying to win a land auction in Phoenix dated June 27. It is valued at almost $70 million. The prevailing theory was that the team would relocate regardless, and Meruelo would be first in line for an expansion team if he won the auction.

Fortunately, a team in Utah could be very well received right off the bat. Utah Grizzlies fans have said they’d support an NHL team if one arrived, although some fear they’ll struggle to pay the NHL’s higher ticket prices.

Where a new team may struggle at first, Franco said, is scaling up to include casual fans. That might be difficult in a market where the Salt Lake City metropolitan area houses around 1.3 million people, some of whom already regularly attend Jazz, RSL, Royals or college athletics events.

“This new NHL team would have to attract those casual fans that probably are already built-in hardcore Jazz fans, that now you’re trying to pull them in, or you’re trying to pull in new fans from the Salt Lake market, north of Salt Lake, or south of Salt Lake,” Franco said. “So there are a lot of challenges there.”

Franco added that bigger markets like Los Angeles and New York tend to have an easier time filling stadiums of their multiple professional teams merely because they have higher populations.

Jeff Robbins, CEO of the Utah Sports Commission, said he’s “optimistic” about an NHL team’s draw in Utah based on crowds he’s seen at preseason hockey games held at Delta Center over the past several years. Smith owns the Delta Center, making theoretically easier for a new team to have a temporary home arena before a hockey-specific one is built.

And, Robbins believes Smith is the right man for the job.

“I believe he has both the business acumen and the sports acumen to bring an NHL franchise here,” Robbins said.
