Cruise Booking for 2025

Filled in an enquiry form via the Iglu website. Received a call back from a very helpful gentleman called Steven. He was very patient, and telephoned back twice over two days when we needed to confirm dates with family, after which we booked the cruise.

Disappointed when swapping the cruise…

Disappointed when swapping the cruise as we were given different prices by different agents. Also very annoying to be told I couldn't pay a change in deposit on my American Express credit card as tis was no long accepted yet today 27.02.24 I have just paid the balance on a different cruise booked with Iglu and I paid the balance with my American Express Card. The transaction of swapping the cruise could have been much smoother.

Joining succesive cruises

We had already booked a Princess cruise with Iglu but decided to add the following cruise on the same ship. Iglu made sure that they could be joined without moving cabins.

Successful cruise booking through Iglu

I got through to an agent reasonably quickly. She was able to give me a good price for the cruise I was interested in, and she confirmed this in an email. Next day I rang to confirm the booking and the agent rang me back shortly thereafter, and we completed the booking. She was friendly, amenable and easy to deal with. A good experience so far.

Well organised, everything came as promised and on time. A little difficult to contact by phone sometimes. A dedicated contact would have been a good touch , someone to ask questions of, mainly peace of mind questions. Otherwise pretty happy with their service.

All inclusive cruise

Very impressed with Iglu. This is our first booking through them. We were looking for a future cruise and Iglu have a great choice of all inclusive cruises that include the cost of the flights and a city stay. Can’t fault anything from first contact to booking. Iglu as a company you should be more up to date with pricing though as when you call for the price advertised on line you can never offer anything like it... and we were booking there and then not calling back at a later date.... note the 4 star review for Sam...

They organised our repositioning cruise out of Rome to port Lauderdale with NCL. on 29th Nov2023. It included return flights. Although we changed our return flight, twice, to one from Atlanta, where our daughter lives, everything went like clockwork. Every final detail was spot-on and the cruise itself was great value. Well done, IGLU, and thank you for a perfectly organised holiday, despite our changes! We’ll be using you again.

Well, what a stressful time me and my wife had. We booked a last minute Iglu Cruise, 4 days in the USA, then a 7 day Cruise We were really looking forward to it. Then my bad luck started, I had a issue with getting my Esta for the USA and didn't have time to apply for a full visa, because I would not of been sorted before my Cruise holiday. So I was in a right pickle. (Then Iglu cruise rep) come to my rescue. Because I would of lost half my money. She has managed to find me a different Cruise, so I didn't need to have an Esta, She went above and beyond, We can't thank her enough for taken all the stress away. You are amazing thanks again. But remember everyone, make sure you have your eligibility sorted for Visa's, Before you book or pay any money over, it will save you stress ???? and money ????. Date of experience: 09 January 2024

“Appalling customer disservice ”

We booked a long haul flight and cruise a long time ago. They took £900 deposit for 2 people. Since booking our circumstances have changed including one of us having a DVT leading to a bilateral pulmonary embolism! The cruise was an absolute fortune and I am reluctant to fly such a long distance now after the PE. It was time to pay the balance. We emailed, we called several times they usually picked up saying I’m guessing today you want to book or pay for a cruise! When I said no to cancel they put you on hold and you are left dangling till you get fed up of the inane music and put the phone down. At long last our call was answered, the lady was pleasant enough but said there would be no refund oh and by the way there is a cancellation fee of £25 EACH. So they have taken £950 from us for absolutely nothing. I find it appalling and unbelievable it was bad enough thinking we wouldn’t get the £900 back but how can they justify the charge. The £900 in their bank for a year will have earned them interest. NEVER AGAIN IGLU.

“Iglu left us stranded and lied about refund”

Were left stranded at Ravenna cruise port 4hrs before our flight to UK, facing a 3hr drive (if we were lucky) because Iglu booked our private airport transfer from the wrong port. They’d booked a Hoppa transfer from Venice port, which had been closed to cruise ships for the last 5yrs. Iglu’s ‘emergency’ number is only operational 10:00 - 17:30 Mon - Fri, this was a Saturday. We had no option but to pay 500euros to a local taxi firm who got us there by the skin of our teeth, only to find that there had been no need for a private transfer in the first place as Iglu could have booked us onto Celebrity’s airport shuttle for $6. Iglu emailed to say our out of pocket expenses had been authorised on 8th Sept, but they didn’t even attempt payment until a week later. By chance, I rang (took ages as usual) to chase and was told that the refund had failed 4 times that morning to our card. They couldn’t tell me which card they’d tried, but agreed to pay it to my bank account. The 6 days for clearing are up tomorrow, but it’s not even showing as pending in my account, so I don’t believe them. They refuse to even discuss the refund for the price we paid for the original transfer which never materialised, let alone any compensation for the traumatic experience we were put thro. They keep throwing the 28 day complaint window at me saying they’ve got until 2nd Oct. to respond. I won’t hold my breath as they’ve never got back to me on time before. Will never ever use them again as they made a pigs ear of removing one of my party from our cruise last year due to medical reasons (after 12hrs on the phone and eventually paying the refund nearly two months later to the wrong persons credit card) but I stupidly gave them the benefit of the doubt.

“Not passing refunds from cruise line to customers”

On a river cruise in July 2022, saga cancelled second part of cruise due to low water levels and refunded money to Iglu. Iglu have not passed on refunded money to us, the customer. I have spoken and internet chatted with Iglu representatives (transcripts of chat available) but still no refund over 2 months later. Iglu representatives have on occasion boasted of the Iglu excellent customer service. DO NOT BELIEVETHEM.

“Dreadful company”

What a dreadful company. I booked 5 cabins on P and o Ventura 18 months ago with Iglu for 3 Sept 2022. They were fine until I had paid all the balance. Since then no reply’s to emails. Phone calls are cut off or not answered. I would have thought that after lockdown and covid companies would be doing their best to keep customers but obviously not Iglu. They do not care about customer service once they have your money. Fortunately it looks like we will lose our cabins because of covid isolation so we will be able to cancel the five cabins with Iglu and get a refund and we will go to another cruise company.. NEVER NEVER USE IGLU!!

Dear customer care 25/4/2022 We booked our Royal Caribbean cruise on Friday 22nd April 2022 we processed payment & received our confirmation booking reference. We were waiting on the details being emailed to us but nothing came through my husband contacted you today on live Chat to try to get details of our flights but instead we were told that you could not fulfil our booking because you couldn’t give us the flights from Glasgow unless we go via London at an extra cost to us at £1100. I was not happy whatsoever with this so I then went on to the chat & waited in the queue & was cut off 3 times without getting to speak to anyone. I eventually got through after waiting in a queue of 38 & got through to customer services live Chat , I explained my complaint & he came back & said we would have to pay the £1100 or cancel the holiday , I feel this is very very unfair & through absolutely no fault of our own. & to be perfectly honest you are advertising something you cannot fulfil. To me this is false advertising. I was still talking when I was cut off with no warning obviously because it was after 6.00pm , he didn’t explain that he was finishing the conversation & the next screen that came on was the attached, I am absolutely disgusted with this treatment I would like to know why you are advertising & selling holidays you cannot supply. “Terrible, nearly non existent, customer service.”

When you want to book a cruise Iglu are great, but if anything goes wrong they are terrible. I have had one cruise cut short at the start of the pandemic and two cruises cancelled since. As recompense for the curtailed cruise I was promised a substantial future cruise credit so booked a 3 week cruise of West Africa, which was again cancelled by the cruise company. After waiting over 3 months, and spending in excess of two hours oh the phone and sending several emails, I finally received my money back; but the cruise credit has been withdrawn! I have repeatedly attempted to contact Iglu by phone and have sent emails about this but have not had one single response from them. This despite having spent in excess of £50,000 with the company in the previous 4 or 5 years! Does this company even have a customer service department? If they do, then they all need to be retrained as to what “customer service” really means! I shall not be using this company again.o

“The worst customer service ”

The only way to communicate with this company. 2 1/2 hours on the phone no email chat line 1 hour and then cut off. Please note that I require changes to this reservation. The second person, is now unable to participate in this 101 nights World Cruise. Therefore he needs to be cancelled from the booking. I will continue with my booking as a solo traveler in the same cabin (which adjoins my sister’s) and take on the new Cunard price for the trip. I understand that Cunard will require a cancellation fee of £3,045.35 in respect of his cancellation. Also that according to the terms and conditions for your agency you may impose a cancellation fee which is calculated as follows (This agency calculates2.5% of the booking value(capped at £100 per person). This fee should be between between £25 and £100 but, as my family have in excess of £80,000 bookings with you, that extra fee could be waived. I shall be grateful for written confirmation of my amended booking and the new Cunard price as a solo traveler. Thank you

“VERY VERY poor customer relations”

Booked a cruise with Iglu on may 2021. it was for a 7 night sailing on MSC Magnifica departing Southampton on 15/10/22 and travelling to Northern Europe. I booked 3 balcony cabins and drinks packages. This was family cruise. Noticed recently that the cruise was no longer being advertised by any cruise agent. Checked Iglu website and found out the MSC Magnifica was sailing the Med on the date I should be boarding. Phoned MSC who confirmed my cruise had been changed and Iglu notified. The MSC reference numbers given by Iglu at time of booking now showed a totally different cruise. I have phoned Iglu several times and used their chat function but they insist my Northern Europe cruise is still going ahead even although their own website says different. I wish to book another family cruise but cant untill I am officially advised my cruise is cancelled. I certainly would NOT recommend this company

Booked a cruise with Iglu that was cancelled by Princess due to Covid. Our kids were not double vaccinated so could not board. Been waiting 6 weeks for a refund of £740. Iglu told us we would have to wait up to 12 weeks for our money back, although we know that the cruise company have already refunded Iglu. We have booked 5 cruises with Iglu, would never use this company again, they have no respect for their clients and I seriously doubt we will see our money again. Very underhand and suspicious.

Booked with Norwegian (NCL) in 2020. Booking passed to Iglu as we were past customer. Booking for June 2020 cancelled due to Covid. NCL had a 'full refund/on board credit' policy. I asked Iglu to confirm we would get a 100% credit if cancelling and email confirmed 'yes' . Later only £250 of £350 credited. NCL say Iglu were offered full refund or standard cancellation with £100 charge. They chose the latter! Cannot get my £100 back.

I booked a Marella Adult only cruise for our 50th wedding anniversary yesterday. Your agent couldn't have been more helpful. She was very patient and understanding as we developed exactly what we required. We used up a considerable amount of telephone time but she was always courteous and friendly. She made a few knowledgeable suggestions with regard to ship and cabin choice which made choosing easier for us. Both my wife and I appreciated her help immensely. Thank you Iglu.

I was extremely impressed with the agent who dealt with my enquiry and subsequent booking. All was explained very clearly, he was easy to understand and no pressure was put on me to book at that point although I decided to. I've used Iglu on many occasions over the years and have always found the staff to be helpful and knowledgeable but in this instance the agent exceeded even my best expectations. The cruise itinerary was just what I was looking for, hopefully a bit of winter sun and at this point in time I don't wish to fly anywhere so a Southampton return fitted the bill. I thoroughly recommend Iglu to anyone who is looking to book a cruise.

I contacted the two top discount UK cruise agents for the cruise we had in mind. We were currently on holiday in Turkey so it was not a simple phone call. The agent from Iglu came shining through, overcoming our communication difficulties and offering an extra discount. The other was not even in touch. He was easy to talk to and straight to the point. I would have no hesitation in booking with Iglu and especially this agent again.

Telephoned IGLU regarding booking a…

Telephoned IGLU regarding booking a Cunard cruise and spoke with Derek. We required two balcony staterooms and within a few minutes our booking was complete with a confirmation e-mail being received with full details of our booking. Quick fast and cheaper than the cruise…

Quick fast and cheaper than the cruise line direct, only reason 4 stars is that deposit was higher than cruise line which was offering low deposit and it would have been better if Iglu had matched this

Cruise Enquiry 2022

James the cruise advisor was able to answer all my questions about my new cruise booking and was able to provide all the details I needed. I had a question related to my deposit on a previous booking and James asked me for a convenient time to call me the following day once he had investigated . James called me at the time agreed and was able to provide a full explanation of what happened. Booked via Antony. Forced holiday as cruise with Royal Caribbean canx by R. Carib. A. very patient as quite convoluted and delays in paying by self led to repeat calls from A. to secure payment. A. quite persistant and polite. Good service. Now to get refund from for lost hotel deposits and flight payments caused by R. Carib. canx. They think they owe me payments made for cruise only. Cruise price was excellent and packed with flights and transfers. Mark also managed to get connecting flights from Newcastle to make the travel far easier. Iglu Cruise Co - Review on booking procedure by Sales Representative Dennis

The representative rang me early morning regarding my request to go on a cruise. He gave me verbally a breakdown of the itinerary and then emailed it to me promptly. He answered all my queries and then later in the afternoon he helped me to choose our cabin and answered all my questions and agreed a price. He was very professional as well as being helpful. Looking forward now to our cruise and very happy with the prompt and personal attention I was given by the sales representative Dennis from the team at Iglu.

Cruise and land package efficiently put together

Mark put together the exact cruise and land package we wanted at the right price. All the online information was easy to check and follow on the Iglu portal. Any queries were quickly answered by email and phone.

Isaac was very helpful to answer my questions and most of all, got the proper pricing directly from the cruise liner when Iglu Cruise's website seemed to be displaying incorrect prices for the cruise that I was interested in. It was a shame that the "welcome1" promo code could not be applied to this holiday, as it was the main reason that I booked another cruise holiday with Iglu so soon after our return from the last cruise. Our last cruise holiday costed more than 10k, so I thought the least that Iglu can do for us is to give a small discount on the next cruise, booking within 30 days of return. This is no fault of Isaac. I am just expressing disappointment of how poor Iglu Cruise's incentive scheme is for repeat customers.

5* Service from Cruise Advisor

Dom, our cruise advisor was fantastic from start to finish. After the initial contact via website, he provided a comprehensive quote within 20 minutes. Following this I contacted back a few days later once we had reviewed, he was not on shift, but he rang us back within 5 minutes of his shift start. He ran through the quote over the phone and explained everything we needed to know. During the call, Dom, was warm friendly professional and it was a real pleasure to deal with him. Much to say we booked the cruise with him. Thank you Dom - you were amazing :)

Absolutely dreadful customer service

Absolutely dreadful customer service. I have to admit that throughout the booking process, the company is probably one of the best out there but unfortunately the chinks in the armour become apparent when you have to contact them to make any changes. The cruise line won't speak to you because you have booked through an agent and the agent want to blame the cruise line. No win situation. Will not use again.

Booking was simple enough, but I wasn't informed that I had to pay the full balance, as we were booking within the four months before departure. After a quick transfer from savings account to current account, all was well and we secured our cruise.

We have been very impressed with Iglu. We booked flights, hotel , a Princess Panama cruise and all transfers through them as a package. We have just returned from this trip and the joins were seamless . The Biltmore was a lovely hotel in LA.to have stayed in for a couple of nights - such a great history and so well kept. We were tired when we arrived and it was great to be able to buy a meal in the bar and bring it back to our room….breakfast was good in the restaurant in the mornings. All transfers were with good companies who provided an excellent reliable service. We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise on the Emerald Princess as well. Our first cruise… Am glad we used Iglu and hopefully will be able to do so again in the future.

MSC have moved sailing date to 4/11/22. I would say that was a major change and, in any event, I am unable to travel then.

Asked Iglu for full deposit back because I thought my contract was with them. Am I wrong in thinking that?

MSC only interested in moving me to another cruise and it would be a lot more expensive.

Iglu impossible to get hold of (CHAT or PHONE). Would not use again and cannot recommend.

Who can I claim the deposit back from since the cruise they want me to go on is nothing like what I originally booked?

If you read the legislation you will see that in the UK, the TA is the vendor ... I had a similar issue with a TA who wanted to persuade me otherwise. One very nice email asking for the company secretary's name as I wanted to know who to send the County Court summons to resulted in a refund being processed within days.

Iglu cruise and flights

Cool Cruiser

My husband and I are due to sail on the Glory on the 20th September 2020.  We booked a package deal which included flights, transfers and 3 nights in New Orleans before the cruise.  We have been contacted today to discuss  flights.  We would prefer to fly from Manchester rather than London Heathrow but our agent tell us there is a £300 difference each so they’re pushing us to take London Heathrow flights.  My investigations via Skyskanner show there is only around at £60 difference in the flights.  They’re also giving us return flights the day after we disembark they ship which just isn’t convenient due to time off work etc.

Are the agents playing us here?  Is it somehow more beneficial for them to get us to fly from London Heathrow?

The agency is likely dealing with negotiated bulk fares, which are not what you would necessarily find with public search tools.  Thus, any differential in pricing between routings is likely the difference of those negotiated fares - which may or not correlate to publicly available pricing.

Also, when you buy a "package", you get the whole deal as put together by the agency (or which the agency is reselling).  You don't get to buy a package and then say "well, even though we bought this, we'd rather fly through MAN than LHR.  At the price we like.  And we want to come home a different day than what you gave us".

Of course, you did research this all before committing to the purchase.

You're likely comparing apples to oranges....skyscanner may be showing you whatever the airline is selling directly, and your agent is getting info that is restricted to some kind of consolidator or bulk fares that were arranged out of London; by changing to a London departure, or adding a MAN-LHR leg, is thus adding to the cost.

honestly, I didn't read Flyertalker's reply as unhelpful or unempathetic; I thought it was a pretty good summary of the risk of buying a package.  Now it sounds like you were given a price and flights weren't even available yet?   That's a clear indicator of getting a negotiated/consolidator fare, and if that's the case, I'd say you were somewhat lucky that even the original quoted price was still available, even with the departure date and airport that weren't your first choice.

What is the earliest time of day that the cruise line recommends for flights? What airline are they offering your flights on? Does that airline have flights that connect well on a Sunday? 

We fly to Manchester every few years to visit family. Getting connections to line up can be a challenge and judging how long to allow in LHR or ? for potential terminal changes and immigration/customs can be worrisome. 

It is odd to me that the agency is not offering a flight out of a north of England airport --or is the agency not  located near you?

A big thank you to Joanne who after many phone calls following three cancelled cruises to different colleagues of hers Joanne did it for us! Cruise and Stay Package - …

Booked Paradise Island Cruise and stay in Turtle Beach Hotel afterwards with Sue Thomas. I had made 2 previous calls to Sue who was 100% on the ball and very diligent in her research and advice. When we had made our decision Sue took every effort to Liasie with Simone who was booking for our friends on the same terms so that we got a cabin next door to each other. Really efficiently done. Could not be happier and will regard Iglu as my turn to Cruise planners/bookers in the future - excellent service - thanks!
