The Milwaukee Brewers' home opener is getting closer. Here's what to know, especially about parking.

parking tour sequana

The Milwaukee Brewers' grounds crew has removed the outfield's covering at American Family Field. And that, of course, means it's almost time for baseball in Milwaukee.

While the Brewers' regular season opener will be in New York at the end of March, it won't be long before the Crew will be home.

Here's what to know about the Brewers' home opener, including parking — which will look quite different from years' past — how to get tickets and more.

This story will be updated as the regular season approaches. Check back for updates.

When is the Milwaukee Brewers' 2024 regular season opener? And, is it away?

The Brewers regular season kicks off against the New York Mets at Citi Field on March 28. Just in case weather would postpone it, there's a built-in off day March 29.

The series resumes March 30 and 31.

When is the Milwaukee Brewers' 2024 home opener? Who are they playing?

After the series against the Mets, the Brewers will head to American Family Field to host the Minnesota Twins for a two-game series.

The Crew's home opener will be at 3:10 p.m. April 2. Game 2 of the series will be at 12:10 p.m. April 3.

Where is American Family Field located?

1 Brewers Way, Milwaukee

How do I get tickets to the Milwaukee Brewers home opener?

Brewers tickets, including for the home opener, can be purchased at mlb.com/brewers/tickets or by calling 414-902-4000.

Ticket prices for the home opener range from $22 to $145 (before taxes/fees).

Note: During the early part of the season, outfield terrace seats won't be available for purchase for most Monday through Thursday home games. These seats will be available for the home opener, however.

American Family Field debuting new parking system this Brewers season

If you're planning to park at American Family Field this season, there's  a new process  for that.

Workers will no longer be collecting payments at lot entrances. However, they'll continue to direct fans to parking spaces and help with the new process.

Fans who want to park at the ballpark can :

  • Buy prepaid digital parking, which they'll need to activate by typing in their license plate on the MLB Ballpark App.
  • Purchase day-of parking, which is more expensive, by scanning a QR code posted on signs in the lot and entering their license plate and payment information.

Either way, attendees  need to buy parking before entering the stadium to avoid getting ticketed.

Advance parking rates range from $13 to $20, with day-of parking rates ranging from $15 to $40.

Gates primarily open three hours before the start of a game. However, on games that begin at 6:40 p.m. Monday-Thursday, lots open 2½ hours before first pitch.

Other ways to get to American Family Field

Other ways to get to American Family Field include local shuttle services, rideshares such as Uber or Lyft, taxi cabs, bicycles, and two MCTS bus routes that are within walking distance of the ballpark, according to the Brewers' website.

For more on these transportation alternatives: mlb.com/brewers/ballpark/transportation/alternate-transportation .

What is American Family Field's bag policy?

According to the Brewers' website , bags that meet these requirements will be permitted into the ballpark:

  • Single-compartment bags that are 9" x 5" x 2" or smaller.
  • Clear single-compartment bags that are 12" x 12" x 6" or smaller.
  • One-gallon clear seal top bags.
  • Diaper bags and medical/family needs bags.

For more details on the bag policy, visit mlb.com/brewers/ballpark/security . That's also where you can find lists of permitted and prohibited items.

All carry-in items are subject to inspection, the website said.

How is the grounds crew getting ready for the Brewers' home opener?

In preparation for the home opener, the Brewers' grounds crew — led by senior director of grounds Ryan Woodley — removed the 20-piece blanket that was covering Am Fam Field's 2.3-acre outfield Monday, according to a news release from the ball club.

Over the next few weeks, the grounds crew will use agronomical techniques, including the use of grow lamps and natural sunlight, to ensure that the surface is in "perfect condition" for the team's return, the release said.

Where can I find more info on the Milwaukee Brewers?

The Brewers' website can be found at mlb.com/brewers .

Syracuse auditor finds it’s too easy to avoid parking tickets - especially in some places

S yracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse’s parking enforcers are writing far few tickets in the final five hours of their shifts, and they’re “virtually non-existent” in some areas where paid street parking exists, according to an analysis by City Auditor Alexander Marion .

The auditor will release a report today that raises concerns about gaps in the city’s public parking enforcement. The report revealed some substantial differences in when and where parking tickets are issued.

The analysis found that enforcement of metered parking was “virtually non-existent” in three areas: James Street, Franklin Square and South Salina Street south of Onondaga Street.

Marion’s office took an in-depth look at Syracuse’s parking ticket data for the calendar year 2023, when more than 62,000 parking tickets were issued. Of those, 13,403 cited motorists for time violations, meaning they either didn’t pay the $2 per hour rate at all or they stayed in their space beyond the two-hour time limit.

Although the city’s paid on-street parking is in effect from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and other parking rules are supposed to be enforced around the clock, 62% of tickets were written between 9 a.m. and noon. The auditor’s report described that amount as “staggering.”

Syracuse has nine budgeted parking checkers positions, which are paid between $35,500 and $38,300 per year. The report said these parking checkers all generally work the same shift of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Marion said the enforcement gap translates into lost parking ticket revenue, which totaled $3.5 million for the city fiscal year that ended in June 2023. Suggestions include adding more parking checkers, staggering their schedules and hiring a dedicated supervisor.

“The city can easily do more to increase parking revenues,” the report states.

In a response to the auditor’s report on behalf of Mayor Ben Walsh’s administration, Chief Administration Officer Frank Caliva said Syracuse Police Department, which manages parking checkers, is investigating the hourly enforcement gap but also making some immediate change “to ensure parking violations are enforced throughout the entirety of a Parking Checker’s shift.”

Caliva said a supervisor will be hired for the parking checker unit, and the city’s information technology department will make changes “to better track location and productivity.”

No parking checkers are working between 5 and 6 p.m. despite paid parking still being in effect, and none are on the clock on Saturdays. That leaves all paid time enforcement on that weekend day to police officers. As a result, Saturdays generated the lowest number of tickets at 1,955. That’s even lower than the 2,467 tickets written on Sundays, when paid parking is not in effect.

Other major parking violations cited in 2023 included violations of odd-even parking rules in place in most city neighborhoods and cars parked publicly without inspections or registrations.

Marion’s report also revealed some substantial differences in where parking tickets are issued. Just three tickets were written on James Street, where metered parking exists in the Eastwood neighborhood. No tickets were written in Franklin Square. Downtown and the University Hill area saw the heaviest enforcement.

In addition to looking at where and when tickets are issued, Marion’s report reviewed the city’s parking rules signage, public parking pricing strategies, the use of technology in enforcement and the traffic code. It gives 16 recommendations, including the suggestion that the city reorganize parking policy under a new department, the Department of Parking and Mobility.

While the police department oversees parking enforcement, the public works department maintains the infrastructure, the finance department oversees parking ticket fine collections and private operators collect meter revenue and run some of the city-owned garages.

“Consolidating the city’s various parking operations into a single department could help create clear parking objectives, achieve efficiencies, and improve customer service,” the report states.

In the Walsh administration’s response, Caliva acknowledged the coordination challenges that exist in the city’s parking program and said Chief Operating Officer Corey Driscoll Dunham will bring department leaders together to discuss the feasibility of Marion’s suggestion and discuss ideas for better aligning staff involved in the parking program.

The administration also agreed with several other recommendations in the report. It said it would introduce legislation to the common council that would establish a new “Blocking A Bicycle Lane” violation and increase penalties for violations related to public safety and accessibility.

Sequana Tower Signs AccorHotels to 12-Year Lease

Hines france successfully helps secure one of the largest transactions of 2015.

(PARIS) – Hines, the international real estate firm, announces a long-term lease at Sequana Tower in Issy-les-Moulineaux near Paris. AccorHotels, Europe’s largest hotel operator, has signed a 12-year lease, beginning in January 2016, for the entire 43,000-square-meter (462, 848-square-foot) tower.

Sequana Tower is a Class A office building located in one of the main office submarkets southwest of Paris. The deal has enabled Hines France, Asset Manager for Sequana Tower, to provide an optimum response to the objectives of its investors by securing a long-term rental income.

“The lease signed by AccorHotels in Sequana Tower marks a significant step forward for Hines France. In 2015, in a real estate market that has been characterized by the absence of large transactions, we are pleased to have secured this major transaction which enables us to create value for our investors by the signature of a long-term lease,” commented Xavier Musseau, managing director of Hines France.

Patrick Albrand, CEO of Hines France, adds, “The expertise deployed in this transaction by our Investment Management team fits perfectly into the historical identity of Hines France since its creation in 1995. Sequana Tower's high-profile architecture, its commitment to the environment, and the attention given to the comfort of its tenants are all factors of our Group's culture.”

Hines is a privately owned global real estate investment firm founded in 1957 with locations in 185 cities in 19 countries. Hines has $84.9 billion of assets under management, including $42.7 billion for which Hines provides fiduciary investment management services, and $42.2 billion for which Hines provides third-party property-level services. In 2014, Hines completed over $8 billion in transactions on behalf of its investment management clients. The firm has 104 developments currently underway around the world. Historically, Hines has developed, redeveloped or acquired more than 1,000 properties, totaling over 339 million square feet. The firm’s current property and asset management portfolio includes 511 properties, representing over 176 million square feet. With extensive experience in investments across the risk spectrum and all property types, and a pioneering commitment to sustainability, Hines is one of the largest and most-respected real estate organizations in the world. First on WTOP: Thousands fined for driving, parking in DC’s bus lanes

Thousands of people have received tickets for driving or parking in D.C.’s dedicated bus lanes, ever since a program that aims to make buses safer and more efficient advanced to its second phase earlier this year .

As part of its Clear Lanes initiative, D.C.’s Department of Transportation started giving citations in January to those illegally driving, parking, standing or stopping in a bus lane. That followed a warning period, during which drivers weren’t fined.

All told, 2,692 citations have been issued for bus lane violations  since Jan. 29, according to DDOT data obtained by WTOP. However, Acting Director Sharon Kershbaum said it’s still too soon to determine whether the program has been effective.

It usually takes a few months to see a drop in citations, she said.

“The goal of Clear Lanes is really behavior change,” Kershbaum said. “We want to make sure that we don’t have vehicles that are blocking the bus zone or the bus lane.”

The bus lanes are spread out across the city, and are usually painted red with block lettering. Many also have signs nearby.

Driving, parking, standing or stopping in a designated bus lane comes with a $100 fine. Cameras mounted on buses take pictures of violators. The vehicle information is then sent directly to DDOT.

“With our priority bus lanes, we want to make sure that our buses can continue to move quickly,” Kershbaum said. “When you have a vehicle that is parked or just stopping in the middle of a bus lane, and the bus needs to get out of the lane to drive around it, that dramatically slows the speed of the bus.”

As a result of that, Kershbaum said the whole route takes longer, too.

The city is building 25 miles of priority bus lanes, she said, enabling buses to get through routes faster. But, “the key of it is, we can’t have people blocking those priority bus lanes.”

With a combination of enforcement and priority bus lanes, Kershbaum said other cities have seen about 30% efficiency improvements “in terms of how long it takes to get from one segment of a route.”

The initial phase of the program, which launched in November, focused on bus stops, rather than bus lanes. Drivers parking, standing or stopping in areas around bus stops on certain routes started receiving $100 fines in November.

A total of 17,885 of the bus zone citations have been issued since Jan. 29, far more than the bus lane violations, according to DDOT data.

When drivers block the area around a bus stop, Kershbaum said, “It means that the buses have to actually stay in the roadway. And you’ve got people that are walking in between cars. It’s incredibly dangerous.”

In the case of speed cameras, Kershbaum said it takes four to six months before there’s a gradual decline in citations, indicating a potential change in driver behavior.

“I’m imagining it’s going to be similar with Clear Lanes,” Kershbaum said. “The first time you get ticketed, that’s going to be the realization, ‘I can’t do this anymore.'”

Madonna's Celebration Tour 2024 in Phoenix: Ultimate guide to her Footprint Center concert

parking tour sequana

Madonna’s Celebration Tour 2024, which makes its way to Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix on Saturday, March 16, is truly cause for celebration.

Pegged to the 40th anniversary of “Holiday,” the singer’s first of no fewer than 71 Top 40 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, it marks the first time Madonna has toured the hits without an album to promote.

It’s a career retrospective tour touching on musical highlights that stretch from 1983's self-titled debut to 2019's “Madame X” and all the sweet spots in between.

The opening night of the tour at the O2 Arena in London was greeted with near-universal acclaim. The Times of London praised the 2½-hour concert, which featured nearly 40 songs, as "essentially a nightclub performance on an arena scale: camp, exhibitionist, tightly drilled."

The BBC began its review with a glowing, “She's known as the Queen of Pop and, on the opening night of her Celebration World Tour, Madonna brought out her crown jewels.”

Here’s everything you need to know before you go, including where to park, the clear bag policy and whether tickets are still available.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.
