The list of the Top 30 highest-grossing concert tours of the year has been released!
Pollstar has dropped the touring data for the year and all of the concerts this year grossed $6.28 billion collectively, which is a new record.
One of the drivers in increasing tour revenue was the move from arena tours to stadium tours in 2022, with artists from all genres playing the biggest venues in the country.
Shockingly and sadly, only two women are in the Top 30 and you’re probably going to be surprised by some of the names on this list.
The data is just for North American shows instead of worldwide shows. We have some interesting info, including the average gross per show for each tour and the amount of tickets each artist sold.

Live Music Is Back in a Big Way, and These Are the 20 Shows We’re Most Excited About
Your favorite bands are hitting the road again. here’s your full guide.
Last year, when the Rolling Stones tour grossed over $130 million and the Eagles earned $59 million, “we were all doing victory dances,” says Andy Gensler, editor of the concert industry bible Pollstar . His 2021 cover headline was “The Great Return. “Then came Omicron , and we stopped dancing,” he adds.
But now things are looking up again — way up. “There are more tours getting going right now than we know what to do with,” Gensler says. “Fans have so much to choose from in 2022.” To pare down that bounty, we’ve selected the 20 acts we’re most excited to see, based on both the rarity of the event and the sheer power of the performer.

GOT BACK. NORTH AMERICAN TOUR 2022 “I said at the end of the last tour that I’d see you next time. I said I was going to get back to you. Well, I got back!” - Paul More info: https://t.co/KhK4WK8Wlr #PaulMcCartneyGotBack pic.twitter.com/106IYKd4fz — Paul McCartney (@PaulMcCartney) February 18, 2022
Paul McCartney
When: April 28-June 16
Why we’re excited: Brace yourselves. This year, the “cute” Beatle turns 80. Yet, in the lead-up to the event he has been as busy as a teenager. In 2021, Sir Paul released a solo album, McCartney III ; spoke at length with Rick Rubin for an informative docuseries, McCartney 3,2,1 ; published a 900-plus-page tome that detailed the lyrics to his classic songs; and reappeared as his younger self in the eight-hour, you-are-there Peter Jackson version of the 1970 Beatles breakup film, Get Back . In cheeky deference to that last project, Paul has titled his new tour “Got Back,” studding it with stops in cities he hasn’t played in eons, including Fort Worth (which hasn’t seen the star since a 1976 gig with Wings) and Baltimore (where he last played in 1964). One hopes the tour doesn’t wind him, because two days after it concludes, 80 candles will appear before him, begging to be blown.

Tickets for the ‘Raising the Roof’ Tour with @RobertPlant and @AlisonKrauss are now available to purchase here: https://t.co/tiigfalPmy pic.twitter.com/ZP1d4JbbxV — Robert Plant & Alison Krauss (@plantkrauss) December 20, 2021
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss
When: June 1-17
Why we’re excited: Fifteen years have passed since the former Led Zeppelin howler toured with bluegrass/country star Alison Krauss. Their understated collaboration on the Raising Sand album in 2007 became an unexpected million-seller, as well as a top Grammy winner. Even so, they didn’t offer a follow-up until this past November, with Raise the Roof, a work that weaves British traditional elements into the Americana style that defined their debut. With material that compelling, it’s doubtful any attendee will miss yet another run at “Stairway.”
Get tickets: Robert Plant and Alison Krauss
When: Now through Nov. 19
Why we’re excited: The artist who captured the full ache of teen rejection in the hit “At Seventeen” has decided to put a period on her career at 70. Thankfully, before Ian makes good on that promise, she’ll perform one last tour, in the process summarizing a 50-year run marked by consistently literary lyrics and sophisticated music. From her groundbreaking 1967 hit about an interracial romance (“Society’s Child”) through ravishing compositions like “Stars” (which has been covered by everyone from Nina Simone to Mel Tormé), Ian has distinguished herself as one of pop’s most empathic singer-songwriters.

FOO FIGHTERS LIVE IN NORTH AMERICA 2022 On sale TODAY at 10am local time!!! 🤘 https://t.co/FCmtxn4srM #FF2022 pic.twitter.com/lVxeq74qwu — Foo Fighters (@foofighters) December 3, 2021
Foo Fighters
When: April-June and July-Oct.
Why we’re excited: Dave Grohl could well be the hardest-working man in rock. In just the last year, he released a new Foo album, published a memoir and starred in a horror film, titled Studio 666 . Moreover, last June Grohl’s band became the performing equivalent of a canary in a coal mine by becoming the first act to play Madison Square Garden since the March 2020 shutdown. Now the Foos are back for a multi-continent run of shows that will shuttle between South American dates starting this month, U.S. stops beginning in late April and a European jaunt in June, only to culminate one month later with North American gigs that run straight through Halloween.

When: June 14-Aug. 13
Why we’re excited: Big changes have taken place in Chick-ville since the pandemic took hold. In June of 2020, the trio amended their name, axing the “Dixie” part to protest the term’s historic connection to slavery. One month later they released their first album in 14 years, Gaslighter , which shot straight into Billboard ’s top 5. Together, that gives the Chicks both new songs to mix in with their hits and a renewed sense of purpose.

Why we’re excited: Talk about your long goodbyes. All the way back in September of 2018, Elton began his retirement tour. Four years later, he’s still at it. This month, the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” show picked up in Europe, leading to the Rocket Man’s 75th birthday, which will take place on the 25th. Directly after that he’ll continue a world jaunt that’s set to last through 2023. But don’t get complacent. Elton may never play your town again, so now’s probably your last chance to hear “Your Song” in person.

Why we’re excited: The pandemic wasn’t the only nightmare the members of Journey had to deal with over the last two years. Half the band sued the other half over financial issues, resulting in the departure of two of their longest-standing players (Ross Valory and Steve Smith). Of course, Journey has survived far worse, including the departure of their lead singer, Steve Perry, who was replaced in 2007 by the improbably perfect Arnel Pineda. (Born in the Philippines, Pineda used to play in a Journey tribute group.) As the band approaches its 50th year, they’ve got a new album, Freedom, meant to arrive sometime during this road show.

Why we’re excited: Playing an album front to back has become a central draw of classic-rock concerts. It’s an especially enticing one when that album is Hotel California, one of the biggest sellers of all time, at 26 million and counting. To flesh out the band’s performance of it, they’ll be backed by a 46-piece orchestra and a 22-person choir. A second set each night will boast hits from the group’s other albums. Oh, and in case you’re wondering how they can re-create the creamy harmonies of those original recordings since the 2016 death of singer Glenn Frey, his son Deacon, who’s been touring with the band for the last five years, can re-create his dad’s tone to a T.

Van Morrison
When: April 24-May 10 and Oct. 7-9 (only at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas)
Why we’re excited: Van Morrison has long been known as one of the world’s greatest singers. Unfortunately, he’s just as well known as one of music’s crankiest men. On the latter front, he outdid himself over the last two years by protesting lockdowns in his Irish homeland, as well as promoting what the BBC labeled conspiracy theories about the virus. He even released three songs to amplify those views, one of which featured fellow anti-vaxxer Eric Clapton. Luckily, fans come to Van for his singing not his science, so the focus will remain the magic of “Moondance.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers
When: July 23-Sept. 18
Why we’re excited: Arguably the most creative guitarist the Chili Peppers has ever had is John Frusciante. But his history with the band has been fraught. He ditched them in 1992, only to return six years later, before leaving again in 2009. Now the talented axman is at last back in the fold for what will be his first tour with the Peppers in 15 years. What’s more, he’s featured on their new album, Unlimited Love, set to arrive later this year.

Mötley Crüe/Def Leppard/Poison/Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
When: June 16-Sept. 9
Why we’re excited: Break out the Aqua Net — hair metal lives! The most anticipated tour of the coming summer will revive the hard-partying rawk of the ’80s. Though Mötley Crüe loudly announced their retirement seven years ago, the lure of this mega-tour clearly inspired them to “un-retire.” While the three other acts on the bill can often be found on the road, the chance to see them all together may well be a singular event.

Tears for Fears
When: May 20-June 25
Why we’re excited: Rare is the heritage group that refuses to rest on their laurels. This year, Tears for Fears became one of the few by releasing a collection of new songs — their first in nearly two decades — that broke the mold. “We need new material to keep us excited,” Tears member Curt Smith recently told The New York Times . Not that the show will be a total reinvention. The old hits will still be on order.

Bonnie Raitt
When: March 28-Nov. 19
Why we’re excited: Most musicians endure the road for one reason — the thrill of the show itself. But as Raitt recently told AARP, she loves “every part of it.” Her enthusiasm shows. At 72, the singer has grown deeper than ever into the maturity of her material. Better yet, in concert she can show off more of her fleet slide-guitar work than normally turns up on her studio recordings. For this tour, she’ll add to her classics the self-penned songs from her first album in six years, Just Like That, which includes material inspired by the losses (both personal and collective) caused by the pandemic.

When: Now until April 14
Why we’re excited: The Nobel Prize winner began his “never ending tour” 24 years ago and, following a pause for COVID, he’s soldiering on through his 80th year. Dylan’s most recent album, Rough and Rowdy Ways, has earned some of his best reviews in ages. The tour will highlight an ever-changing set list plucked from the artist’s vast catalog.

Rod Stewart
When: June 11-Sept. 7
Why we’re excited: Rod titled his latest tour “The Hits,” just in case anyone might worry for a second that they wouldn’t hear “Maggie May.” Even so, the set list ventures beyond his top sellers. Some of the songs he hasn’t sung in years, including “The Killing of Georgie (Part I and II),” a groundbreaking 1976 recording that offered one of the first sympathetic portrayals of a gay person to make the pop charts.

New Edition and Jodeci
When: Now until April 10
Why we’re excited: The mid-1980s saw a bold reinvention of R&B, courtesy of the fresh beats and innovative technology of hip-hop . The resulting trend, new jack swing, greatly impacted both R&B and pop radio. Two of the cleverest, and most successful, groups in that movement were New Edition and Jodeci. Now they’ve teamed up for “The Culture” tour, adding ex-Gap Band singer Charlie Wilson for a creative trifecta.

Keith Urban
When: March 25-April 2 and May 27-Nov. 5
Why we’re excited: Like John Mayer, Keith Urban is one singer-songwriter who only shows his full talents as a guitarist live. While casual fans might expect to hear his popular songs, his most dedicated followers know that Urban’s skills as a musician will also get special play.

When: May 27-July 9
Why we’re excited: Few groups offer as visually stunning a presentation as Kraftwerk. Their shows are gorgeously designed events, with outsize images projected over the musicians that vividly illustrate the mechanical themes of the music. Even better, those images will appear in 3D, viewable through complimentary glasses given to each ticket holder. An added bonus: Kraftwerk draws exceptionally diverse crowds to their shows, comprising hip-hop fans, dance devotees, electronic aficionados, avant-gardists and stone-cold rockers.

The Zombies
When: March 28-July 5
Why we’re excited: Two years ago, when the Zombies were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, singer Colin Blunstone proved that he still commanded one of music’s most flexible voices. The band he fronts may be best known for ’60s hits like “She’s Not There” and “Time of the Season,” but they also became pioneers of chamber pop with the creation of the ornate Odyssey and Oracle . Selections from that collection will turn up at the shows, along with a clutch of new songs from an album set to arrive later this year.
Get tickets: The Zombies
Roger Waters
When: July 6-Oct. 8
Why we’re excited: Perhaps no musician has a better feel for our current world of war and environmental peril than Roger Waters. His concerts are shadowy spectacles, full of compelling menace and late-breaking redemption. Small wonder he titled his latest show “This Is Not a Drill.” Waters has described it as “a stunning indictment of corporate dystopia in which we all struggle to survive” as well as “a call to action to love, protect and share our precious and precarious planet.” The show, to be performed in the round, will cherry-pick songs from throughout Pink Floyd’s catalog along with some new pieces. Waters’ concerts have always been immersive affairs, with impeccable sound and stage design, ever attuned to the dark side.

As 2022 kicks into gear, complete with ongoing news of the troubling variety, fans and artists alike are hoping for more catharsis in the year ahead in the form of live shows .
And while it remains to be seen whether growing variant concerns will result in a shuffling of the 2022 slate of planned tours, it’s worth noting that some of the treks on the agenda—including, for example, The Weeknd ’s After Hours til Dawn Tour—were originally scheduled to take place back in 2020 .
Below, we’ve rounded up highlights from the 2022 assortment of currently scheduled tours, including lengthy routings from Tyler, the Creator and Lorde , among others. Of course, if you’re still not vaccinated as we enter a new year, you should change that . We’ve also included a pair of Vegas residencies—from Silk Sonic and Usher , respectively—in our 2022 roundup.

As the year draws to a close, the live music industry can take comfort in having achieved record-setting revenues for 2022, thanks largely to the post-pandemic boost of new festivals, global stadium tours and astronomical box office receipts, correlating to sky-high ticket prices.
Popular on Variety
Among the artists touring stadiums in 2022: the Weeknd, Coldplay, Daddy Yankee, Billy Joel, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Def Leppard & Mötley Crüe, Dua Lipa, Zac Brown, Eagles, Daddy Yankee, Iron Maiden, Blackpink, Morgan Wallen, the Lumineers, Dead & Co., Garth Brooks, Lady Gaga and countless others.
John’s 65-date “ Farewell Yellow Brick Road ” sits at No. 2 after first hitting the road more than four years ago and will continue raking in the gold as it finally wraps next summer. Because of its length and popularity, its likely the John tour will pit the English icon against another U.K. favorite — Ed Sheeran , who currently claims the highest gross ever for a single tour with his “Divide” trek that reached $776 million when it closed in 2019.
Sheeran once again hit the road this year in support of his previous records on the “Mathematics” tour, a European stadium trek, that earned $251 million gross this year and enters Pollstar’s chart at No. 3. Sheeran is also the only concert performer to hit the 3 million mark in sold tickets with 3,047,694 sold over 63 shows in 28 venues throughout the year for a massive average of 48,376 tickets sold per show.
Harry Styles’ “ Love on Tour ” sits at No. 4 in the Top 100 based on its box office glory that kicked off in September of last year with a string of North American arena dates. Stadiums followed in 2022 with the singer’s rescheduled 23-show European run that kicked off in June. He performed in 15 countries through the end of July, selling more than 638,000 tickets.
And who could forget the singer’s mini residencies — most notably, the historic string of 15 nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden. That run logged a total of 276,852 tickets sold and rang in a $63 million gross – the highest gross of the year for a single venue worldwide, according to Pollstar. Styles had another 12-night run at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum where he left with $38 million in sales from over 200,000 tickets sold.
The historic feats continue as this becomes the first year that each tour in the top 10 grossed over $100 million and the top five each took in more than $200 million — with inflation playing a factor. Rise in ticket prices placed the Top 100 Worldwide ticket sales in 2022 at 59.2 million, surpassing 2019’s total of 57.7 million tickets. On Pollstar’s North American Top 200 chart, ticket prices increased 19% from $87.19 in 2019 to cross the three-figure barrier of $103.71 in 2022.
And as 2022 comes to a close, it’s clear 2023 will ring in another big year for the live music industry. Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” has already managed to break the internet with an unprecedented, and drama-filled, record turnout for presales on Ticketmaster, and hints of a possible stadium/arena trek from Beyoncé has fans ready to drop thousands for a ticket. Not to mention the several confirmed tours of stars who have already made 2022 a standout year like Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Harry Styles, Dead & Co. (the band’s final trek), the Weeknd, Def Leppard/Mötley Crüe, Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks, among others.

67 Essential Tours to Catch in Summer 2022
Nothing says summer like live music
We may be midway through the year (already?!), but we’re only at the start of peak concert season. Summer brings with it numerous opportunities to catch your favorite musicians — many of whom who have been waiting two years to put these shows on the road.
So get ready for a summer filled with live music as 2022 tours wind their way through North America. Below, we’ve listed off 67 acts that you won’t want to miss at your local venues, amphitheaters, stadiums, or Vegas casinos. For more on the latest news in live music, make sure to check out this page for continuous updates.
Alan Jackson
Alan Jackson, photo by David McClister
Months after revealing his diagnosis with nerve damage disorder Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, Alan Jackson will embark on the “Last Call: One More for the Road” tour . He says this isn’t farewell, but there might not be too many more chances to catch the 63-year-old country legend. — Wren Graves

Alanis Morissette w/ Garbage
Alanis Morissette has extended last year’s Jagged Little Pill anniversary tour with another victory lap across North America, and fortunately for us, Garbage are returning for the ride. While Morissette celebrates her magnum opus, Shirley Manson and company are promoting 2021’s stellar No Gods No Masters . — Carys Anderson
Alice in Chains and Breaking Benjamin w/ BUSH
Breaking Benjamin (photo by Amy Harris), Alice in Chains (photo by Mathieu Bredeau) and Bush (photo by Heather Kaplan)
Three rock heavyweights are sharing the bill on a tour that features a succession of prominent acts. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Alice in Chains’ landmark 1992 sophomore album, Dirt , while Bush broke onto the scene shortly after with their massive debut, 1994’s Sixteen Stone . Breaking Benjamin, meanwhile, have been mainstays on rock radio throughout the 21st century. — Spencer Kaufman
Arcade Fire w/ Beck and Feist
Feist (photo by Norman Wong), Arcade Fire (photo by Rich Fury), and Beck (photo by Philip Cosores)
Going to this tour won’t make your tiredness go away or your back stop hurting, but it will capture some of the epic majesty of your high school and college playlists. Besides, the more recent discographies from all three artists are full of winning songs, especially Arcade Fire’s WE , an uneven album that nevertheless contains some of their best singles in years. — W.G.
Anthrax and Black Label Society
Anthrax’s Scott Ian (photo by Amy Harris) and Black Label Society’s Zakk Wylde (photo by Antonio Marino Jr.)
Metal veterans Anthrax and Black Label Society both bring the heavy, but in very different ways, making for an intriguing bill . While Anthrax are among the Big 4 of thrash metal, Zakk Wylde’s BLS bring the groove — but each act also brings the fun. Throw in opener Hatebreed, and you have one helluva bill. — S.K.

I'm so glad I got to see her in a small venue; what a magical and powerful experience. This girl radiates happiness and joy and on top of all of that, she sounds great live! There was confetti, a disco ball, Neil Young, and lots of dancing. I don't think it would have had the same effect in a large or open space, definitely jump on any chance you have to see her before she really blows up! So much love!
Absolutely incredible!! Khalid was only my second concert ever and it has inspired me to see as many as I can. It felt like every song was played at 250% and it sounded incredible. The band was phenomenal and I could really feel the music. The crowd was happy and everyone was having a good time. I'd see him again if I could.
Ethereal, hopeful, humble, powerful... just absolute ART. The show was focused on everyone, a celebration of culture, love, identities, and struggle. I love that she made it more about the group on stage as a whole than just her- Tons of stage presence nonetheless. Beautiful band, beautiful backup singers. The lighting was amazing and the stage was so well done and simple. Solange holds her own and I cannot wait to see her when she comes back. You can tell she was feeling it when she got down on the left side of the stage and started singing to us, beautiful moment that reminds me why I love going to live shows/concerts. Flying Lotus was an absolute trip as well. I wish she would've brought Kelela out on this date... Scales is such a beautiful song and I'd of loved to see it live with them two.
Jon Hopkins
Hands down the best live concert I've been to in a long time. The newest album is a dream to hear live and this was made even better by the Audio-Visual effects, which were amazing! The venue is a really great space with a stunning sound system and tech. at hand - but really the credit goes to a fantastic artist who performed amazingly. Most of the setlist was from his newest release, but his editing and remix of these tracks and sneak peeks of some newer tracks made it even better!
Moses Sumney
Moses was amazing. Very enigmatic but still approachable, and he had a lot of fun with the crowd. The performance was incredible, his voice is truly something to behold. I've listened to "Worth It" a million times but still got chills when he hit the high note. Would highly recommend seeing Moses live, especially before he gets really famous and expensive to see.
Arcade Fire
They say perfection doesn't exist, well that's wrong when it comes to Arcade Fire. The show was perfect, almost surreal- definitely the concert of the year by far. The set list on the Wednesday show was as of it was made for me, playing songs I never thought I would hear live, it was an emotional experience. The lighting, costumes, music transitions, props was amazing, and the boxing type ring stage was incredibly clever, allowing them to be closer to the fans and yet providing a different show on every side. Words can't explain what I felt during and after the concert, it was playful, clever, emotional, energetic- Such an amazing band, I'm so glad I found them- I don't know how I was alive before finding them. They have such an incredible stage presence, I really truly recommend seeing them if you have the chance- they unite all ages and create magic and unity.

The 44 Most Anticipated Tours of 2024: Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Olivia Rodrigo, and More
By Pitchfork
It’s looking like a busy year for some of the world’s biggest touring artists, with packed schedules from Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Bad Bunny, Foo Fighters, the Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Green Day, and many more. A few touring institutions, meanwhile, are just wrapping up, from Adele’s time in Las Vegas to Billy Joel’s Madison Square Garden residency and Bob Dylan’s seemingly never-ending Rough and Rowdy Ways trek. Some things, however, just never seem to change: You can expect the Ty Segalls and King Gizzards of the world to feature on these roundups till kingdom come, with reliable indie-rock staples like Destroyer, Wednesday, and Alvvays still out in force fighting for the cause, too.
After a residency that has spanned the best part of a year and brought hundreds of thousands of Adele fans to Las Vegas, the Tottenham superstar is closing the run with dates from January through June. “This residency, these shows have changed my life. I desperately needed to fall back in love with performing live again, and I have,” she said in the announcement. “It’s just made me realize how much I really enjoy being on stage, that I’m bloody good at it and that it is 100% where I belong! So let’s go one last time before I turn into a showgirl forever!” –Jazz Monroe

Fresh off their first-ever Grammy nomination (a Best Alternative Music Performance nod for their song “Belinda Says”), Alvvays are hitting venues across the country and ending the run in May in Tucson, Arizona. –Hattie Lindert
Turns out 2022’s El Último Tour del Mundo wasn’t actually Bad Bunny’s last world tour. The Puerto Rican superstar is back on the road for the 47-date Most Wanted North American tour, in support of his October 2023 album Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana . The run begins in February and concludes in May with three back-to-back nights in Miami. –Hattie Lindert
Belle and Sebastian
Right at the top of 2023, Belle and Sebastian shared a surprise album: Late Developers presented an array of playful indie-pop, and a companion of sorts to the previous year’s A Bit of Previous . The band was due to tour shortly after the record’s release but canceled when bandleader Stuart Murdoch ran into health issues ; the rescheduled dates take place in the spring. In the meantime, Murdoch announced a memoirish novel and the band appeared on The Simpsons . –Jazz Monroe
This year marks the end of Billy Joel’s storied Madison Square Garden residency: the New York staple is set to retire his franchise with the venue after his 150th show in July. Since announcing the series in 2013, Joel has kept it a steady engagement, only taking off 18 months for the pandemic. While the residency is coming to a close, Joel does not yet plan to retire. –Hattie Lindert
Jack Antonoff was busy in 2023—getting married and producing albums from Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift—and he’s showed no signs of slowing down for 2024. Opening select shows are Rise Against, Pierce the Veil, Alexisonfire, and the Story So Far. Expect foul-mouthed banter, heavy nostalgia, and one massive reminder not to take yourself too seriously. –Nina Corcoran

The new leg of the tour—subtitled Big as the What?—begins later this month in Denver. –Hattie Lindert

Dubbed the So Much for (2our) Dust , it begins in Portland, Oregon, on February 28 and stretches on through to April 6, where the trek ends in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Both bands will also reunite in the fall for the Las Vegas music festival When We Were Young. The group shared a double A-side, “ Unpopular Parts of a Pig / The Digger You Deep ,” in September, as a high-spirited preview of a forthcoming full-length. –Allison Hussey

One can never be sure exactly what to expect from a Ty Segall show, especially here in the post–Freedom Band era. His sets can be electric and wild, acoustic and intimate, maybe a bit psychedelic. With his 2024 dates behind the new album Three Bells , you can likely expect him to lean into his prog rock impulses. After some West Coast dates in February, he’s heading across North America in April and May. –Evan Minsker
Tyler Childers
Kentucky’s Tyler Childers is a real champion of country music, honoring its history while expanding the genre’s palette and challenging the dominant attitudes of the industry’s principal players. Soon, he will play some of the biggest venues of his career on his Mule Pull Tour, including New York’s Madison Square Garden and Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Hayes Carll, 49 Winchester, Sylvan Esso, and Allison Russell will join Childers at different stops of the U.S. run. –Allison Hussey
During a Super Bowl musically dominated by the long-awaited return of Rihanna, U2 shared a commercial featuring a baby’s face in an orb. That mystical child heralded the band’s Las Vegas shows, where they’ve performed their 1991 album, Achtung Baby , from September into the first months of 2024. U2:UV Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere marked the opening of the MSG Sphere at the Venetian, which seats 17,500. With Larry Mullen Jr. taking time away from the band to recover from surgery, Bram van den Berg is playing drums at the shows. In a statement accompanying the announcement, the Edge used the phrase “the beauty of the Sphere” (speaking of the venue and not the baby from the Super Bowl spot). –Evan Minsker
Wednesday—whose singer, Karly Hartzmann, has openly chronicled the hurdles for indie bands to break even on tour—take to the road again in early 2024, still revving the gas behind their shaggy triumph Rat Saw God . In October, Wednesday shared a deeper peek at their lives together with the half-hour documentary Rat Bastards of Haw Creek , directed by their longtime friend Zach Romeo. They’ll begin in their native North Carolina in January, playing dates with Hotline TNT and They Hate Change through the next month, followed by another springtime leg with Draag in the western half of the United States. –Allison Hussey

'Blackpink in your area': Everything to know about the alluring group's members, tour and more
Since its debut in 2016, Blackpink has become one of the biggest groups to rise out of South Korea's music scene. From its record-breaking releases to the members' various projects, the girl group continues to make history.
And Blackpink made history once again by becoming the first Korean act to headline Coachella with performances on April 15 and 22.
With over 54.6 million followers on Instagram , 8.8 million followers on Twitter and 22 million monthly listeners on Spotify , Blackpink is one of the best-selling K-pop girl groups of all time.
Here is everything you need to know about the K-pop girl group Blackpink from its members to its milestones.
Who is Blackpink?
Blackpink is a four member K-pop girl group under YG Entertainment. Comprised of members Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé, the group debuted in 2016 with the song “ Boombayah ." The song reached No. 1 on the Billboard world digital song sales chart.
Throughout the years, Blackpink has released various albums and singles, including " Ddu-du Ddu-du " and " Kill This Love ," which helped push the girl group into international stardom.
At the time of release, " Ddu-du Ddu-du " became the most-viewed music video in its first 24 hours by a K-pop group. The music video was also the first-ever song by a K-pop group to surpass 1 billion views on YouTube. After its release, " Kill This Love " was the the most-viewed music video in its first 24 hours, gaining 56.7 million views.
In 2020, the group was the subject of Netflix's first K-pop documentary, " BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky ."
Since debut, Blackpink has had many collaborations, including " Kiss and Make Up " with Dua Lipa, " Sour Candy " with Lady Gaga, " Bet You Wanna " with Cardi B and " Ice Cream " with Selena Gomez.
Blackpink has toured across the globe. The group made stops in the U.S. during the "In Your Area" world tour in 2019 and the " Born Pink " world tour in 2022.
On April 16, it was announced Blackpink would return to the states for four stadiums shows. During the " Born Pink Encore ," the group will perform in:
- East Rutherford, New Jersey – MetLife Stadium (Saturday, Aug. 12)
- Las Vegas – Allegiant Stadium (Friday, Aug. 18)
- San Fransisco – Oracle Park (Tuesday, Aug. 22)
- Los Angeles – Dodgers Stadium (Saturday, Aug. 26)

How many members are in Blackpink?
There are four members in Blackpink:
- Jennie (Full name: Jennie Kim) Born Jan. 16, 1996 in Seoul, South Korea.
- Jisoo (Full name: Kim Ji-soo) Born Jan. 3, 1995 in Gunpo, South Korea.
- Lisa (Full name: Lalisa Manobal [also spelled Manoban]) Born March 27, 1997 in Buriram, Thailand.
- Rosé (Full name: Roseanne Park, Korean name: Park Chae-young) Born Feb. 11, 1997 in Auckland, New Zealand.
Originally, Blackpink was supposed to debut with nine members but this was later changed.
Why are they called Blackpink?
During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel in 2020, the group explained the reasoning behind its name.
It "kind of felt like those two colors represented us the most ‘cause we're very girly but at the same time we're very savage too," said Rosé in the interview.
Initially, the group had the tentative name "Pink Punk," which was created by YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk. This was later changed to Blackpink, according to a 2017 radio interview .
What are Blackpink fans called?
The fandom name for Blackpink is called "Blink."
The name derives from Blackpink. The "BL" comes from black and "INK" from pink, meaning that the fans start and end with Blackpink.
Blackpink makes history as Coachella headliners
Blackpink made history by becoming the first Korean act to headline Coachella after it was announced the group would perform at the festival in 2023.
Alongside headliners Bad Bunny and Frank Ocean, Blackpink is one of three main headliners for the famous two-weekend festival, which took place April 14 through 16 and April 21 through 23 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
This is the second time Blackpink performed at Coachella. In 2019, the group made history by becoming the first female K-pop idol group to perform at the festival .

The group has released two studio albums, one compilation album, three EPs, four live albums and four single albums. The group's second studio album " Born Pink " debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart , marking the first No.1 for an all-female group since 2008 . Blackpink's first studio album " The Album " peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Nine of Blackpink's songs have reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The group's collaboration with Selena Gomez "Ice Cream" peaked the highest at No. 13 .
Blackpink holds the title of many "firsts" within the music industry. The group was the first girl group to top the Billboard Artist 100 chart. Blackpink is the first female Korean act to receive a certification from the Recording Industry Association of America with the 2018 single "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du," which was certified gold.
The group is also the first Korean girl group to win a MTV Video Music Award, taking home the Song of Summer award for " How You Like That " in 2020.
Additionally, in 2019 , Blackpink was the first female Korean group to be featured on Forbes' 30 Under 30 Asia. The group was also named Time's Entertainer of the Year in 2022 .

Just a Few of the Biggest Concert Tours of 2024, from Olivia Rodrigo to Bad Bunny
Posted: April 16, 2024 | Last updated: April 16, 2024
Listening to your favorite musician at home is fun, but there's nothing quite like the experience of singing along with them, and tons of more fans, live. And as luck would have it, 2024 is shaping up to be a massive year for some of the world's top musical acts, so chances are your favorite performer might be stopping at a city near you soon.
Ahead, we rounded up some of the biggest concert tours of 2024, ranging from Taylor Swift's mega-popular Eras Tour to Drake and J. Cole's exciting It's All A Blur Tour - Big as the What?—set to kick off this winter. You can also expect tour dates from classic icons like Stevie Nicks, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, and more.
1) Taylor Swift
Undoubtedly one of the biggest concert tours ever, Taylor Swift's Eras Tour will continue right through 2024. The international leg of the tour kicked off in Japan, where she played four shows in Tokyo. She'll also stop in Melbourne, Singapore, Paris, Madrid, London, Milan, and more before returning to the States to play in the fall.
There's nothing like seeing T. Swift IRL, but don't fret if you're unable to nab tickets—the Eras Tour movie is now available to stream from the comfort of your home.
2) Olivia Rodrigo
This is not a drill—"Drivers License" singer Olivia Rodrigo will be hitting the road on tour starting at the end of February. The Guts World Tour runs from February through mid-August and has dates in Nashville, Toronto, Chicago, and New York City, among others. Even cooler? Rodrigo will have a stacked list of special guests—like PinkPantheress, Remi Wolf, The Breeders, and Chappell Roan—with her.
3) Red Hot Chili Peppers
Did you hear the good news? The Red Hot Chili Peppers have extended their global tour through summer 2024. The buzzy stadium tour, which kicked off in June 2022, will now run until July 2024 and bring the California-based band to places like Los Angeles, Tampa, Toronto, and Salt Lake City.
4) Bad Bunny
It's fitting that "Monaco" rapper Bad Bunny titled his tour Most Wanted —it's slated to be one of the year's hottest tours. Planned to help promote his latest studio album, Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana , Most Wanted will kick off in Salt Lake City on February 21 and run through May 26.
5) Billy Joel
If you haven't yet seen Billy Joel perform live, there's still time! The Piano Man has added more tour dates to his schedule, stopping in cities like Tampa, New York, Denver, and St. Louis this year. Even more exciting? He'll share the stage with fellow iconic performers Sting and Stevie Nicks for some of these dates.
Mitski recently announced that she's expanding her North American tour dates , and we couldn't be more excited. The months-long tour, which supports her 2023 studio album The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, has a long list of stops, including Miami Beach, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, and Paris.
There's nothing quite like a Madonna concert, that's for sure. The singer's Celebration Tour , which started last October, continues straight through the spring with dates in Seattle, San Francisco, Mexico City, and more. Besides her eye-catching sets, chart-topping songs, and impressive choreography, concertgoers also get a glimpse of the performer's fantastic costumes, which include looks from Versace and Jean Paul Gaultier.
8) Bleachers
The New Jersey-founded rock band, which is fronted by Jack Antonoff—known for producing albums for top acts like Taylor Swift, Lorde, and Lana Del Rey—not only has announced a new album but a new tour , too. The tour will start in the UK in March, ending fittingly in the band's home state of New Jersey in mid-June. Check out their newly released music video for "Tiny Moves" if you need a Bleachers fix in the meantime.
9) Nicki Minaj
Nicki fans rejoice: the rapper and singer might be coming to a city near you soon as part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. The massive tour will include performances in Brooklyn, Oakland, and Baltimore, with stops at Dreamville Festival and Rolling Loud California along the way.
10) Blink 182
Live out all of your nineties and early aughts pop-punk dreams with one of Blink 182's One More Time Tour dates. The tour, which supports the band's ninth studio album, One More Time..., will bring the trio to cities all over the globe, including Sydney, Santiago, Portland, and Boston. The tour's supporting act is Pierce the Veil, which is also worth checking out.
11) Stevie Nicks
The oh-so-magical Stevie Nicks continues her touring streak with a bunch of 2024 concert dates . Set to begin in Atlantic City, NJ on February 10, Nicks will visit a dozen cities throughout the U.S. this year, such as New Orleans, Omaha, and Chicago. "Let's keep this party going in 2024," the singer-songwriter posted on her Instagram in September to announce the newly added tour dates.
12) The 1975
The 1975 is showing no signs of slowing down. The British band, famous for hits like "Somebody Else" and "Robbers," has extended their 2023 tour through 2024. Titled Still...At Their Very Best , the 22-date tour will open in Glasgow on February 8 and conclude in Amsterdam on March 24.
13) Drake and J. Cole
Rap greats Drake and J. Cole come together for the It's All a Blur Tour – Big As the What? which is guaranteed to be a good time. Drake, fresh off his 2023 It's All a Blur tour with 21 Savage, is set to hit dozens of cities starting in February, many of which J. Cole will also be in tow for. Scoop up tickets ASAP, as Drake's shows are known to sell out.
14) Janet Jackson
Superstar Janet Jackson is also extending her 2023 tour, Together Again , into 2024 with dates in Anaheim, Austin, New Orleans, and Hartford. Even cooler? Jackson's supporting act is the 2000s southern rap legend Nelly.
15) Rolling Stones
If you've ever dreamed of seeing the Rolling Stones perform live in person, now's your chance. The iconic rockers, who released their studio album Hackney Diamonds this past fall, are returning on the road for a 16-date tour with shows throughout the United States and Canada. Concertgoers can expect a mix of new tunes and Stones classics.
16) Bruce Springsteen
Famous for countless listenable hits like "Born to Run" and "Glory Days," Bruce Springsteen is set to embark on a massive world tour this year with his band, The E Street Band. The much-anticipated tour will take the Boss and his crew to cities such as Phoenix, San Diego, Dublin, and Madrid, from March through November.
17) John Mayer
Be sure to catch John Mayer's solo tour this year, which will bring the guitarist and crooner to cities throughout Europe. This leg, an extension of his popular 2023 solo tour, will kick off in Stockholm on March 13 and finish in Dublin on March 29.
18) Shania Twain
Okay, this one is technically a residency , but we're excited nonetheless. Shania Twain, most known for her incredible outfits (her hooded leopard print look, anyone?) and hits like "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" is setting up shop in Vegas starting May 10. Twain's residency will take place at the Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood on and off throughout December 2024.
All good things must come to an end. The Eagles, known for "Hotel California" and other amazing rock songs, began their final concert tour this winter. It launched in Phoenix on January 20, with March 16 as its last date in the United States. Eagles fans won't want to miss this one.
20) Alanis Morisette: The Triple Moon Tour
Alanis Morisette joins forces with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts for their 2024 Triple Moon Tour , which has dates in North America and Canada. This tour is a great one to catch this summer, as it's slated to run from June through August.
