What PGA Tour Champions Players are Saying...

As Matt mentioned in the above video...

EVERYONE is playing hybrids these days (yes, even Tour players) because they can be SO much easier to hit compared to certain fairway woods, long-irons and mid-irons.

And the versatility can't be beat: you can launch them high from all kinds of lies — from closely mown fairways to thick, deep rough.

You can even hit 'em from fairway bunkers...

And chip with them around the greens!

So, when the news of this sales event reached players on the PGA Tour Champions circuit, here's how they reacted...

Hit the "play" button ▶️ below...

Make Golf Easier...and Have More Fun!

As mentioned above, even pros play hybrids because they make golf easier.

And for amateurs like us, the advantages these clubs provide can be absolutely game-changing .

Instead of "dreading" or "hesitating" or "worrying" when faced with long shots...

Imagine actually LOOKING FORWARD to them...

KNOWING you will compress the ball into the sweet spot of the clubface...

And watch it soar high and land softly on the green.

THAT is what hybrids can do for you!

"The hybrid’s sole purpose is to make your life easier."

— Golf Digest

"For those who struggle getting their long irons into the air, hybrid technology has been an amazing substitution."

— Golf Magazine

Compared to your long- and mid-irons, hybrids are often...

✅ Easier to get airborne RELIABL Y and  CONSISTENTLY

✅ Easier to hit from a VARIETY OF LIES (fairway, rough, sand, etc.)

✅ LONGER because they're MORE FORGIVING

✅ LAUNCH HIGHER and land softer to HOLD GREENS

What Your Fellow Golfers Are Saying...

And here is what the media is saying....

"Golfers can launch the ball higher with less spin."

"Tour Edge knows a hybrid is only as effective as the sole allows, and these two models feature the company’s dual-function “RyzerSole” design. A central rail shaped like an hourglass with heel and toe relief helps the club glide through the turf more easily. The design also concentrates weight low so that golfers can launch the ball higher with less spin."

tour edge c722 lofts

"It works wonders"

"The RyzerSole tech is for real, helping to reduce turf interaction while at the same time producing a low and forward center of gravity for a high-launch/optimized-spin ball flight. It works wonders come time to maneuver the ball, as the E722 made it a cinch to hit or low fades and draws — all while still maintaining a forgiving clubface to retain that added power."

— GOLF Magazine

tour edge c722 lofts

"This one takes the crown"

"The Tour Edge Exotics C722 Hybrid is destined for “cult classic” status. You need to go out and try one of these. While hybrids can feel like a dime a dozen, this one takes the crown. It is everything you can want in a compact wood style hybrid. High launch, low spin, forgiving and LONG. Add to that the adjustability of the hosel and the RYZERSOLE weight, you have the ability to custom fit this club to any golfers needs."

— Independent Golf Reviews

Exotics C722/E722

Hot List Silver 2022

Our Review:

WHAT IT DOES: These two drivers constitute a sort of fraternal twins of modern driver design. The use of large sections of carbon composite around a titanium skeleton provides plenty of discretionary weight. But it’s used differently in each. The larger E722 model positions a 30-gram weight in the extreme rear perimeter for maximum forgiveness. The more compact C722 creates two weight ports (20 and five grams) centered in the front and back of the sole that allow better players to tweak spin and launch.

WHY WE LIKE IT: Most drivers that use carbon composite in the body start with a large panel in the crown, but the Tour Edge drivers wrap two large swaths of carbon fiber around the crown and sole like the fins of a manta ray. A centralized strip of titanium that connects back to front divides the two sections. Thinner than in previous models, that ridge provides structural support to yield a more connected feel. It also helps stabilize the frame to direct more energy to the flexing of the face, especially at those off-center areas, to provide the face—and most players—the most help.  Read more >>

WHICH ONE'S FOR ME?

C722: The more compact head (445 cc) utilizes two weight ports (20 and five grams) centered in the front and back of the sole that allow better players to tweak spin and launch. By moving the heavier weight to the front, it produces lower launch and less spin. Putting the heavier weight in back adds more stability on off-center hits.

E722: This larger, at-the-volume-limit model positions a 30-gram weight in the extreme rear perimeter for maximum forgiveness. Its MOI measurement of 5,500 grams/centimeters squared is among the highest on the market and about 25 percent higher MOI than the C722 with the heavier weight in the forward position.

Tour Edge Exotics C722 Hybrid Review

Tour edge exotics c722 hybrid.

If there’s been one true stalwart in my bag for the past five seasons, it’s been a Tour Edge hybrid. Though more Tour Edge metal woods have found their way into my bag over the past few years, the hybrids have performed far and above the competition time and time again. The new Tour Edge Exotics C722 hybrid is no exception. With a super compact profile, easy launch, low spin, and adjustability, the C722 hybrid quickly found its way into my bag for the 2022 golf season.

Looks 13

I think hybrid looks are one of the most subjective areas of golf club preference. Some people like larger footprints resembling mini fairway woods whereas others want to look at something as small as possible. Players that prefer the latter tend to put a premium on playability and shot creativity. This is the player Tour Edge had in mind when designing the C722 hybrid.

The C722 hybrid’s profile is about as compact as a hybrid can get . Tour Edge made the face deeper and shorter from heel to toe so there are similarities to an iron face at address. Helping this shotmaker’s profile is the squared off toe which sets up nicer and frames the ball better as well. Additionally, the blank black crown and black face are really clean and minimal. For my money, the C722 is the best looking hybrid Tour Edge has produced…maybe ever.

Feel 6

How Does it Feel?

Tour Edge has continued the legacy of Diamond Face in the C722 hybrid while combining it with a “Maraging Steel” face. Diamond Face VFT adds 41 diamond shapes behind the face which act as “mini trampolines” at impact. This means there’s more “spring” so the ball will leave the face with more speed. Additionally, this allows Tour Edge to make the toe and heel areas of the face thinner so there’s more life on mishits. As such, the C722 hybrid feels very hot and forgiving . That said, the feedback is very precise and will be preferable to better ball strikers.

The new RyzerSole serves two major purposes. One is to produce a low and forward center of gravity (CG) for higher launch with low spin. The other is to decrease turf interaction by creating a sort of rail that runs along the sole from the face to the trailing edge. I found this allowed the sole to sweep the turf nicely off the tee or a tight fairway lie, but also cuts through cleaner without wanting to dig on a steep swing. Dare I say it, on those heavier shots, the turf interaction feels almost iron-like.

Tour Edge Exotics C722 Hybrid 10

How Does it Sound?

The combination of the Maraging Steel face, Diamond Face VFT, and the compact body are the heavy hitters for the Tour Edge Exotics C722 hybrid’s sound. There’s a definitive “pick” with a hint of “whap” to it off most of the face. It feels really silly typing that all out, but it’s pretty accurate if you close your eyes let your mind imagine it. There’s an ever so slight metallic hint to the tone as well. Overall, the sound is reassuring, but it’s by no means loud or boastful. Clean and precise.

Tour Edge Exotics C722 Hybrid 2

On-Course Performance

With the new RyzerSole and the adjustable sole weight, the Tour Edge Exotics C722 has a low and forward CG. This makes it a little easier to get the ball in the air with a CG lower in the club head. But by locating it toward the front of the club, it actually reduces spin. I think this could impact players in multiple ways, but for me, it provides easier launch and reliable control . By easier launch, I mean I can get the ball off the ground and flying with ease. My stock shot with the C722 hybrid is a piercing shot that rises just a little bit for good carry yardage. Thanks to the lower spin, I can hold my lines a lot easier as well as manage stronger winds with that flight.

When I first started testing the C722 hybrid, my shot was coming out just a touch higher than I prefer from my hybrid. Thanks to the added hosel adjustability (a new addition to the player’s hybrid offering from Tour Edge) I was able to address this fairly easily. I just set the hosel to the “O-” position knocking the loft down to 18.25º and opening the face up just a touch. This gave me a more ideal “stock launch” but still supported the shot diversity I’d expect from a player’s hybrid.

Tour Edge Exotics C722 Hybrid 8

Final Thoughts – Tour Edge Exotics C722 Hybrid

Going into this review, it was pretty easy to expect good results. It is a Tour Edge hybrid after all, but I can’t say I expected the C722 to replace the Tour Edge Exotics EXS Pro hybrid that was in my bag. While there have been glimmers of possible replacements, the EXS Pro has toppled everything thrown at it because of its unreal forgiveness and control. So why would that change now? The reason the new Tour Edge Exotics C722 hybrid was able to ultimately takeover the gamer position is because it gave me everything the EXS Pro had, but was just flat our easier to hit. I might even go so far as to say that the C722 is somewhat forgiving for a player’s hybrid. On top of all that, the C722 looks incredible behind the ball and has a lot more life to it .

The Exotics C722 is easily my favorite Tour Edge hybrid to date, which says something if you’ve read the past few Tour Edge hybrid reviews on this site. Really, both 722 hybrids are arguably the best the brand has produced. The E722 hybrid was an absolute rocket launcher packed with forgiveness and, quite possibly, the standout star of the entire Exotics 722 metal woods lineup. But if you’re a good ball striker that puts a premium of shot making and versatility in this area of your bag, the Tour Edge Exotics C722 hybrid is genuinely as good as it gets.

Tour Edge E722 and C722 Fairway Metals and Hybrids

  • The new Tour Edge 722 series features two fairway metal and two hybrid models .
  • The E722 is for players seeking maximum forgiveness.
  • The C722 is a compact, low-spin offering.
  • Retail price is $229-$299 depending on model.

With the Exotics 722 fairway metals and hybrids, Tour Edge is sticking with its dichotomous “are you an E or a C?” query.

Put another way—when searching for fairway metals and hybrids, which pairing do you prefer? Shallow faces with more forgiveness or a compact footprint and adjustability? If it’s the former, Tour Edge will tell you to look at the E722 models. Conversely, the latter should lean toward the C722 offerings.

The tradeoffs are more nuanced than that but you get the gist. And I guess if you prefer to keep the analysis to a minimum, remember the “E” is for Extreme and “C” stands for Compact .

As members of the same family, the E722 and C722 fairway metals share several key pieces of technology. Likewise, each model features a couple of distinct attributes.

tour edge c722 lofts

722 Fairway Metals’ Shared Technology

With fairway woods, sole design has an integral role in total performance. Think of the sole as something like a boat rudder that allows the club to glide through the turf. Additionally, the sole provides a large area where manufacturers can strategically position weight to impact the center of gravity location.

Tour Edge calls its dedicated sole design RyzerSole Technology. The sole on the E722 fairways includes a rail that runs from the leading edge to the trailing edge. This helps pull more weight low in the head to promote higher launch with less spin. On the C722 , the RyzerSole includes 90 grams of weight, 80 of which is dedicated to a fixed tungsten weight. That leaves a 10-gram adjustable weight that golfers can swap out as needed.

tour edge c722 lofts

A.R.C. Acoustic Engineering

The way a club sounds—or feels—is a focal point of any design process. And because sound and feel are inextricably linked, the goal is ultimately to eliminate bad frequencies while capturing the good ones.

Tour Edge utilizes A.R.C. (Acoustic Resonance Channels) to bounce sound inside the club to achieve what it believes is the optimal auditory impact experience.

While feel is subjective, golfers most often respond negatively to excessively high frequencies. That said, some vibration is necessary to create the intended sensation. In that sense, the A.R.C. works as a frequency colander, allowing only the desirable vibrations into the clubhead.

Yes, it’s like Kevin Nealon’s character (Potter) in Happy Gilmore opined: “Harness. Energy. Block. Bad.”

You remember the scene.

tour edge c722 lofts

Diamond Face VFT

A good bit of modern face technology centers around performance on off-center strikes.

And, given the proclivity of amateur golfers to utilize much more than just the center of the face, that makes sense.

VFT—Variable Face Thickness—is the generic term. What it means simply is that manufacturers alter the face thickness in specific areas to impact ball speed and launch conditions.

Tour Edge uses a Diamond Face configuration with 61 diamond shapes generating an interwoven pattern of seven different thicknesses. Additionally, Tour Edge says the diamond shapes “act as mini-trampolines.” I guess the analogy makes sense so long as each trampoline has variable thickness mesh fabric. Right?

Exotics E722 Versus C722

The Exotics E722 fairway wood is a shallow-face design with a carbon-fiber crown and maraging steel face. An adjustable 10-gram weight sits on the trailing edge on the sole to pull the CG low/rear in the clubhead. Again, a low/rear CG location promotes more forgiveness and higher launch.

Conversely, the C722 features a deeper face and a more compact overall footprint. Some might feel it’s reminiscent of the hallowed CB1 and CB2 models. With the smaller shape also comes a more forward CG location that promotes lower launch and less spin than the E722.

In terms of materials, the C722 utilizes a 6-4 titanium body and face with a carbon crown. The chief benefit of titanium and carbon is that they are lighter materials that free up discretionary weight. In this case, Tour Edge used some of that weight on an adjustable hosel (+/- 1.5°). This is the first adjustable hosel in an Exotics fairway series since the EX9 Tour in 2016.

Exotics 722 Hybrids

tour edge c722 lofts

With the Exotics E722 and C722 hybrids , the Herman’s Hermits line “second verse, same as the first” is apropos. As expected, the Exotics 722 hybrids carry over the notable technologies and aesthetics of the 722 fairway metals.

The E722 is larger, more forgiving and targets the golfer who can benefit from a high-launching hybrid. An adjustable 10-gram weight sits at the extreme trailing edge of the RyzerSole configuration to pull the CG low/rear.

On the other hand, the C722 hybrid is smaller with an adjustable (+/- 1.5°) hosel. It also has a deeper face and an adjustable 10-gram weight positioned closer to the face. It’s built for the higher-speed golfer looking for a direct long-iron replacement. In fact, Tour Edge calls it “the most iron-like hybrid on the market.” I’m not sure that’s entirely true but I also have no idea how one would refute it.

Moving on …

Both the E722 and C722 hybrids incorporate Diamond Face VFT and a maraging steel face. Instead of the 61 diamond shapes in the 722 fairways, Tour Edge uses 41 shapes inside a similar interwoven pattern. Same concept. Same trampoline analogy.

Exotics 722 Stock Shafts

tour edge c722 lofts

For its 722 series fairway woods and hybrids, Tour Edge is sticking with its Speed Tested stock shafts. Basically, Tour Edge tested a variety of shafts using a robot to determine the best shaft for each swing speed. It’s a simple solution to a more complex process but at least it points golfers in the right direction.

Roughly five years ago, TaylorMade pulled the plug on Adams Golf. The collateral damage left an equipment void on PGA TOUR Champions where Adams previously dominated. Tour Edge capitalized on the opportunity and, well, here we are. Tour Edge now has six contracted players on the senior circuit. And I’m not sure I could name a single player on any other professional tour that uses Tour Edge equipment.

It’s a move that altered the strategy for Tour Edge and I wonder whether golfers perceive the brand differently based on the demographic of its tour staff. Once upon a time, Tour Edge Exotics was a brand beloved by hard-core gearheads for its top-shelf fairway woods and hybrids. Market dynamics change and kudos to Tour Edge for seizing an opportunity to grow its brand. That said, will golfers who didn’t experience the original Exotics fairway woods ever really understand just how good they were? Probably not.

I haven’t hit either model. Yet. However, as someone who bagged the original CB1 (and CB2 as well as the CB4), I’m intrigued to see if the C722 fairway lives up to the high standard many of us have for Tour Edge.

I had a tour edge 14@ three wood back in the late 90’s, I think, lol? It was black as black can be and a distance monster for those times. That is when I put a pure swing on it. LOL. As a 7 cap, I’m trying to decide between the E and the C. Currently using their EX10 which is fairly forgiving. Hard to find a place to demo.

With the golfers they are targeting l am surprised they don’t offer a 9-wd or 11-wd.

I still play an Exotics CB Pro 5-wood. It’s the only club that hasn’t found it’s way out of my bag in the last 4 years. High launch, tight dispersion, consistent. I for one think think Tour Edge fairway woods are u see rates.

The average male golfer isn’t in the same universe as any professional golfer with status on a major tour.

That said, in terms of swing speed and optimal equipment, I do agree that if a golfer is going to make the mistake of looking at what another golfer plays to help determine what is best for him/her, Champions Tour/LPGA do make more sense.

But again, I think golfers are best served by working with a qualified fitter that can help them find the best fit regardless of what that ends up looking like.

“and I wonder whether golfers perceive the brand differently based on the demographic of its tour staff. ”

Isn’t the average male golfer closer in caliber to a Champions Tour or LPGA player when considering swing speed, distance, etc. At least it’s what I’ve found for myself, so I checked the go and am finding better results with clubs that are, first fit for me, but also not thinking I should be playing the same equipment as DJ or Rahm.

Tour Edge Exotics C722 Driver

Need to know how to adjust a Tour Edge Exotics C722 driver to switch the loft and lie angles? We have a complete guide and adjustment chart.

The Tour Edge Exotics C722 driver is fully adjustable with a hosel offering you the opportunity to adjust the loft to increase or decrease your launch angle.

The amount of  golf driver adjustment  you can make differs from brand to brand but the step-by-step guide below shows you how the Tour Edge Exotics C722 driver can be adjusted.

Tour Edge Exotics C722 Driver Lofts

The Tour Edge Exotics C722 Driver is sold in two standard lofts of 9.5 degrees and 10.5 degrees.

Tour Edge Exotics C722 Driver Specs

Loft:  9.5 degrees & 10.5 degrees

Standard Length:  45.5 inches

Standard Lie:  59 degrees

Adjustability:  The adjustable hosel allows golfers to adjust the loft +/- 2 degrees and lie angle through a range of 3 degrees.

Adjusting The Loft Angle of a Tour Edge Exotics C722 Driver

Tour Edge Exotics C722 Driver

There are a few simple steps you can take to adjust the loft angle of your driver. You will just need an adjustment tool or wrench to get started.

Here’s how to adjust a Tour Edge Exotics C722 driver:

1. Locate the screw on the sole of your Tour Edge Exotics C722 driver that attaches the driver head to the shaft.

2. Using the wrench, loosen the screw by turning anticlockwise.

3. Once the screw is fully out, you can rotate the adjustable hosel to a lower loft or a higher loft depending on your preference. You will notice the loft figure you had the driver set to and be able to turn the shaft to up to 16 further options.

4. When you have turned the hosel to your required loft, slot the shaft back into your club head. Your new loft will be display through the window on most drivers.

5. Put the screw back in place and tighten with the wrench by turning clockwise. When it is fully tight, you will hear a crank that sounds like the driver is cracking. At this point, the screw is as tight as needed.

Every time you want to adjust the loft, you repeat this process.

Tour Edge Exotics C722 Fairway Wood Review

Chris Wallace tests the Tour Edge Exotics C722 fairway wood to see if its performance matches its ample technology

Tour Edge Exotics C722 Fairway Wood Review

Tour Edge has long delivered winning fairway wood products for better players and has done so yet again with the Exotics C722, which offers an impressive technology package and performance to match while also ranking as one of the best-looking fairways to hit the market in recent years.

Delivers explosive distance

Premium aesthetics

Clean, classic shaping

Exceeds expectations in terms of forgiveness

Mis-hits offer high-pitched acoustics

Why you can trust Golf Monthly Our expert reviewers spend hours testing and comparing products and services so you can choose the best for you. Find out more about how we test .

Chris Wallace

Since its inception in 1986, if there has been one thing that Tour Edge has been known for above all else it would be fairway woods. The company has long had a loyal following in the fairway wood space, especially among better players, and its fairway products have been widely played for many years on professional tours.

Tour Edge has a few different fairway woods that are new for 2022, but the flagship model for better players is the Exotics C722, which is loaded with technology. Included are a carbon fiber crown, titanium body, 90-gram sole plate, fast, responsive clubface, and adjustable hosel for achieving optimal performance.

The end result, according to Tour Edge, is a fairway wood that offers explosive ball speed numbers, effortless launch conditions, and forgiveness, a combination that’s pretty much the Holy Grail when it comes to fairway performance.

The Tour Edge C722 fairway wood is exceptional in terms of its shape and offers a classic look in the playing position.

To find out if the C722 lived up to the hype, I was able to secure one for testing, which was conducted over the course of the last couple of weeks. The C722 is available in standard lofts of 13, 15, and 18 degrees, and I tested the 15-degree model both in range sessions and during full rounds at Atlanta National Golf Club.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have to admit that hitting fairway woods are probably my biggest weakness as a golfer, the result of a swing path that’s too much in-to-out and a positive attack angle. But the C722 scored high marks and is a serious contender to land in my bag.

I’ll start with the look of the C722, which is absolutely stunning. The shaping is perfect, rounded and traditional, and it sits perfectly square to slightly open at address. The carbon fiber on the crown also looks great, the face is clean and contrasts beautifully with the clubhead, and the detailing is nothing short of premium.

The C722 sounds very good at impact as well. It’s not as muted as one might expect given its carbon crown, but the acoustics are pleasing and powerful, especially on centered strikes. Shots hit outside of the center of the face do, however, offer some noticeable auditory feedback, as a higher-pitched sound is the result.

As for performance, where the C722 stands out is in terms of distance. It is long; I mean, really long. My fairway wood gamer of late has been a TaylorMade M3, which I play at 16.25 degrees. After some initial testing on the range with the C722, I moved the loft from 15 degrees down to 14.25 to combat what had been a bit of a draw bias in the standard setting, which is my tendency with a fairway wood.

While both clubs were tested at a length of 42.75 inches, I was routinely seeing 10-15 extra yards with the C722, both off of a tee and off the deck. And my longest tee shots with the C722 ended up not far from where I might hit my driver on some holes at Atlanta National. I would also add that while mis-hits offered a higher-pitched impact sound, they performed better than expected for a “players” fairway, most notably in terms of dispersion and distance.

Chris Wallace prepares to play his tee shot with the C722 fairway wood on the 11th hole at Atlanta National.

The drop-off I did see on off-center strikes typically came in terms of launch and peak height, which is a common issue for me under the best of circumstances. But even off of the turf, good swings resulted in an impressive trajectory time and again, which came as a pleasant surprise, especially at 14.25 degrees. That said, where the C722 was at its best and truly a weapon was off of a tee. In that regard, it was as good as any fairway wood I’ve hit in the last several years.

There’s a lot to like about the C722, which retails for $299.99, a fair price given all of the technology that has been incorporated into the design. It looks fantastic and backs up those aesthetics with impressive performance, especially as it relates to sheer speed and distance. I do think the C722 will best suit better players, but for that caliber of the golfer it offers ample forgiveness. It clearly belongs in the best fairway wood conversation and is another great golf club from Tour Edge .

Chris joined Golf Monthly in February of 2022, becoming the organization’s first full-time staff writer in the United States. In his role at Golf Monthly, Chris reviews a broad spectrum of golf equipment, ranging from the latest in golf clubs to what’s new in the world of golf technology. His vast experience in the game allows him to look beyond the marketing hype to judge the merits of the latest equipment for golfers of all ability levels. As for the trend in golf equipment that Chris has been most impressed with in recent years, the Players Distance Iron category would earn that distinction, as golfers now have far better options for irons that provide the assistance that so many need in terms of distance and forgiveness without forcing them to sacrifice look and feel.

On a personal level, Chris played college golf and was a three-year letterwinner and two-year captain at Lynchburg College in Virginia and later spent two years as the assistant golf coach at the University of Virginia. The vast majority of his professional career, however, has been spent as a sports writer and editor. In the early phases of his career, he covered college football, college basketball, and golf for different newspapers and websites before turning his attention solely to golf in 2011. Over the course of the past decade, Chris managed the Instruction Blog for GolfChannel.com and more recently created equipment-related content for TGW.com and 2ndSwing.com.

An avid player, Chris currently maintains a handicap index of 2.4 and has a career-low round of 66, which he has shot on three occasions. He lives about 20 miles north of Atlanta in Roswell, Georgia, with his wife, Stacey, and is a member at Atlanta National Golf Club.

Lena, our guide in Moscow was excellent. She was very knowledgable and could answer any question we had for her. We liked that she could pick up on our interests and take us places we might not have thought of to go. When we realized that one of the places we had chosen to see would probably not be that interesting to us, she was able to arrange entry to the Diamond Fund and the Armoury for us. Riding the Metro with Lena was a real adventure and a lot of fun. In Saint Petersburg we found Anna well versed in the history of the Tsars and in the Hermitage collection. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. We would both have no hesistation to recommend ExpresstoRussia to anyone we know.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Meanwhile, I will refer you to other potential visitors to Russia as I meet them.

Moscow, a City Like No Other

Moscow is Russia’s largest city with a population of between 12 and 13 million. It is also Europe’s largest city and when you visit Moscow, you can feel it. The layout and architecture of the city is eclectic, ranging from crooked, ancient streets and alleyways to wide, bustling boulevards, from medieval churches to Stalin skyscrapers and to modern, glass buildings towering over everything and of course in the center of it all is the Kremlin and the magnificent Red Square. Moscow is also home to a fantastic, efficient and very beautiful metro system – each station having its own special design. In fact, Express to Russia’s Moscow metro tours and excursions are some of our most popular attractions that we offer. On our Moscow tours, you will see this and more.

Moscow Tours centering on Russian History

Moscow has a long and interesting history and has been the capital of Russia in many of its different iterations – capital of the Grand Duchy of Moscow , the Russian Empire and of course the Soviet Union (who could ever forget the Soviet Union?). Moscow, was founded in the 12th century by Prince Yuri Dolgaruki (Yuri of the long arms – he really did have long arms!). From that time on, it was home to the Russian Tsars until Peter the Great moved the capital to St. Petersburg in 1703. The city has survived invasions and sieges from the Mongols, the Tartars, the Poles, Lithuanians and Napoleon but has always persevered. Our Moscow tours will enlighten you on this great history and give you insights into Muscovites and their unique culture. Our Moscow tours show you what the city is like today but also brings to life the past. Moscow never seems to sleep and is bursting with energy. A Moscow tour with Express to Russia is truly the best way of getting to know Russia’s largest and most vibrant city.

Frequently Asked Questions From Our Travelers

What is the best time to visit moscow.

Any time of year is fine depending on what you plan to do. Summertime is pleasantly warm, ideal for exploring the city and its vibrant atmosphere, but Moscow will be much busier and accommodation is more expensive. Winter can be quite cold but beautiful nonetheless, and this is unproblematic if you intend to spend most of your trip in museums and galleries. There are also various festivals and events organised throughout the year. For more information about the best time to visit, read our guide

How many days are enough in Moscow?

If you plan your itinerary strategically and aren’t averse to a packed schedule, you can cover Moscow’s main sights over a long weekend. Most popular attractions are in the city centre, and the Moscow Metro allows you to cover much ground in a small amount of time. Ensure that your accommodation is fairly central and book tickets in advance, so that you can make the most of your days. For an informative and well-organised day out, check out our Moscow day tours with options to suit all interests.

Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you. Tour Edge Exotics C723 Irons Review

More in irons:.

TaylorMade Qi Irons

50 Words or Less

Tour Edge Exotics C723 irons are a players distance iron designed to designed to provide an ideal blend of power, forgiveness, and feel.

tour edge exotics c723 irons

Introduction

Increasingly, golfers are looking for more distance and increased forgiveness across the face from their irons.  But most aren’t willing to sacrifice the sweet feeling of a well-struck shot.  OEMs have set out to solve that puzzle and make an iron that is suitable for a huge percentage of golfers.  In the case of Tour Edge, they have brought out the Exotics C723 irons.  Find out what kind of tech it uses and how it performs in this review.

tour edge c722 lofts

The Tour Edge Exotics C723 irons have an updated classic look.  Instead of chrome, there’s a matte finish to reduce glare and give a modern feel.  At address you see a moderate amount of offset and a somewhat chunky topline.  At times, there is just the slightest bit of the “help” portion of the club visible behind the topline at address.  While I like just about everything else about the looks of this club, that was one small complaint.

tour edge c722 lofts

The C723 is the middle of the three irons in Tour Edge’s latest Exotics line , between the Pro 723 [review HERE ] and the E723 [review HERE ].  It strikes a decent balance between the two, a tour-level cavity back and a super game improvement iron.

tour edge c722 lofts

Sound & Feel

The ball jumps right off the face of the Tour Edge Exotics C723 irons.  It feels almost springy, in a good way .  If you totally miss the center of the face, you’ll notice, whether it’s a heel, toe, fat, or thin.  But the sweet spot seems quite large, and balls struck in that general vicinity sound and feel equally good.

The sound is percussive but not overly loud.  Shots out of the center elicit more resonance , which is a nice little bonus for catching one sweetly.

Performance

Almost universally, the secret sauce of a hollow body multi-material iron is the material injected into the cavity of the clubhead.  In this case, that material is VIBRCOR .  I’m not a scientist or engineer so one high performance plastic is the same as any other to me, but it’s worth stating that it’s there and it seems to work well, not only in terms of the sound and feel as discussed above, but in the way the ball flies and the distance it produces .  The Tour Edge Exotics C723 irons definitely hold their own in terms of distance.

tour edge c722 lofts

Speaking of distance, I think it’s also worth mentioning that, like many irons in this category, the lofts are a bit stronger than what is typically considered to be traditional.  You’ll see a lot bigger gaps between the short irons than the long irons.  While some people love their long irons, I would definitely be looking to pair these with hybrids.

tour edge c722 lofts

As alluded to earlier, forgiveness is also a big part of the draw with these clubs.  This is due in part to the club’s Diamond Face VFT .  The VFT is a reference to variable fact thickness, and Diamond Face refers to a constellation of diamond shapes across the face.  The design is laid out in a way that promotes better results on heel and toe strikes.  I found it to be very forgiving.

As usual, Tour Edge has really been thoughtful about its stock shaft offerings , and there is no shortage of quality, regardless of what kind of player you are.  I went with the KBS Tour 120, which I really got along well with.

tour edge exotics c723 irons

Tour Edge remains one of the most unheralded OEMs.  But they have been operating with a such a consistently high level of quality for a while now, it really shouldn’t be the case.  The Tour Edge Exotics C723 irons are a great entry in the players distance category and should be in consideration for more golfers than it probably will be.

I’ve been playing the C721 driver and the E722 hybrids all season and just love the feel, sound, and distance. I was thinking of getting a set of their irons but my budget hasn’t allowed it yet. This article gives me another reason to consider them at some point. Thanks.

I haven’t hit those so I can’t compare.
