Boat Trip is a comedy film from the year 2002 directed by Mort Nathan, starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Horatio Sanz, and Roselyn Sanchez. The movie revolves around two best friends, Jerry (Cuba Gooding Jr.) and Nick (Horatio Sanz), who go on a boat trip in search of love. Jerry and Nick are both recently single, and they are determined to find new romantic relationships. After a failed attempt to win back his ex-girlfriend, Jerry accepts Nick's invitation to a singles cruise to the Bahamas. However, the trouble begins when they accidentally end up on a gay cruise instead of a singles cruise. Even though they are not gay, they decide to stay on the cruise and make the most of it.

Jerry and Nick try to blend in with the other passengers, but people keep mistaking them for a gay couple. Jerry falls for Gabriella (Roselyn Sanchez), a beautiful dance instructor who is also on the cruise. However, Gabriella thinks that Jerry is gay and is only interested in being his friend.

Meanwhile, Nick is pursued by an overweight German gay man (played by Roger Moore) who is convinced that Nick is "the one" for him. Nick is not interested but decides to go along with it to avoid hurting the man's feelings.

The situation gets even more complicated when Jerry's ex-girlfriend unexpectedly shows up on the gay cruise. She is now a lesbian and has brought along her new girlfriend. Jerry is torn between his love for Gabriella and his unresolved feelings for his ex-girlfriend.

As the boat heads towards the Bahamas, Jerry and Nick's attempts to hide their heterosexuality become more and more challenging. They accidentally end up performing in a drag show and also get caught in a compromising position by the ship's captain. The two friends eventually find themselves in a bigger mess than they could have ever imagined.

Boat Trip is an entertaining film with clever humor that keeps the audience laughing throughout the entire movie. The performances by Cuba Gooding Jr., Horatio Sanz, and Roselyn Sanchez are excellent in their respective roles. The chemistry between the two best friends is evident, and they share some genuinely funny moments. The supporting cast is also terrific and adds to the hilarity of the movie.

The film is set on a gorgeous luxury liner and features beautiful scenery and stunning views of the Caribbean. The movie is an excellent portrayal of life on a cruise ship and will make the viewers feel like they are on vacation with Jerry and Nick.

Overall, Boat Trip is a fun film that will provide a great time to anyone looking for a laugh-out-loud comedy. It is an enjoyable and entertaining movie that provides a perfect escape from a stressful day. The film may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is worth watching for its humor, performances, and beautiful setting.

Critic Reviews for Boat Trip

Audience reviews for boat trip.

There's this quote that is, often, falsely attributed to Morgan Freeman that says 'I hate the word homophobia. It's not a phobia. You are not scared. You're just an asshole.' The quote, I believe, originated from the twitter parody account Tweets from God. The account is now defunct, but I followed it for some time on twitter. Whether Morgan Freeman said that or not, the fact is that it's a quote that's 100% on the money. I've never understood the whole deal with homophobes. Motherfuckers can't run their own lives and they want to control someone else's and tell them that they shouldn't be in with a person of the same sex because some bullshit about it's immoral. If you are two consenting adults and you're not, in any way, shape or form harming anyone else, nobody is allowed to tell you who you can be with or what type of sex you have. The reason I start with this is simply because of the fact that this is the most homophobic, gay-panic movie I've seen in quite a while. And it was just absolutely fucking dreadful. This would have been one of the worst movies I've seen, in quite a while, were it not for the fact that Lin Shaye is in this movie. I love Lin Shaye and she, regardless of her character, gets this film one star just by being in it. I don't think there's a problem, inherently, with this type of movie. Really, I'm serious when I say that. The thing is that, with this movie, you needed to avoid exactly the same things that this movie gave in to. Gays, in this film, are all portrayed as effeminate, cross-dressing, sex-crazed miscreants. But they're 'fun', so it's ok to portray them in this way just because they're fun people to be around. Homosexuals are human beings like the rest of us. They can't be narrowed down to a specific set of stereotypes that this film, clearly, wants to narrow them down into. And don't even get me started on the way women are portrayed in this movie, at least the Swedish suntanning team. They are just there to look hot and be half naked for Nick to completely ogle at and drool over. This movie makes Sandler's treatment of women in his films like high-quality feminist cinema. Sex comedies are tricky to pull off, but they're not impossible if the gags themselves are well-constructed and the film, at least, has some sort of character progression. Klown, a Danish sex comedy, and Superbad are just two sex comedies off the top of my head that have those elements. This film just has the gags and they're, quite honestly, really terrible. Not to mention the fact that the lead characters, Jerry and Nick, are horrible people. Jerry is a lying douche, leading this woman, that he's falling in love with, that he's truly gay. Nick. Where do I even get started on Nick? Nick is one of the most obnoxious characters I've seen in a long time. I just really wanted to punch this fucking asshole right in the face. And I get that he's 'meant' to be ignorant in assuming that gay people can't be doctors/lawyers/etc, but even when he befriends these men, he can't stop being annoying. I've seen Horatio Sanz in SNL before, back when I watched it, and I didn't really care about him one way or the other. I mean I didn't hate him or anything of the sort, but I just found him to be so goddamn awful in this movie. He's not funny, he's not sympathetic, he's absolutely nothing. You just want a giant septic tank to fall on Nick and crush him to death instantly. And that's completely on Horatio. Granted, he was just following 'orders', but, again, Jonah Hill's character in Superbad is Nick in this movie. But the writing in Superbad was so great that Jonah's character didn't come across like an unlikable asshole. And that's just the tip of the iceberg as it relates to this movie. Part of me wonders if there are people who saw this, liked this and thought Nick was a hilarious character. Show me those people so I can punch them right in their faces. This movie is horrifyingly unfunny. I'm not gonna lie, there were a few chuckles, but it's the type where you feel really fucking embarrassed of yourself for actually having chuckled. I couldn't even begin to tell you what these moments were though, that's how forgettable the movie is. Well it's not forgettable in the sense of how dreadful it truly was. This is one of my angrier reviews in a while, well since I accidentally erased my Big Sky review and I had to do it all over again. But this hasn't been deleted accidentally, yet, and it just captures my thoughts on this perfectly. Stereotypical and homophobic movie with shit comedy, terrible people as lead characters and awful acting. This would have destroyed Cuba Gooding Jr's career deader than dead if it wasn't for the fact that RADIO came out the year after this one. Think about that for a second. Cuba had this movie and Radio come out within a year of each other, it's no surprise that his career hasn't recovered since then. Yea, this was terrible. PS: And, yes, this is another movie that I've downgraded. Lin Shaye is a fantastic actress, but she's, realistically, not in the film enough to elevate this from half a star to one. She's really not, so the half a star rating sticks. This is just a fucking dreadful movie.

boat trip caly film

By far one of the worst movies I've ever seen. 'Boat Trip' is charmless, immature, offensive, full of unfair stereotypes and low on laughs.

Cuba Gooding, Jr. is a guy going through relationship problems and Horatio Sanz is his obnoxious, oversexed best pal who is trying to go away on a singles cruise hoping to get laid. They end up insulting their travel agent (cameo by Will Farrell) who sends them on a gay cruise out of spite. Gorgeous Puerto Rican Beauty Roselyn Sanchez and the Swedish Sun Tanning Bikini team provide the much needed eye-candy to keep the interest of the males viewing. Roger Moore plays the British sophisticate interested in having Sanz take a bite of his sausage. His protrayal as an ancient "queen" is hilarious. Don't expect much in the way of story-line-- yes, it may be a bit stupid, vulgar, crude and corny at times, but stupid can be funny as well. What do you expect? It is a comedy so feel free to laugh out loud! It's a good movie to rent with your buddies if you like sunbathing, gay jokes, sexual innuendos and a risqué banana scene with Roselyn Sanchez showing Cuba how she can play, lick, nibble and kiss the lucky banana.

(2003 Director: Mort Nathan) Surprise! The cruise 2 buddies book is a "gay" parade...unbeknownst to them. Guest starring James Bond #2 (Roger Moore-The Saint) who welcomes them both their first day on the cruise. Nick (Horatio Sanz) accidentally shoots down a helicopter filled with Swedish tanning lotion models & befriends his idea of goddess in Helga (Lin Shaye). Jerry decided on the cruise becuase of his 4-year long disappointing relationship with Felicia. But drunk Jerry falls into the pool and is rescued by Dominique (Roselyn Sanchez) who is a dance instructor and THE OTHER gorgeous female on this Gay Cruise. Jerry immediately falls in love but after these two become friends, and she shares her loathing of the men in her past, he decides to maintain the illusion of being a gay man. His friend Nick is not a willing co-partner in this sham, but reluctantly ulti- mately goes along. Richard Roundtree?

Now streaming on:

"Boat Trip" arrives preceded by publicity saying many homosexuals have been outraged by the film. Now that it's in theaters, everybody else has a chance to join them. Not that the film is outrageous. That would be asking too much. It is dim-witted, unfunny, too shallow to be offensive, and way too conventional to use all of those people standing around in the background wearing leather and chains and waiting hopefully for their cues. This is a movie made for nobody, about nothing.

The premise: Jerry (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is depressed after being dumped by his girl ( Vivica A. Fox ). His best buddy Nick ( Horatio Sanz ) cheers him up: They'll take a cruise together. Nick has heard that the ships are jammed with lonely women. But they offend a travel agent, who books them on a cruise of gay men, ho ho.

Well, it could be funny. Different characters in a different story with more wit and insight might have done the trick. But "Boat Trip" requires its heroes to be so unobservant that it takes them hours to even figure out it's a gay cruise. And then they go into heterosexual panic mode, until the profoundly conventional screenplay supplies the only possible outcome: The sidekick discovers that he's gay, and the hero discovers a sexy woman on board and falls in love with her.

Her name is Gabriela ( Roselyn Sanchez ), and despite the fact that she's the choreographer on a gay cruise, she knows so little about gay men that she falls for Jerry's strategy: He will pretend to be gay, so that he can get close to her and then dramatically unveil his identity, or something. Uh, huh. Even Hector, the cross-dressing queen in the next stateroom, knows a straight when he sees one: "You want to convince people you are gay, and you don't know the words to 'I Will Survive'?" The gays protesting the movie say it deals in stereotypes. So it does, but then again, so does the annual gay parade, and so do many gay nightclubs, where role-playing is part of the scene. Yes, there are transvestites and leather guys and muscle boys on the cruise, but there are also more conventional types, like Nick's poker-playing buddies. The one ray of wit in the entire film is provided by Roger Moore , as a homosexual man who calmly wanders through the plot dispensing sanity, as when, at the bar, he listens to the music and sighs, "Why do they always play Liza?" One of the movie's problems is a disconnect between various levels of reality. Some of the scenes play as if they are intended to be realistic. Then Jerry or Nick go into hysterics of overacting. Then Jerry attempts to signal a helicopter to rescue him, and shoots it down with a flare gun. Then it turns out to be carrying the Swedish Sun-Tanning Team, on its way to the Hawaiian Tropics finals. Then Jerry asks Gabriela to describe her oral sex technique, which she does so with the accuracy and detail of a porn film, and then Jerry--but that pathetic moment you will have to witness for yourself. Or maybe you will not.

Note: The credit cookies weren't very funny, either, but at least they kept me in the theater long enough to notice the credits for the film's Greek Support Team.

I saw this in the cinema when I was 18, and I still remember the whole room howling with laughter. Watched it recently and to be honest, I didn't find it so hilarious anymore twelve years later. Nice moments and it remains a funny film, but anything but high humour.

What a bad movie! A ridiculously bad story with bad acting. If the humor would be nice I could live with that but it's just not funny, it's all way too bland. The jokes are cheap, as is the whole look of the movie. Quickly forget this bagger!

The fact that two friends want to put the flowers out and accidentally end up on a gay cruise is a hilarious concept in itself. After that, all sorts of ridiculous situations follow. Playmate Victoria Silvstedt is a nice addition. 7/10

Two straight men accidentally end up on a gay cruise where one of them falls in love with a woman under the pretense that he’s not straight. It was released in the aughts, a time where Hollywood seemed to think being gay was somehow comedy on its own. It’s exactly as shallow and terrible as you would expect it to be. Roger Ebert described this movie as being “dim-witted, unfunny, |and| too shallow to be offensive.” That pretty much sums it up. Cuba Gooding Jr. is probably the actor with the biggest downturn in their career path. His filmography is simply disgusting to look at. If there’s a single positive thing to say about this basic and cliched movie, it at least has a tiny bit of production quality and does have a three act structure…

This was labelled under "Comedy" on Sky Movies. The lying little shits. There's more laughs in Shoah . According to Boat Trip , all gay men are camp and predatory, all women are vacuous and sex objects. Smelt your Oscar down Cuba Gooding, Jr. and use the gold to buy an apology present for every poor fucker that had to watch this abomination. Go home Roger Moore, you're better than this.

Homophobic. Offensive. Depressingly unfunny.

Remember the days when Cuba Gooding Jr. seemed like a nice chap? Those days are well and truly over.

This film is so bad that it's evil.

2003 saw the legendary Cuba Gooding Jr. releases of Boat Trip * and Radio . One was a Mike Tyson uppercut to his career and the other was a swift sucker punch K.O. and with a "poof" his leading man persona went into a vegetative coma. Donezo. Out like a light. Then, many years later, 2019 to be exact, he was taken off life support after rape allegations surfaced. His Oscar was buried with the body.

*footnote: If you're signing up for a film directed by a guy named Mort, maybe rip up the contract and get the hell outta there.

Watching this with my mouth open at how unfunny this is.

Never been a part of the PC police, but the homophobia explodes all over your face and drips until you swallow.

You could make the argument that Cuba Gooding Jr. should have relinquished his Oscar after this, but being in this movie is punishment enough.

You feel bad for Roger Moore, Vivica A. Fox, Lin Shaye, but mostly you feel bad for yourself.

You don't laugh, but you cry for the 90 minutes you will never ever get back.

The Titanic is the second worst boat trip ever put on screen.

Anyone who praises Love Simon or Call Me By Your Name but trashes this film suffers from internalized homophobia. I refuse to argue about this so just fuck off if you disagree.

You can say what you want about this movie but every time Roger Moore, in full James Bond charm, was hitting on Horatio Sanz I was laughing.

Boat Trip is an 80s late night comedy that was made in the early 2000s but they never changed the script or concept. Even with that said, this could have been a lot worse than it is. A full star was given for Roger Moore's casting.

Quite poor. Look for this in the next My World Of Flops.

Almost unbelievably awful. This is so homophobic and offensive it beggars belief this wasn't made decades earlier. Horatio Sanz is about as funny as genocide & Cuba Gooding. Jr, well... I hope he fired his agent.

One half star simply for Roger Moore, who provides the only chuckles & is so so above and beyond this offal.

Torren Martyn Just Released His New Film ‘Calytpe’, and It’s a Must-Watch Surfing Adventure

Torren Martyn should be considered one of the greatest surf adventurers of our time. There are plenty of surfers who travel a lot these days — the CT competitors included — but Torren takes truly epic trip. If his adventures came in written form, they would be sweeping epics, thousands of pages long. And in early 2022, Martyn and his partner Aiyana Powell embarked on a voygage for the ages.

Martyn, as I mentioned, is a man who loves the search. Sure, he loves the waves at the end of the rainbow, but the act of looking is just as good. He and Ishka Folkwell, a filmmaker with some serious chops, have created some beautiful surf film. Thank You, Mother , for example, and more recently Distant Shore . They were also responsible for Lost Track Atlantic , a four-part series that saw them fly from Australia England and by a busted old 2008 Ford Transit van for peanuts, then attempt to go from northern Scotland all the way down to the equatorial coast of West Africa.

Martyn’s latest film, Calypte , is one of the best films from Martyn yet. Torren and Aiyana, with just a few combined days under sailing experience under their belts, had an opportunity to take a sailboat from the east coast of Thailand to Eastern Indonesia.

“They could learn as they went, get a few friends with sailing experience to help through the tricky bits and pick up as much as possible from them along the way,” the Need Essentials team wrote . “With this plan, the pair embarked onto the South China Sea, headed up through the Strait of Malacca and around the tip of Sumatra; out into the Indian Ocean on a year-long expedition in search of waves.”

Of course, sailing is never without its problems, especially for a couple with almost no sailing experience. “What seemed like an idyllic journey didn’t come easy,” Need Essentials continued. “It was difficult to anticipate the challenges of the sleepless nights, the endless rolling and tossing of the boat, the breakdowns, the relentless maintenance and confined space. But adventures always seem sweeter if it really feels like you had to work to get there.”

And the adventure documented in Calypte, a film by Ishka Folkwell and Torren Martyn and produced by Need Essentials, is certainly a sweet one.

FILM IN REVIEW; 'Boat Trip'

By Elvis Mitchell

Directed by Mort Nathan

R, 95 minutes

Whom do you feel sorrier for, the cast of ''Boat Trip'' or their children? Remember, kids can be very cruel -- and this latest ''get Cuba Gooding Jr. career counseling fast'' project is a misfire from beginning to end.

Mr. Gooding plays Jerry, who is in mourning over the breakup of his relationship with Felicia (Vivica A. Fox). The barking hound-dog Nick (Horatio Sanz) talks Jerry into joining him on a singles cruise, but the travel agent they anger gets his revenge by booking the pair on a gay singles cruise. ''Boat Trip'' goes down faster than the Titanic and is far more deserving of its fate.

''Boat Trip,'' which opens nationwide today, is a series of flashing semaphores that signal its dreariness. It has the most exhausted collection of song clichés this side of a Time-Life oldies collection, from James Brown's ''I Feel Good'' all the way to the eventual cover of ''I Will Survive.'' What's missing from this motley medley is a tune by Cuba Gooding Sr.: ''Everybody Plays the Fool.''

The junior Gooding has shown himself to be a game actor, and he is fearless at throwing his entire being into pictures that seem to exist to prove that he can be in something worse than the last movie you saw him in. If ''Boat Trip'' were screened on a cruise ship, most of the passengers would be dog-paddling back to shore.

''Boat Trip'' is more tiresome and dumb than actually bad. A scant 10 minutes or so after Mr. Sanz has wrung every exasperated take out of his surprise at being on a gay cruise -- and still goes on with it anyway -- the movie introduces something that could only pass as a subplot to people stranded at sea. The Swedish women's suntanning team joins the cruise, giving Nick another reason to pop his eyes wide open. And another reason to flinch -- he is kept at bay from the brown-and-serve cuties by the authoritarian tanning team captain, Sonya (Lin Shaye, in another of her grim-visaged roles). When Nick isn't being chased off by Sonya, he is being stalked by an aged gay pursuer, Lloyd (Roger Moore).

Jerry finds his own heartthrob on board: the ship's dance instructor, Gabriella (Roselyn Sanchez), a straight woman who is working a gay cruise to put some distance between herself and lying hetero men. What happens between the two of them is as predictable as the never-ending phallic jokes -- a surfeit of single-entendres -- that are festooned across the boat decks by the director, Mort Nathan. The legend ''A Mort Nathan Film'' got one of the biggest laughs at the depressed screening I attended.

Between Mr. Gooding's relentless energy and Mr. Sanz's impish gleam -- he may be the only heavyset ''Saturday Night Live'' cast member whose comic approach isn't inspired by self-hatred -- they have the potential to make a likable comedy team. But it's unlikely anyone would pair them again after ''Boat Trip'': the foreign film Oscar nominee from the Netherlands will enjoy bigger box-office returns than this picture.

Probably the next time we see Mr. Gooding on screen, he'll be getting a stern lecture on learning to love himself from Dr. Phil.

''Boat Trip'' is rated R (Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian). It has strong language, more unwieldy sex gags than can be found in the collected ''Playboy Party Jokes,'' and drug and alcohol consumption. ELVIS MITCHELL

"We must get together some time, go for a midnight swim, do whatever feels right...that is what a gay cruise is all about." — Lloyd Faversham

Boat Trip is a 2002 romantic comedy starring Cuba Gooding Jr. , Horatio Sanz , Vivica A. Fox , Roselyn Sánchez , and Roger Moore .

This film provides examples of:

  • Lloyd ( Roger Moore 's character), an elderly gay man and possible Chubby Chaser who takes a liking to Nick and won't take no for an answer.
  • Sonya ( Lin Shaye ), the brutish, nymphomaniac sun-tanning team coach who Nick encounters several times.
  • Surprisingly averted with Nick to Inga, perhaps out of desperation to find love on a boat full of gay men.
  • "My name is Faversham. Lloyd Faversham." Delivered in the same way that the former James Bond actor would introduce himself in the 007 movies.
  • Nick wasn't the first guy to have sexual encounter with Lin Shaye.
  • Ambiguously Bi : Sonya sports a butch, trim haircut and demeanor to match. She eroticizes her team's bodies as "hot" and "luscious". Also, she smacks and gropes Inga's buttocks while reprimanding her. Later, however, she's immensely smitten with Nick after a particularly nasty run-in.
  • An Aesop : Always Be Yourself . As Hector puts it: "It's better to be true to yourself, than to lie to the world". Also, try actually interacting with someone rather than sticking to stereotypes or prejudices about them.
  • Becoming the Mask : Jerry's flamboyant speech and hand gestures while trying to assure Felicia that he is definitely not gay.
  • The Cameo : Will Ferrell as a travel agent who books Jerry and Nick on the gay cruise after Nick insults his co-worker and boyfriend, played by Artie Lange .
  • Camp Gay : Hector, full stop and, seemingly, most of the passengers and crewmembers.
  • Coming-Out Story : Subverted with Nick who became convinced he may actually be gay after thinking he slept with Ron when really they just both got drunk and fell asleep, nothing more.
  • Covers Always Lie : Where on the poster does it indicate anything regarding a gay cruise?
  • Erotic Eating : Gabriella uses a banana to show Jerry how she performs fellatio. He gets so aroused by the sight, he has a accident on his pants .
  • Failed a Spot Check : The Agony Booth 's review points out this egregious Plot Hole : "In order to create a scenario where the audience knows more than the characters, the pair somehow fail to notice they’re boarding with hundreds of men, all dressed like the audience at a Cher concert. They also somehow manage to avoid reading the enormous banner draped on the gangplank announcing that this is a gay cruise. This also means they failed to read the manifest, their tickets, the itinerary, their confirmations, and the travel planner which they were issued."
  • Gay Bar Reveal : After Lloyd points out Jerry and Nick are on a gay cruise.
  • Gilligan Cut : "No one's gotta teach me how to be gay." Cut to Hector tutoring Jerry on Bette Midler and "I Will Survive."
  • Have I Mentioned I Am Gay? : Nick tries this around the bikini models in order to get them to drop their guard (read: clothes) around him.
  • Insane Troll Logic : Jerry seems to think that he can win over the ship's female dance instructor by... pretending to be a Camp Gay stereotype.
  • Insult Backfire : "Fuck your mother!" "Oh, yeah? Well, nobody'd want to fuck my mother 'cause she's too damn ugly!"
  • Intimate Lotion Application : Nick takes advantage of the fact he's been Mistaken for Gay to get close to the sexy Swedish models on the ship and convinces them to let him rub sunblock into their bare backs as they sunbathe topless on the deck.
  • Jizzed in My Pants : Jerry has this reaction after watching Gabriella demonstrate how she performs oral sex using a banana. Actually, he does it out a porthole... and onto some dude's face invoked .
  • Magical Queer : Nearly any gay character sharing a significant amount of screen time with our two straight leads including Hector, Lloyd, Steve, Ron, Perry, and Tom.
  • The Millstone : They end up on a gay cruise in the first place because Nick insulted the travel agent. He also makes it harder for Jerry to get closer to Gabriella because he's so homophobic and sex-starved.
  • Mistaken for Gay : When you and another guy are, literally, the only two straight men on a gay cruise.
  • Gabriella is often played for fanservice, having several scenes in states of undress and under Male Gaze .
  • The Swedish bikini models are entirely played for sex appeal . A Freeze-Frame Bonus shows at least five of the Swedish tanning models waving her bikini tops, baring their breasts when the team is adrift on a raft pleading for the ship's assistance.
  • Fetish : Lloyd loves being humiliated.
  • Oh, Crap! : Nick, when he finally figures out that they're on a gay cruise. And at the end, when he’s reunited with Sonya .
  • Ooh, Me Accent's Slipping : Lin Shaye’s attempt at a Swedish accent for Sonya is rather inconsistent as it varies between her scenes as very thick ( most notably, at the end ) and almost non-existent.
  • Precision F-Strike : Jerry after Gabriella drops her top in front of him: "Fuck Nick."
  • Replacement Goldfish : The ending shows Nick having traveled to Sweden to find Inga, only to learn from her family that she's gone away to Italy on a modeling assignment for a few months. Nick is then introduced to her equally attractive younger sister, Bridget.
  • Retired Badass : Lloyd used to serve in the Royal Air Force. "I am what you colonials like to call a 'badass motherfucker'."
  • Right Behind Me : Gabriella, when Jerry is explaining to Felicia how he was Mistaken for Gay . She doesn't take it well. Jerry: She's behind me, isn't she?
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man : Downplayed, since Nick isn't anybody's idea of a manly man, but Jerry is a lot more caring when it comes to women, whereas Nick is a sex-crazed horn-dog.
  • Sexy Coat Flashing : Felicia gets a gratuitous fanservice moment when she opens her robe to flash her skimpy dress to her new boyfriend.
  • Sexy Scandinavian : Of course, the entire Swedish tanning team.
  • Sexy Surfacing Shot : Nick meets Inga, one of the bikini-clad Swedish girls while she climbs out of the pool in Slow Motion .
  • Spicy Latina : Gabriella, an attractive latina dance instructor with a spicy attitude who becomes Jerry's Love Interest .
  • Nick is seen at one point literally walking out of a closet.
  • The "cheese-flavored penises", get it? Dick cheese .
  • Nick's poker buddies Steven, Ron, and Perry. And, in a strange way, even Tom sorta counts despite the crossdressing.
  • Michael, the travel agent played by Will Ferrell , as well as his boyfriend Brian.
  • Lloyd, to an extent.
  • Tempting Fate : "How gay could a buffet be?" Cut to a buffet with large, phallic ice sculptures and water fountains.
  • Toplessness from the Back : When Gabriella undoes her bra in front of Jerry, the audience only see her from the back, while Jerry clearly sees her front.
  • Wall Bang Her : Jerry and Gabriella eventually have sex against a orange tree, causing them to be buried in a huge pile of oranges afterwards.
  • Tom. There's not a single scene where he isn't in some form of drag.
  • Also, Hector in his introductory scene.
