TAGAYTAY TRAVEL GUIDE with Sample Itinerary & Budget

TAGAYTAY TRAVEL GUIDE with Sample Itinerary & Budget

By continuing to read this article, you agree to double check with the authorities or other concerned entities for the latest updates.

Long before Manila-dwellers began a long-distance affair with the highlands of Baguio, Sagada and Kalinga, they have been in a long-standing romance with Tagaytay. It’s not a high-maintenance relationship. The physical connection is there. It is geographically close, easily accessible, and it doesn’t demand too much time or money. It’s the kind that will last over more decades.

Tagaytay is no stranger to me. I live in a Batangas town not too far away from Tagaytay. For the longest time, every time I would come back home, the van that I was riding would drive through the city. And since I started earning on my own, it would be my go-to place for clarity or peace of mind. And I’m not alone in this.

WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?

UNDERSTANDING TAGAYTAY

Located just around 60km from Manila, Tagaytay City has always been the go-to destination for those wishing to escape the searing heat of the capital, especially in the summer season. They come here for two reasons: a cooler climate and a breathtaking view of Taal Lake and Volcano.

Most people think that Taal Volcano is the small cratered hill on one end of the island in the middle of the lake often depicted in postcards and photographs. The truth is, that is Binintiang Malaki , just one of the volcano’s many cones and craters. Taal Lake itself was actually the caldera of an enormous ancient volcano formed after cataclysmic eruptions in the prehistoric times. The only active part now is that island in the middle of the lake called Volcano Island .

Like a giant balcony with a fantastic view, Tagaytay is perched on the northern ridges of Taal Lake, attracting thousands of vacationers and supporting its massive tourism industry. Its highways and inner alleys are lined with a wide array of accommodations, from luxury villas to budget hotels, and restaurants, ranging from fine dining to its homegrown fast food places.

Tagaytay is also a great base for travelers who wish to explore neighboring municipalities like Alfonso and Amadeo, and even parts of Batangas like the volcano itself, Nasugbu, and Lemery.

Tagaytay takes a rectangular shape on the map, so it’s easy to navigate. At the very center of it is the Tagaytay Rotonda, from which stems out four main roads:

tourist spot near smdc tagaytay

  • Emilio Aguinaldo Highway , which connects Tagaytay to Imus, Dasmarinas, and Manila.
  • Tagaytay-Calamba Road , which links the city to the towns of Laguna. If you’re coming from South Luzon Express Way (SLEX), you’ll eventually hit this road going to Tagaytay.
  • Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway , which can take you to Alfonso (Cavite) and Nasugbu and Lemery (Batangas).
  • Tagaytay-Talisay Road , which cuts across a forested slope to Talisay (Batangas), where Taal Volcano is located.

Being familiar with these roads will make your travel planning a lot easier, especially when picking a hotel and places to visit.

Here are more useful bits about Tagaytay.

  • Language: Tagalog is used by most. But English is widely understood and spoken.
  • Currency: Philippine peso (PHP, ₱). PHP100 is around USD 1.90, EUR 1.69, SGD 2.57 (as of April 2019).
  • Modes of payment: Credit cards are accepted by many establishments but CASH is still king (and queen) in Tagaytay.
  • Electricity Info: 220V, 60Hz. Plug and socket Type A.

WHERE TO STAY IN TAGAYTAY

In places like El Nido or Batanes, I usually don’t mind staying in a guest house with no view and no frills because I would be spending much of my time outside anyway. But Tagaytay is one of those destinations where accommodations can make or break a trip. It’s all about the ambience and the experience. Whether you’re visiting Tagaytay to unwind, attend a conference, or have a romantic weekend, it is important to consider the location.

Best Area to Stay in Tagaytay

Tagaytay has become a major tourist magnet that it has become almost synonymous with this corner of Cavite. Property-owners often market and label their hotels, lodges or guesthouses “Tagaytay” even when they are technically located in surrounding municipalities like Alfonso, Silang, and Mendez. Try to keep that in mind when searching for a place to stay.

For tourists, there are three main areas that are great bases when exploring Tagaytay and nearby towns:

  • Tagaytay Rotonda Area. Often casually referred to as simply Olivarez. It is the center of the city. As explained above, the major roads running across the city start or end here. It is surrounded by countless lodging and dining options. It is also the main transportation hub.
  • Along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway. This is a little bit farther than the Rotonda area, but this has the best view of the lake and the volcano, provided that you book a hotel on the lakeside. This is also where SkyRanch and Ayala Malls Serin are located.
  • Along Tagaytay-Calamba Road. This area is closest to tourist spots like Tagaytay Picnic Grove and People’s Park in the Sky. Lots of restaurant and hotel options too, with some also offering a good view of the lake.

Personally, I like staying along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Road because it’s a lot quieter and has the best view of the lake. If you don’t trust my word, here are the top budget hotels in Tagaytay as scored by Agoda users.

Top Budget Hotels and BnBs in Tagaytay

The best hotels in Tagaytay are expensive, but there are some exceptions. Bed-and-breakfast places also offer a great alternative. Here’s a list compiled using Agoda reviews.

Top Apartments and Condo for Rent in Tagaytay

If budget is an issue, then ditch the hotel and consider staying at a BnB, guesthouse, or apartment for rent, which are significantly cheaper. There’s been a considerable number of condo units for rent at Wind Residences (SMDC) along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway and Tagaytay Prime Residences near Rotonda. Here are the top rated apartments/condo units on Agoda.

HOW TO GET TO TAGAYTAY

Manila to tagaytay by bus.

tourist spot near smdc tagaytay

You can catch a bus to Tagaytay at the following terminals.

  • Uniwide Coastal Mall in Paranaque. Make your way to the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), also called South West Integrated Provincial Terminal. Board a bus bound for Tagaytay, Mendez (neighboring town), or Nasugbu. This bus will be taking Emilio Aguinaldo Highway.
  • DLTB Terminal at LRT Buendia area (near LRT Gil Puyat Station), Pasay City. Board the bus bound for either Nasugbu or Calatagan. This will be taking South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Carmona Exit and will pass through Tagaytay.

Fare: Around P87. Travel time is 2-3 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Might be much longer during rush hour.

Some important reminders.

  • DO NOT TAKE THE BUS TO LEMERY. Lemery-bound buses take the SLEX + STAR Toll. It doesn’t pass through Tagaytay. Buses are not allowed to take Diokno Highway, which connects Tagaytay and Lemery. I know this because I’m from Lemery and our house is very close to Diokno Highway.
  • If your hotel is located along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway and you’re on a Nasugbu or Calatagan bus, you don’t need to get off at Olivarez or Rotonda. You can stay in the bus and tell the conductor to drop you off at the hotel.
  • If you’re going to SkyRanch or Wind Residences , there’s a big chance the bus will not really pass by either even if the driver or conductor says so. Most buses take Mahogany Avenue, which bypasses a section of Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway approaching Mendez. Instead, they will drop you off at the Petron Gas Station. That’s okay, though, because it’s within walking distance. (SkyRanch is a longer walk but very manageable.) SEE MAP BELOW.

tourist spot near smdc tagaytay

Manila to Tagaytay by Van

You can also ride a shared van to Tagaytay. Vans bound for Nasugbu, Calatagan or Lemery pass through Tagaytay. You can find one at the following places.

  • Starmall EDSA-Shaw. You’ll find vans bound for Lemery at the terminal in front of the mall, along EDSA.
  • Alabang. There are vans bound for Tagaytay at Festival Mall Alabang, near the Goldilocks exit. (I haven’t tried it, though.) In addition, there used to be vans bound for Lemery dispatched from the parking area of Starmall Alabang. But they already moved to the area behind the mall, near the ukay-ukay area and PNR Train counter. The number of available vans and passengers has been dwindling so you might be in for quite the wait.
  • Metropoint Mall. I’m not sure if there are still vans here going to Calatagan. There used to be, but I haven’t checked in a long time. If there still is, you can take the van going to Calatagan. If vans no longer operate here, you can cross to the other side of EDSA and catch a bus to Calatagan instead.

Whatever you take, tell the driver to drop you off in Tagaytay.

Fare is P180-P200, depending on which part of Manila you’re originating. It’s pricier because vans behave like point-to-point shuttles. Even though you’re alighting in Tagaytay, you’re still paying for the full journey. A passenger getting off in Tagaytay pays the same as another getting off in Batangas.

Important reminders:

  • If you’re taking a van to Lemery, tell the driver to drop you off in Tagaytay. Unlike their bus counterparts, Lemery-bound vans usually pass through Tagaytay. However, there are instances when the driver chooses to take the SLEX-STAR Tollway route. It usually happens when there is heavy traffic in Tagaytay/Santa Rosa areas. To be sure, let the driver know that your destination is Tagaytay so he won’t take any detour.
  • Vans don’t follow any fixed schedule. The vehicle will NOT leave the terminal unless it is full. If you’re in a hurry and there’s only one vacant seat, you can pay for it and the driver will gladly start the journey. If time is of the essence and there are a lot of empty seats, take the bus instead.

HOW TO GET AROUND TAGAYTAY

There are no taxis in Tagaytay, and Grab doesn’t have any presence either. There are only three modes of transportation available:

  • Jeepney. When traveling within the city, the most usual way is by jeepney. From Olivarez/Rotonda, you can take a jeepney to any direction. You can also ride one from any point along the highway back to the city center. Minimum fare is P9, which increases as you go father.
  • Bus. You can also take the bus if you’re coming from Rotonda area and going to Mendez, Alfonso, Nasugbu or any destination along Nasugbu-Tagaytay Highway.
  • Tricycle. This is the closest thing to a taxi that you can get. You can charter a tricycle to take you straight to your destination. When I asked, “special trips” within the city cost P100. Special, meaning you won’t be sharing the tricycle with anyone else. But if you’re going to the city center, you can pay the per-person charge, which should be around P20. Maybe higher or lower, depending on distance.

THINGS TO DO IN TAGAYTAY & NEARBY TOWNS

Taal volcano.

UPDATE! Taal Volcano recently erupted and is closed to the public.

tourist spot near smdc tagaytay

Tagaytay offers the best views of Taal Volcano. But you know what’s better than admiring it from afar? Being on the volcano itself. From Tagaytay, you can travel to the Batangan town of Talisay, where you can charter a boat that can take you to the volcano island. Once there, you’ll start your trek to the breathtaking caldera. Good if you’re a group so you could split the expenses.

How to get there: From Tagaytay, you can charter a tricycle to take you to Talisay for P150-200. Then, find a boat, which costs P2000 (maximum of 6 pax). It’s also possible to reach Talisay by jeepney, but I don’t have the details.

I’m not fully familiar with this route, to be honest. I’ve been to Taal Volcano and hiked to its main caldera before, but I didn’t come from Tagaytay. I went straight to Talisay via Tanauan.

SkyRanch Tagaytay

tourist spot near smdc tagaytay

SkyRanch is a relatively new attraction in Tagaytay. Perched on a cliff, overlooking the lake, this is an amusement park built for the enjoyment of the whole family. There are rides for kids and activities for the kids-at-heart. The most arresting structure is the SkyEye , a 63-meter ferris wheel with 32 gondolas. It’s also lined with restaurants and food kiosks!

Hours open Monday-Friday, 10am-10pm Saturday-Sunday, 8am-10pm

Entrance Fee Weekdays: P80 Weekends: P100

Here are the attractions at SkyRanch and the corresponding admission fees.

SkyEye: P150 Super Viking: P100 Flying Bus: P100 Sky Cruiser: P100 Log Coaster: P100 Safari Splash: P120 Bumper Boat: P100 Bumper Race: P100 Drop Tower: P100 Express Train: P80 City Rail: P80 Mini Viking: P50 Racing Car: P50 Nessie Coaster: P50 Wonder Flight: P50 Red Baron: P50 Boat Parade: P50 Toy Swing: P50

How to get there: From Olivarez, ride a jeepney bound for Mendez or Nasugbu. Get off at Sky Ranch. Fare is around P15.

Tagaytay Picnic Grove

tourist spot near smdc tagaytay

Another family-friendly park in Tagaytay. For the longest time, this was the go-to place for relaxation, but a lot has changed (or have not changed) over the years. More attractions like the zipline and cable car ride were introduced, which are great for families. I personally think the park itself has lost its main appeal. But check it out regardless.

Entrance fee: P50

Parking Fee: P35, cars; P50, vans or jeepneys.

Zipline & Cable Car Rates: Weekdays: 1-way ride, P200; 2-way ride, P300. Weekend/Holidays: 1-way ride, P300; 2-way ride, P400.

Hut/Cottage Rental: P100, P150, P300, P500

Operating hours: 7am-7pm

People’s Park in the Sky

It used to be known as Palace in the Sky. Built under Marcos in 1979, it was supposed to be a guest house for visiting US President Ronald Reagan. But due to turning political tides back then, the “palace” was not finished and the visit cancelled. After the EDSA revolution, the name changed to People’s Park in the Sky.

Today, it hasn’t been well-maintained but remains a top attraction in Tagaytay because of the fantastic vista. After all, it stands at the highest point of Tagaytay, allowing a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape.

How to get there: From Olivarez, charter a tricycle for P150 for special trip or P50 per person.

Puzzle Mansion

Puzzle-lovers unite! The Puzzle Mansion in Tagaytay’s Barangay Asisan houses the world’s largest collection of jigsaw puzzles — all 1028 pieces of them — as certified by the Guiness Book of World Records. This was owned by Georgina Gil-Lacuna who collected these puzzles from her travels.

Entrance fee: P100

Hours open: 8am-5pm

How to get there: From Olivarez/Rotonda, ride a jeepney bound for Alfonso or Nasugbu. Get off at Brgy. Asisan. You can tell the driver to drop you off at the corner going to Puzzle Mansion. Fare: P15. Then hail a tricycle to take you to Puzzle House. Fare: P100.

tourist spot near smdc tagaytay

Caleruega is located in Nasugbu, Batangas, but it is easily accessible from Tagaytay. The place got its name from the municipality of Caleruega in Spain, the birthplace of the father of the Order of the Preachers, Saint Dominic de Guzman. It was built to serve as a venue for contemplation, but has made a name for itself over the years as one of the most well-known wedding venues in the country. It also harbors well-maintained retreat houses and well-manicured gardens.

How to get there: At Olivarez/Rotonda, take the jeepney bound for Nasugbu and tell the driver to drop you off at Hillcrest/Evercrest. Fare: P25. From KC Hillcrest entrance, hail a tricycle to Caleruega Chapel. Fare: P50.

Fantasy World

tourist spot near smdc tagaytay

Fantasy World is an unfinished theme park project in the middle of the rolling hills of Lemery, Batangas. (Yep, it’s in Lemery!) Although the construction was halted, they were able to build the castle, which was the park’s centerpiece.

Over the past years, it has become a filming location for movies like Got 2 Believe (starring Claudine Barretto and Rico Yan) and Fantastica (Vice Ganda) and TV shows like GMA 7’s Majika (Angel Locsin, Dennis Trillo).

The rides are not operational, but the park and the castle remains Instagram-worthy. It’s a favorite prenup spot too.

Entrance fee: P100 per person. This used to be P1000 for a group of 10, but this has been changed in November 2019.

How to get there: From Olivarez, ride a jeepney or bus to Boundary (Cavite-Batangas boundary). Fare: P25 for jeepney, P39 for bus. At the boundary, ride a jeepney bound for Lemery and ask to be dropped off in front of Fantasy World. Fare: P18. If there are no jeepneys, you can take a tricycle but it’s pricey. Fare is P200 per ride (not per person).

Tip: There is a cafe nearby called “ Brewed For You .” If you’re visiting around lunch time or you just get hungry, you can stop by and have a bowl of Batangas lomi (P100) and a cup of kapeng barako (P40).

Tagaytay Food Trip

One of the things my cousins and I used to do when we were kids was count the number of restaurants when we were passing through Tagaytay. Many of them are standing strong to this day. From local bulaluhan to western restaurants to food parks to fast food chains, there’s no shortage of dining places in Tagaytay.

Leslie’s and Josephine Restaurant are two local favorites for families. Don’t forget to order a bowl of sinful bulalo! If you’re celebrating something special or you’re simply after ambiance and elegance, there’s Antonio’s Restaurant and Sonya’s Garden (farther in Alfonso).

Bag of Beans has also made a name for themselves for their generous servings of scrumptious dishes. Aside from their main branch along Mendez Crossing, they have five other branches now including one at Summit Ridge (near Robinson’s Supermarket and SM Wind Residences) and one near Silang Crossing (Athena). Try their roast beef!

tourist spot near smdc tagaytay

There budget-friendly places too. Mushroom Burger is the first that comes to mind. It’s a fast-food-style resto featuring mushrooms as their main ingredients. If you’re staying along Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway, you can easily get here. If you’re coming from SkyRanch, it’s just a 10-minute walk away.

SAMPLE TAGAYTAY ITINERARY

Below is a sample overnight Tagaytay itinerary, good for a weekend. It assumes you’re a party of two, splitting some of the costs and taking public transportation from Manila.

Note that the bulk of the cost is the zipline, which costs P300 on weekdays and P400 on weekends. If you’re not interested in this, you can skip this too.

If you decide to skip Fantasy World and Zipline, the total cost will be pushed down to only around P2800 (USD 54, SGD 73, EUR 48) per person.

Any more helpful detailed instructions other than “van terminal near the station” for LRT Gil Puyat? Would like to find that FX terminal. (By the way, no signs for visiting commuters that says LRT Buendia, just LRT “Gil Puyat”.) Second question: do you know that the DLTB terminal there is still running services from that terminal to Tagaytay, and have not been moved to PITX?

Yosh Dimen

Hi! We checked again today and found that there are no longer vans bound for Lemery near the LRT station. But the DLTB bus terminal still operates there.

We’ll update the post accordingly.

Thanks so much for checking that question about Tagaytay transport from around LRT Gul Puyat.

And even with its proximity, it hosts a number of scenic spots, delectable food places, and fun activities suited for couples, families, barkada, and even the solitary traveler. It is, arguably, one of the most famous and loved tourist spots in the Philippines.  The city provides a cool and breezy holiday—the so called Tagaytay weather—to soothe frayed nerves and bestow a renewed sense of vitality to city-worn souls. Much has been written about this place, but for those new to the city, this Tagaytay travel guide (with a sample itinerary and a budget guide) is an invaluable resource for a trip to literally one of the coolest places this side of the Philippines.

WHAT'S THE BEST TIME TO GO TO TAGAYTAY

If you really want to enjoy the cold Tagaytay weather, then the best time to go to Tagaytay is during the cooler months of the year, that is, from November to February. It may seem like a good idea to go during the summer months of March to June, but the temperature is really almost the same as that in Metro Manila—hot and humid. It's actually better to go during the rainy months of June to October, as it does get really cool in Tagaytay during those months and the chances of encountering a poetically foggy Tagaytay is also high. The only drawback, of course, is you'd have to be toting an umbrella with you all the time.

ESSENTIAL INFO FOR TRAVELERS

● Currency is in Philippine Peso. USD 1.00 is about PHP 55.00. ● ATM machines (more than twenty) are readily available along Tagaytay's main highway. ● Filipino or Tagalog is main language spoken in Tagaytay, English coming in second. ● Type A (two flat vertical pins) is the electrical outlet used in Tagaytay ● A light jacket is usually enough for a tour of Tagaytay during the cold months. Bring a thicker one if you plan on staying overnight. If you're going during summer months, a shirt is more than enough as it really doesn't get that cold. ● It is generally safe in Tagaytay. Crime rate is pretty low. You may encounter touts on a couple of tourist places offering Taal boat tours before the volcano eruption, but they're really not that persistent. ● In cases of emergency, there are a lot of hospitals and clinics in Tagaytay.

HOW TO GET TO TAGAYTAY

Tagaytay City is located fifty-five kilometers south of Metro Manila—one of the reasons why so many tourists do a Tagaytay daytrip from Manila. It is easily accessible by air-conditioned public transportations via buses and vans from city terminals around Metro Manila. Driving to Tagaytay City by car is also quite easy.

Going To Tagaytay By Bus

There are buses from the San Agustin EDSA Rotunda terminal and the Nasugbu DLTB Terminal in LRT Buendia that goes straight to Tagaytay. The main hub of buses that go to Tagaytay is located at the PITX or the Paranaque Integrated Terminal at the old Uniwide Coastal Mall in Pasay City . ● DLTB BUS CO. - Buendia | (02) 843 0246, (0995) 708-7169, (0949) 520-5582 | Trip starts at 4:00 AM ● LORNA EXPRESS - PITX | (0975) 372-5886 ● SAN AGUSTIN - EDSA Rotunda | (02) 8872-8497 | 3:00 AM to 11:00 PM ● ERJOHN ALMARK TRANSIT- PITX | (0943) 702-3724, (0906) 510-4385, (046) 686-8214 ● BSC (BATMAN STAREXPRESS CORP.) - PITX, EDSA Rotunda | (02) 283-6424

Going To Tagaytay By Transport Van

○ MANILA TO TAGAYTAY BY VAN ○ 1.5 TO TWO HOURS TRAVEL TIME ○ FARE FROM PHP180.00 +/-

Taking a van or FX is another alternative in going to Tagaytay. Although it is much more expensive than a bus, travel time is faster since it goes through SLEX and bypasses the traffic-ridden roads of Cavite. Its terminals are located at the EGI Mall near the LRT Gil Puyat Station (Taft Avenue cor. Buendia, 6:00am to 8:00pm), StarMall Mandaluyong (EDSA cor. Shaw Blvd.), Metropoint Mall at Edsa Rotunda , and at the back of McDonald’s at the Edsa-Taft MRT Station .

Going To Tagaytay By Private Car

○ MANILA TO TAGAYTAY BY PRIVATE CAR ○ ONE TO 1.5 HOURS TRAVEL TIME

Driving to Tagaytay City via private car is easy enough. Drive through SLEX and take the Sta. Rosa Exit. From there, it’s a straight drive to Tagaytay City. As you arrive at the Olivarez Rotunda, turn right to go to the restaurants in Magallanes Square and turn left if you want to visit People’s Park and Picnic Grove.

WHERE TO STAY IN TAGAYTAY

Tagaytay City is replete with numerous high-end hotels and inns that can accommodate the A, B, and C crowds—yes, a Tagaytay budget staycation is entirely possible. They have huge five-star and boutique hotels for those with deep pockets, they have beautiful bed and breakfasts for mid-level tourists, and inns and hostels for thrifty backpackers. Below are some of the places me and my friends have actually stayed on in Tagaytay.

WHERE TO EAT IN TAGAYTAY

Tourists wouldn’t run out of places to eat while in the city. Tagaytay’s main specialty is bulalo, a hot bowl of soup filled with veggies, chunks of beef meat, and an actual bone—for the marrow. It fits the area’s cool weather quite well. If you want to avoid the cholesterol levels of this dish however, the place is also replete with all sorts of restaurants serving all kinds of cuisines, be it Filipino, American, Chinese, etc. For those on a budget, carinderia stalls, gotohan, and eateries also abound along the city’s Nasugbu-Tagaytay Highway.

WHAT TO SEE AND DO IN TAGAYTAY

The city and its surrounding towns offer a lot of fun activities and places to visit for the perfect Tagaytay weekend getaway. There are picnic grounds, tree-covered parks, hidden gardens, biking and horse-riding grounds, and a host of other activities fit for both young and old alike.

WHAT TO BUY IN TAGAYTAY

Tagaytay City is known for two things, affordable beef meat and buko pies. But dig some more and you’d find other noteworthy pasalubong from this misty city like honey bee products, tarts, jams, pinipig , knives made from its neighboring province of Batangas, and the usual keychains and souvenir shirts.

SAMPLE TAGAYTAY ITINERARY & TRAVEL BUDGET GUIDE

A day trip from Manila is enough to cover most of the tourist attractions in Tagaytay City, but extending overnight is definitely better as you get to experience the night life at the restaurants along the Magallanes area. Nothing beats having coffee or beer in the evening with the cool Tagaytay weather and the moonlit Taal as your backdrop. in extending overnight, you would also have the option of visiting the Taal Volcano, which is accessible via the town of Talisay in Batangas. For this Tagaytay itinerary and travel budget guide, the majority of the second day’s expenses are from the Taal Volcano tour. And yes, It is quite expensive. So, it’s really up to you if you want to proceed with it or simply stay at Tagaytay itself, have a food trip and enjoy its cool weather—which is infinitely cheaper. Whether you decide on staying overnight or just have a day tour, it would still definitely fit your Tagaytay weekend getaway.     And as always, I made this Tagaytay travel guide with the cheapest expenses in mind—the lodgings are the lowest priced I found on Agoda, the food are all based on having meals in carinderias , and the transportation costs would have you riding jeepneys. Indeed, if you want a Tagaytay budget staycation, then here it is. If you, however, have a bigger budget, I would definitely advise on eating on the more famous restaurants in Tagaytay I recommended below. Part of the enjoyment of going to Tagaytay is actually eating out.

Nice post. Complete na ha. ;)

Thanks Michi! Although this is far from complete yet, ang dami pang kainan at nice hotels na hindi ko pa nafea-feature sa Tagaytay :)

Galeng. What every travel guide blog post should be.

Salamat Marky :)

I love this share... been looking a good and perfect Tagaytay itinerary. It's more fun in our province - Cavite!

Thank you Ian, hope you find this Tagaytay travel guide useful :)

Very nice guide, Christian. Salamat sa pagpromote sa bayan ko hihi! I'd include LZM, Pancake House (the steak/beef is of better quality in that branch, I tell you), Sonya's Garden and the tiny panaderia near my place called Junil's (24-hour pandesal) to the list of eateries. Also, a short day trip to beaches of Nasugbu from Aguinaldo Highway would be great for those 3 day weekends :)

Hi Drew! Will include those once I tried them out :) By the way what's LZM? :)

Galing! wla ng mas complete pa dito.. :)

Thanks Kath! Musta na? :)

Hi! Nice post about Tagaytay! I'll definitely go back and try some places there. I've only went recently to Antonio's and Puzzle Mansion in Tagaytay. Maybe you could try them too. Thank you for the post!

Hi Carmi! I haven't been to the puzzle mansion and Antonio's but sure I'll add them to this post :)

Hi, You've put a strikethrough on the van transpo. Is it no longer available? I heard there were vans from the LRT Gil Puyat station at the EGI building. Thanks!

Hi Dennis, the last time I dropped by Buendia, I asked if there are still vans going to Tagaytay and it seems wala na yata. Don't worry I'll ask around again and update the travel guide next time I pass by the place. :)

Thanks! This is very helpful.

Welcome Dennis :)

Thank you for this post. It really helps! :)

No problem Angelo, enjoy Tagaytay!

Thank you for the guide...

This is the best travel guide I have read. Good job! Keep it up! *thanks!! :)

Thank you Kristine, glad you find my tagaytay travel guide useful :)

mga nsa magkano po kaya magagastos mo sa lahat ng yan bukod po muna ung sa accomodation...

Hi Janz, the cost of your Tagaytay trip will depend largely on where you would eat

Thank you! very helpful, specially the map :))

No problem Jody! Enjoy your Tagaytay trip :)

Hi Christian! First of all, this is a really nice guide! :) Ask ko lang kung magkano estimate na gastos if susundin ko yung day trip itinerary mo? I already planned using this as a guide, all that's left is to estimate the cost. Thank you very much!

Hi Don, everything actually will depend on how much you're gonna spend on your meals and where you're gonna stay. Most of the places included in the list have either minimal or free entrances :)

Hi. Can we roam the whole place by bringing our own car?

It actually is easier to tour Tagaytay by car than by commuting :)

wow! sobrang ok! thank you! lalo yung map.. hinahanap ko ko talaga yang ganyan to see kung ano yung magkakalapit na lugar. tanong ko lang po, plan ko kase is from manila around 8am 1st stop would be sa pink sisters then lunch na sa sonya's garden.. e malayo pala sonya's garden from pink sisters... kaya ba na mag sky eye muna from pink sisters before lunch sa sonya's?

Yup, sakto na you do the Sky Ranch muna before heading to Sonya's Garden :)

Andito lahat ng hinahanap ko ah. Ang galing! Feeling ko, kulang kulang 3k siguro if ever kung susundin ko yung itinerary or less if yung buong maghapon lang. Thanks for this! Nag ka idea ako where to celebrate yung birthday namin ng Hubby ko. We share the same birth date kc. Hehe!

I think 3k would be more than enough if you're not staying overnight in Tagaytay. :)

Thanks for this itinerary Christian, we're off this Holiday (June 12, 2014) with my friends to Tagaytay and luckily came across your site, you just saved us from a headache planning the trip...heheheheh. We'll be doing a day-tour so your itinerary is just perfect. Thanks so much again... c",)

No problem Anjo, enjoy exploring Tagaytay City :)

balak ko i-treat at maigala si GF dito sa tagaytay this 3rd week of JULY , natatakot lang ako bumiyahe baka magkaligaw-ligaw kami.. hope malaking tulong samin to.. sana may ma guide samin :)

Touring Tagaytay is pretty straightforward Jojie, kayang kaya mo yan. Use my Tagaytay map as guide :)

Now lang uli nkavisit dito, successful naman ang aming trip sa tagaytay, salamat ng marami Christian :)

Good to hear! :)

May article ka ba na papuntang Bohol? Check ko lang mga itineraries mo.. :)

I'll be doing an itinerary in the near future po :)

Very helpful post! Complete with links pa, thank you!

Hi Anne! Glad you find my Tagaytay guide helpful! Enjoy your trip :)

Hi! This is so helpful! Thanks so much for posting this. By the way, can I ask for a larger copy of the Map please? We would like to use it as our guide in our adventure in Tagatay. Thank you in advance! :) - Joyce

Hello Joyce, sorry I really don't have a bigger map. But still, I think this is enough to generally give you a sense of where the tourist spots are in Tagaytay :)

Galing mu naman....

Thank you, were you able to use the guide? :)

Hello po. Me and my friends are really excited for our Tagaytay Escapade this coming weekdays. Is 3K each enough na po ba for everything? :)

Budget would depend on a lot of things, are you going there by car? Where are you gonna eat, how much are you gonna eat? Are you going to stay overnight? Where are you going to stay. It all depends on you guys :)

Nope po. Magcocommute lang po, we'll be staying in cavite, near starfish po. We can prepare our packed lunch na po.

Abegael, in that case, I think 3k is more than enough :)

Hi, just stumbled on this via google since I've been looking for a good itinerary to Tagaytay and I find this very useful. Will try this out since we're planning to celebrate anniversary there. By the way, I just have a question, ito po bang itinerary na ito, are the places close to each other as they were listed.? Kasi, we plan to just commute in Tagaytay para mas adventurous. Mas ok po kasi kung malaman namin if these places are close, para hindi na pabalik-balik kung sakali. But then, thanks for the idea this post has given me. But I'll be more thankful if you could answer my question. Hehe. :)

Hi Junie Ann, please refer to the map I made for the location and proximity of the tourist spots in Tagaytay :)

I see. Sorry have to ask that earlier coz I wasn't able to see the map, my bad. But thanks for the info.

No worries! Have fun at Tagaytay! :)

nice tips and guide..sana ganto lahat ng adventure guides..thanks po.. btw, updated po ba to time to time?kahit 2013 pa posted.?kasi baka may new spot na sa tagaytay.. :)

Hi Rodel, yes I do update this guide from time to time. Last update was done July 2014 :)

Hi! My mom and I we're planning to spend christmas in tagaytay. I already booked for 2 nights in viewpark hotel. Can you help us in our itinerary please?? This are the places we wanted to visit sana kaya lang im not sure if magkakalapit sila. Our Lady of Manaoag at tierra de maria Puzzle Mansion Picnic Grove Mahogany Market Mushroom Burger Loumar's Cafe Sonya's Garden Pink Sisters Bag of Beans Caleruega Church

Hi there, please check out out the Tagaytay tour map I provided above. The food places are not listed there but you can manually check it using the coordinates I also posted for each restaurant :)

Shared this page on my blog post! It helped me a lot! We recently went to tagaytay last month :) http://www.kikaysikat.com/2014/10/tagaytay-day-tour-itinerary-budget.html

Glad to help out on your Tagaytay City itinerary Kat! :)

ok po ba magpunta ng tagaytay ng december? hindi po ba maulan?

December is actually the best time to go to Tagaytay, it's that time of the year when you'll really its cold weather :)

I will follow your Tagaytay Itinerary this weekend. Hoping for Best Tagaytay Experience

Good luck Jayson! Let me know how your Tagaytay trip went :)

How much should be my budget if i am planning to visit tagaytay for the whole day? 3-4k? Will it be enough to enjoy what tagaytay offers?

That's more than enough to see and eat in Tagaytay :)

Hello Christian! Thanks for sharing this travel-guide, you are a big help to those who planned to visit Tagaytay. Cheers!

Glad my blog helped you explore Tagaytay, Carlhie :)

Hello, Christian! Thanks for this travel guide,:) This coming Christmas kc were planning to visit Tagaytay w/ my workmates:)

Hi MJ! I hope you enjoyed your Christmas Tagaytay trip :)

Kumpleto Recados ... wala nang hahanapin pa : )) Kudos

Salamat Krizmae, if you can suggest some other tourist spots in Tagaytay, I'll be glad to add it here :)

hi christian! am planning to take a van to tagaytay on a friday afternoon. saw in your article that the info about vans in egi jollibee in LRT taft corner buendia was slashed out. does this mean they aren't found there anymore? :( thanks!

Hi Anne, as far as I know, the vans from Buendia that goes to Tagaytay are already out of service. There are however buses near the area that serves the Tagaytay-Nasugbu route. What you can do is check out the vans if they're still there, if they're not, just take the buses right across the street. Good luck on your Tagaytay trip and let me know how it turns out. :)

Hi Christian! Would like to ask on the time of van's departure in Starmall Mandaluyong.

HI Anonymous, unfortunately I have no exact schedule for the Tagaytay vans from Starmall Mandaluyong

Hello Christian! I found your site while searching for info about Tagaytay, I am planning to do a day tour ...Great site and very informative. I am a Filipino and this will be my first time to be back after 25 years. I am sure ibang iba na. Thanks! from Pedro

Hi Pedro, now that's interesting! I can't imagine what Tagaytay must've looked like 25 years before! Can you share your impression after your trip? :)

Hello Christian! mahirap po bang ang byahe kung pupunta dyan ng Feb 14? tsaka need bang mgpareserve sa mga resto at places na pupuntahan pag mga peak seasons like Feb 14 - From Donn

Hi Ralph, sorry for the late reply. I haven't really visited Tagaytay City on a Valentine's Day but I think it would be best if you reserve beforehand. How was your experience by the way?

hi christian, thanks for these, sana hndi aq maligaw sa tagaytay. 1st time there :)

Don't worry Maricon, it's quite hard to get lost in Tagaytay, the place is pretty straightforward :)

Thanks po for the info! May i ask po kung existing pa din po yung mga van terminals? thanks po!

Hi Ver, yes the van terminals to Tagaytay are updated :)

Thanks to this page very helpfull. google map at gps lng ang aming gabay para ndi maligaw haha, day2 na ngayon picnic grove etc last na p2ntahan, syempre pasalubong. Salamat!!!

Glad my Tagaytay itinerary helped! :)

Thanks for this, very helpful.. You may also include this tagaytay Hotel - Summit Ridge.

meron po bang buses sa coastal mall to tagaytay nang 7am?

Hi, I'm not really sure what's the earliest time the buses for Tagaytay leave from Coastal Mall. Just to be sure, you might want to head over to Edsa Rotunda below MRT Taft, where they start at 4am. They usually drop Tagaytay tourists at Magallanes Square (in front of the Tagaytay Ridge where Starbucks is located). Regarding your PM, I recommend around 8pm for going back to Manila. Not that much commuters by that time and no more traffic too. :)

Hi! pupunta ako Tagaytay Country Homes 1 next week, di ako pamilyar sa tagaytay, anong malapit na pasyalan around that area ang pwede kong puntahan? di kasi ako pamilyar sa address?

Hi, sorry I'm not that familiar with Tagaytay Country Homes, you might want to look for it on Google Maps and compare that against the Tagaytay Tourist Spot Map I posted above :)

Yes, there are jeepneys in the area that can take you from one Tagaytay tourist spot to the next, just ask the driver before boarding if he's gonna pass where you're going to be sure.

Hi Sir Christian. i wonder how much will it cost me if we celebrate our 1st year Anniversary in Tagaytay with my Girlfriend. Thanks

Hi, your Tagaytay budget would depend on where you would book your stay and where you would eat and how many times you would eat. :)

Hi Sir, meron po ba kayo idea magkano magagastos if susundin ko po yung itinerary nyo? We'll be eating what is best on the restaurants included in the itinerary. Pa exclude nalang po yung expenses for hotel and pasalubong. Thanks in advance

Without the hotel and pasalubong, I guess 2,000 to 2,500 pesos per person would be safe enough :)

It's a lovely post REALLY. you captured it all Please tell me is it a good enough place to stay there with my girlfriend for 3 days.? I am going to meet her from London for the first time. It's our 1st meeting ever

Hi Sikander, if you take it slow, three days in Tagaytay is perfect. Be sure to book in on a beautiful resort to make it more romantic. Check out the list of hotels in Tagaytay here: http://goo.gl/XMPAGX

Astig to paps. kompleto rekados na aa. sana mdmi k pang mapost na ganto. Happy New year.. Astig na site to!

Salamat! Will indeed post more travel guides in the future :)

I would like to know the bus time to travel back to manila from tagaytay. We plan to go back around evening time. Thank you.

There are buses from Tagaytay to Manila until around 9:00 PM or so. It does get harder to get one, the later it gets.

Hi I am an Indian.I am planing a day tour to Tagatay. Leave Manila by early morning say 7 AM an then come back from Tagatay at evening 5 PM. Just wanted to visit People's park.. I have a 2 yrs old kid. Is the Bus good for us? Is the duration good?

hi. I would like to ask if the van terminals in the said locations above are still operational today thank you - Z

Hi Z, last I checked, they're still are :)

Hi! Just want to check if the bus schedule above are still updated? Specifically San Agustin, 3:30am to 11:00pm? -Anthony

Hi Anthony, I can't really say as buses change their schedule every now and then, but the schedule is updated as of January of this year :)

hi, i am just wondering.. in your opinion, how much is will it take for a two day trip to tagaytay in average? your guide is amazing..

Hi, I will put up a Tagaytay budget section soon :)

Hi! Do you have any idea about the frequency of fx going to tagaytay at starmall?

Hi, sorry I have no idea about the frequency. If you were able to try it, please share your experience here :)

Hi, Christian! I'm from Davao and my family (2 Adults and 2 Teens) will be staying in Nuvali for 2 nights next week. During our stay, we plan to have a daytrip to Tagaytay. However, I wonder if it would be possible for us to visit some points of interest without a car. Here are the places we'd like to visit: 1) Church 2) Museo Orlina 3) The Puzzle Mansion 4) Sky Ranch 5) Bag of Beans (or any resto you highly recommend) 6) Memory Lane I really hope you can help me prepare itinerary and directions so I would be able to provide an unforgettable experience for my family. Thank you so much!

Hi, you can definitely explore Tagaytay without a car. You may board jeepneys along the highway and tricycles for the sidestreets :)

Hello po, Need advice po sana kung saan dapat unahing puntahan and sakyan sa mga lugar na pupuntahan namen sa tagaytay. We're planning to go to - PICNIC GROVE - PEOPLE’S PARK / PALACE IN THE SKY - STARBUCKS COFFEE TAGAYTAY - PARADIZOO THEME FARM AND ZOO Aside from that po wala na akong maisip na puntahan kasi hindi ko po masyadong kabisado ang tagaytay. Also any advice kung saan pwedeng kumain na magugustuhan ng mga bata yung food and place since may kasama po kaming 2 bata. Hope to see your reply soon.. That would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, for a clearer understanding of Tagaytay's layout, check the map I posted above. What you can do is start from the farthest from the left (when facing the lake) then work your way to the right. So, People's Park first, then Picnic Grove, then Starbucks Coffee (Magallanes branch), then lunch at the nearby restaurants along Starbucks (Leslie's is the usual choice), then Paradizoo :)

Tanong ko lang po kung paano pauwi and Van yung way namin, saan yung terminal na malapit if yung last itinerary mo is Starbucks

Hi Justhine, I'm not sure where the terminals are for vans going back to Manila from Tagaytay. My guess is at the Mendez area. My advice, take a bus going back to Manila. Much easier, since you can get one right in front of Starbucks Magallanes, and cheaper.

Hi punta kami sa sunday may 21 sa paradizoo ano po best way to commute papunta doon if nasa coastal mall na kmi please help...god bless

Ride a Tagaytay or Nasugbu bus from Coastal Mall, then ask the driver to drop you off at Paradizoo :)

Mga magkano po kaya ang van from mandaluyong to tagaytay ? thanks

Van from Mandaluyong to Tagaytay would be more or less about 180 pesos. :)

Thanks !ngayon alam ko na mga pupuntahan namin ng boyfriend ko sa tagaytay for our anniversary 😊 saang restaurant pala maganda mag dinner date ? thanks ..

Hi Mari, I would recommend Sonya's Garden for a romantic dinner. Medyo out of the way, but worh it. :)

Ah okay , thank you maganda ba ang view sa sonya's garden at masarap ba ang mga food ? ☺ thanks po sobra !

It's actually a garden, but it has no view of the Taal Lake. Check my review of Sonya's Garden on the link above on where to eat in Tagaytay. Food is on the veggie side, but they also have pasta, chicken and pastries. :)

Hi christian tnx for posting. Me and my partner has 2 days to enjoy n visit tagaytay to clebrate our 7th anniv. We book a hotel at casa alegria. Does you places to visit and places to eat as listed above is along the way? Pra sna smooth sailin lng byahe nmin balak nmin mgpnta sa bag of beans, sonyas garden, puzzle museum, and to eat at mahogany bulalohan.

Most of the places I listed are relatively near Casa Alegria. Are you bringing a car with you? Your hotel is just a bit out of the way since it's not on the main road. If you have a car, then that wouldn't really be a problem. If you're commuting, you just have to make a bit of an effort. I'm pretty sure there are tricycles that can bring you to the main road where you can catch a jeepneey to get to the tourist spots in Tagaytay.

Yes sir we have car. So maybe mas convinient kung gusto namin lumabas for an outside trip? Like food trip or other tagytay attractions. Thanks for the response. :)) medyo excited na din kami ni partner. Tnx again! Godbless

Hi Aileen, no problem then! It's very easy and straightforward to go to Tagaytay's tourist spots on car. For directions, you may check the map I posted above. Also, don't be shy to ask locals for directions :)

Hi! This is just perdere for a 2 day getaway! Would you know Of any car rentals with driver abd how much it would cost on a daily basis, say 10-12hours per day? Thanks! 😁

Hi Chacha, I'm not aware of car rental services in Tagaytay. To make sure, you may inquire at your hotel :)

Hi Donnielyn, if you're coming from Manila, I suggest you book here ( Taal Hike ). They have sharing options. This also saves a few hundreds since you won't have to go to Tagaytay, pick up is in Manila. After the hike, just ask the driver to drop you off to Tagaytay, if you want to stay in Tagaytay

Yung mga bus bacfrom pasaya to tagaytay is 24 hours yung byahe? Thanks

Hi Mitch, the buses bound for Tagaytay doesn't run 24 hours daily. As far as I know, the last trip is at 10pm. But just to be sure, please contact the bus operators on their landline :)

hi kasi darating kami ng madaling araw galing davao sa mla...24hours ba ang bus papauntang tagaytay? at san kmi ssakay?thanks

If you're coming from the airport, just ride an airport bus bound for MRT Taft, and at the back of McDonald's they have buses going to Tagaytay :)

Hi Christian, thanks for this post! it helps a lot. We are planning to go to Tagaytay on Saturday. Sakto ang post mo para sa 2 days & 1 night stay namin in Tagaytay. Keep it up! :)

Hi Leah, always glad to help! Enjoy your two-day trip to Tagaytay! :)

Hi. Thank you po sa blog niyong to. May mga tanong po ako: 1. May jeep po ba papuntang skyranch from picnic grove? 2. Ano po yung mga kainan nanmairecommend nyo yung malapit po sa picnic grove o kaya sa skyranch thank you po more powers po!

Yes, there are jeepneys feom Skyranch to Picnic Grove. From Skyranch take an Olivarez jeep, then at the terminal, ride a People's Park jeep. For restaurants near Picnic Grove, I highly recommend Cafe Voi La.

hi, ilang oras po ba byahe going to Taal po? tnx. Tagaytay po kami 2weeks from now

Hi Lesle, travel time from Manila to Tagaytay is around two hours minimum

your guide is so helpful! Galing :)

Thanks, ma'am :D

Thank you for this informative article.

No problemo Pol, enjoy your Tagaytay getaway :)

Hi, I'm Lester. Thank you for this wonderful blog! I guess this will be my guide this coming weekend. I know it's too much but May I ask for the directions on how to go to people's park from Picnic Groove, To mahogany market from People's Park, To Skyranch from Mahogany Market, and Last, to Starbucks Tagaytay downhill from Skyranch. Thank you so mucccch!!

Hi Lester, you can just flag down jeepneys along the highway to go to these places. Just ask the driver where you're heading before going in just to be sure. :)

Pano po kaya ang way pag nakamotor?

You can do the Bacoor route going to Tagaytay :)

good blog...very useful....alang taxi at grab dun ryt?

Hi, there's no grab, uber, or taxi in Tagaytay yet :)

Ung van ba dadaan ng sky ranch? Or smdc condo? Tnx

Hi, I'm not sure if the vans going to Tagaytay will actually reach Sky Ranch or even the SMDC Condo, your best bet is to ride the bus bound for Nasugbu. But please correct me if I'm wrong. :)

Hi, good day, i would like to ask how to go back to manila from tagaytay or twinlake? thank you.

Hi Justin, there are buses going back to Manila along the highway in Tagaytay

Hi Sir, can you also make a comment / review of the Dreamland Arts and Crafts. Thanks in advance! You have a very good travel guide. We'll use it this Holy Week 2018 (March 29). Best regards! c",)

Hi Mela, it's the first time I've heard of the place. Will feature it once I revisit Tagaytay :)

Hi! Will be going to Tagaytay from Cubao! May I know ano yung mga signage ng buses na pwede ko sakyan to get there? Thank you!

Hi there, look for buses with Nasugbu signage, but I don't think there are buses going to Tagaytay from Cubao.

Hello po, ask ko lang pano pumunta sa hotel namin (asian villagr tagaytay) from manila via public transpo. Thank you ;)

Tagaytay Weekend: Best View of Taal Lake Ever!

Summer in the philippines has yet to officially start as per ‘ pagasa ‘, but the cool winds of tagaytay beckoned our travel-hungry spirits to revisit this nearby town., weekend @ tagaytay.

Tagaytay is not a new tourist destination in the Philippines but it is a favorite among urban dwellers from Metro Manila who wants a quick weekend getaway that’s not too far from the metropolis.

Only an hour away from the Manila south ( excluding rush hour traffic ), Tagaytay is also a favorite for its high elevation’s cool climate serving as an escape from the heat of Manila. It’s continuos development stood witness to budding home-grown restaurants, hotels, and communities.

It’s been almost a year since we last visited summer of 2016. And we’ve been hoping for a quick Tagaytay trip  for sometime now. Fortunately, we finally found an escape even just for a night.

By default, we’ve thought of staying at a usual bed-&-breakfast type of accommodation, or maybe even in a hotel, in character of a usual itinerary for most visiting travelers to this summer destination.

However, it came as a pleasant surprise when we discovered about SMDC Wind Residences ‘ multiple options for Airbnb units which offered breath-taking views of the famous Taal Volcano , the smallest active volcano in the world, and the alluring Taal Lake  surrounding it, beset in between the laid-back provinces of Cavite and Batangas .

SMDC Wind Residences

A real-estate community project by SM Development Corporation  ( SMDC ), the  Wind Residences  commands a grand visual architecture of mid-rise vertical villages with country-club amenities.

Currently comprised of five towers ( with five more towers soon to rise ) situated along Aguinaldo Highway, the SMDC Wind Residences  is one of the biggest properties in Tagaytay with 15.45 hectares of land.

SMDC Wind Residences TagaytayIn addition to revisiting Tagaytay, we included a little food trip in our itinerary including restaurants we haven’t been to and having a taste of  Tagyatay Bulalo  ( bone marrow   soup ) the town is famous for.

Add to that spending quality time together as a couple since we’ve been quite busy from recent work.

Modern and Elegant Rooms

This was our first time to visit  SMDC Wind Residences Tagaytay . Entering their reception area seemed like entering a hotel lobby – a welcoming staff received us.

We mentioned our Airbnb unit number and we were asked for an ID card for proper identification and security. The in-house Airbnb manager also received and accompanied us to the elevator and our unit on the 21st floor.

Upon entering the room, the 3pm afternoon daylight clad the white walls, ceiling, and floor of what we call the “ White Room “.

Yes, it was a white-washed enclave with classical in-tone furniture, white-linen bed, and living room accented by grey-themed throw-pillows, vases, jars, and white flowers. Even the curtains and bedding was such a treat. The furniture designs were carefully matched each other with a dash of class and elegance.

A huge artisan wall clock served as a center-piece atop the bed headboard while two crystal-clad chandeliers hinged from the ceilings.

The kitchen corner was complete with cooking facilities including a cooker hob and hood, a mini refrigerator, microwave oven, an induction cooker, and an electric kettle as well.

The bathroom (toilet) tamed a bit to grey-scale interiors. It had the basic toiletries and clean towels except for a toothbrush set.

No need to worry though as a number convenient stores and restaurants are located at the 1st floors of all the 5 current towers of SMDC Wind Residences .

Furthermore, SMDC Wind Residences Tagaytay is just a few minutes away from the many unique restaurants like Antonio’s , The Bag of Beans , and  Lime and Basil among others.

You can say that the seemingly luxurious 32sqm room had everything you might need. By the way, our room is located at Tower 3, a stone’s throw away form the clubhouse swimming pool .

The Best Tagaytay View

But the best part is yet to be revealed!

Our bedroom offered a majestic view overlooking Taal Volcano and Taal Lake ! The best view of Tagaytay from a room we have ever stayed-in!

We spent the rest of the afternoon appreciating this view from the cozy veranda and from the comfort of our bed until the sunset.

You could say that ever side and corner of the room was Instagrammable ! 🙂

We also found a perfect spot to have coffee and  Batangas   hot tsokolate , perhaps for the morning, and to enjoy a delicious wine later that night.

Anticipating a good massage that night, we didn’t go far and had a quick dinner at Ersao Taiwanese Restaurant which is located at the ground floor of tower 1 .

We finally ended the day with a  home service massage  from local-townsfolk therapists for only Php 300   (Us$6-10) each. For such services, you can pre-arrange with the SMDC staff to help you connect with one. In the future, a spa or similar service establishment might be one of Wind Residences ‘ tenant, who knows! For the business minded, that’s a business opportunity!

Tagaytay Sunrise

Wifey woke up early to catch the  Tagaytay sunrise and jogged alongside the cool and windy breeze of the morning around the country-club.

Although, there’s no option for a breakfast buffet like in hotels, you can always order from nearby establishments and have them delivered at the comfort of your rooms.

If you’ve got a nice one such as ours, who would want to leave? 🙂

We got a brown bag of breakfast fares from Bag of Beans consisting of raisin bread, something sweet, fruits, and a freshly brewed coffee from our lessee’s kitchen.

Swimming Pool

One of the things we look forward to in our accommodations is the swimming pool. In this case, there’s not only one, but  three outdoor pools  and one indoor pool !

The country club also houses the adjacent wellness park, kid’s playground, darts room, and courts for different sports including basketball, tennis, and badminton!

Summer Festival at Wind Residences

As a community, events and activities are also on a sprawl, specially during the summer time. One of which is the upcoming Wind Summer Festival !

This coming April 22 – 23 , Wind Residences invites families and the ‘barkada’, practically everyone, to a weekend of good food and aerial shows at the SMDC Wind Summer Festival !

Guests can participate in the kite flying festival , shop in an organic weekend market and more! For the  millennials , there will also be a live performances from your favorite OPM artists . Know more about the summer festival at their Facebook Page here .

Sayang the place is ok sana but the maintenance is just so bad..rooms are dated and mukhang walang budget to replace rotten door jams broken plugs and cracked tiles. The cleanliness is very poor. Lots of removable soap scrum, dust and food crumbs on the chairs. I regret spending our long weekend here. We didn’t have a choice because I booked thru agoda and couldn’t get my money back
