How to use Cruise Control on Toyota Prius

The available Cruise Control System is engaged and adjusted with the controls located on a short stalk just behind the steering wheel on Toyota Prius.

You can use cruise control to maintain a set speed without using the accelerator. The system will only operate when the transmission is in D for drive, and the vehicle speed is faster than 25 miles per hour.

• To use Cruise Control, press the button at the end of the stalk. The Cruise indicator will appear in the instrument display.
• Accelerate to the desired speed, then press the lever down to set the cruise control speed.
• Once the Cruise Control speed is set, you could still increase vehicle speed with the accelerator, but when you release the accelerator pedal, the vehicle will return to the set speed.
• To increase the set speed, push and hold the lever up until the speed is reached.
• Release the lever and the system will work to hold that new set speed.
• To decrease the speed setting, push and hold the lever down until you reach the desired speed, then release it.
• The set speed will be erased when you turn Cruise Control, or the ignition, off.
• If the Cruise Control indicator flashes, use the On/Off button to turn it off and back on again.

• Product Description

This is a complete kit for the 2012-2017 Toyota Prius. Automatic and manual transmission. No other parts required. Very simple installation with very little disassembly required. The instrument cluster will show a "cruise on" indicator when the cruise switch is on, and an "engage" indicator when you are actually cruising. This kit comes with step-by-step instructions with pictures.

I was surprised how easy this was to install in a 2012 Prius. I did not need the additional wiring, so it would be nice if you could just buy the prius kit and not have extra wiring. I actually thought I did something wrong cause I did not need the wiring. Other than that, I used the video on this page and in about 30 mins I had cruise control installed. Hardest part was the battery. The actual install is very simple.

Victor M. Mukhin was born in 1946 in the town of Orsk, Russia. In 1970 he graduated the Technological Institute in Leningrad. Victor M. Mukhin defended a Ph. D. thesis and a doctoral thesis at the Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia (in 1979 and 1997 accordingly). Professor of Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia. Scientific interests: production, investigation and application of active carbons, technological and ecological carbon-adsorptive processes, environmental protection, production of ecologically clean food.

Adding cruise controller to prius c

hi guys, Need a little help in installing a cruise controller for my 2014 prius c. I did not had steering wheel controls at first and i installed aftermarket steering control unit. Before installing it i had this (photo1) and after that it was replaced to this (photo 2). I need to know whether a cruise controller can be installed to this. or do i have to do any other modification/pre-wiring to the system. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); thanks.
