Dua Lipa's ‘Future Nostalgia' tour will stop at The O2 for two consecutive nights in May 2022.

Speaking about ‘Future Nostalgia’ Dua explains “What I wanted to do with this album was to break out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to make music that felt like it could sit alongside some of my favourite classic pop songs, whilst still feeling fresh and uniquely mine. I was inspired by so many artists on the new record from Gwen Stefani to Madonna to Moloko to Blondie and Outkast, to name just a few.  

Dua continues “Because of the time that I’d spent on the road touring with my band I wanted ‘Future Nostalgia’ to have a lot more of a live element, but mixed together with modern electronic production. My sound has naturally matured a bit as I’ve grown up but I wanted to keep the same pop sensibility as I had on the first record. I remember that I was on my way to a radio show in Las Vegas thinking about the direction for this new record and I realised that what I wanted to make was something that felt nostalgic but had something fresh and futuristic about it too.”

Dua Lipa: how to get tickets for her Royal Albert Hall performance

Dua Lipa ’s everywhere at the moment – and we’re not mad about it.

The award-winning British pop star is releasing her third studio album Radical Optimism on May 3, and has been duly building up to it for the last seven months. She started by posting teaser images and clips on her Instagram back in October last year, before November’s mega-announcement that new music was in the works.

Since then we’ve had a barrage of Dua content: we’ve been treated to clubby singles Houdini and Training Season, a pair of stellar performances at the Grammys and the Brits, a flurry of magazine cover interviews and chat show appearances, and the announcement of a summer tour – half of which is already sold out – that includes a headlining stop at Glastonbury and a closing performance at the Royal Albert Hall in October.

The tickets for the London performance go on sale in two days. Here’s everything you need to know to prep for the big sale.

When will tickets go on sale?

General sale tickets will go on sale at 10am on 12 April – ie. this Friday morning. Find your tickets via  Ticketmaster  – according to the Royal Albert Hall there will only be “a very limited allocation of tickets” available to buy via their box office.

Other things to note: there’s going to be a limit of two tickets per booking, and no under 14 year olds will be allowed into the standing arena.

Is there a presale?

No – there’s no presale and there’s no priority booking for Friends & Patrons this time.

And for those with accessibility needs?

People who have accessibility needs will be able to get tickets from the Royal Albert Hall’s box office by calling 020 7589 8212.

Can you buy your tickets from any other place?

Yes, after the ticket sale has gone ahead, there will be resales but fans should only purchase these tickets through the Royal Albert Hall’s box office, through Twickets or other approved agents. Find more clarification on their website here .

Dua Lipa announces Tove Lo, Griff and Angèle as support on UK and European tour

The uk leg of the 'future nostalgia' tour will kick off in april next year.

Dua Lipa has announced that Tove Lo, Griff and Angèle will be the support acts on her 2022 UK and European tour.

The pop singers will hit the road next April for the ‘Future Nostalgia’ tour – also the name of Lipa’s second album.

The UK leg of the tour will kick off in Manchester next year, visiting Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow, Nottingham, Cardiff and Liverpool, rounded up by two shows at London’s O2 Arena.

Announcing the support acts on social media today (November 22), Lipa wrote: “Slowly making my way around the world and taking the girls with me: Griff , Tove Lo and Angèle. COME SEE US ON THE FUTURE NOSTALGIA TOUR.”

The European tour will start in Antwerp, Belgium in May, and finish up in Stockholm, Sweden the following month.

Before the UK tour starts the ‘Cold Heart’ singer will tour North American from February to April with Caroline Polachek and Lolo Zouaï as support, with Megan Thee Stallion set to perform as a special guest at the Denver, Tulsa, and Phoenix shows.

The singer has faced a number of touring delays due to the pandemic, with the UK tour originally due to start in May 2020 before being pushed back three times.

Elsewhere, it was recently announced that Lipa’s team, TaP Music, is set to work with the BBC to choose the UK’s entry for the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest .

The singer expressed her support for the change: “I’m a proud Brit whilst also being a proud Kosovan. I’m happy to lend my manager to the cause. I’ll be cheering them on!”

Eurovision royalty ABBA also suggested that they would write the next UK entry if Dua Lipa was to sing it.

ABBA ‘s Andersson told BBC Breakfast earlier this month (November 5): “Picking an act is one thing, writing a song is different. So you need both a great song and a good act.”

When the BBC asked the Swedish hitmakers, who rose to fame after winning the competition in 1974 with ‘Waterloo’, if they would consider writing the UK entry, Andersson said: “Oh, a UK entry? I don’t know.”

Ulvaeus replied “No” when Andersson turned to him.

But then Andersson said: “But what’s the risk? You can’t be worse than last”, to which Ulvaeus replied: “No, but it needs to be a really good act to write for, yeah.”

Andersson then suggested, smiling: “Dua Lipa”, to which, his bandmate agreed: “Yes.”

I hope she reads this. SO lemme spill the tea. It was freaking amazing. I was so close I could see ever pore on her, and lemme tell you there isn’t many. She’s so amazing and I felt the show ran pretty smoothly except for the fact that it was very hot and everyone around you was sweating their ass off. But she was great. Best night of my life seeing the love of my life. She was so good and it was so beautiful if she ever were to return I would be there in a heart beat. Though the initial show was cancelled I wasn’t one bit mad after attending this one and it was really nice that my old tickets still were valid. Thanks dua, love you lots. -your biggest fan:)

It was the most lit concert i had ever attended. Dua was so full of life & super hyped for the whole concert. Im still upset that yesterday had come to an end way too soon. The most memorable memory i had was the moment she teared uo in her speech for 'New Love' as that song was way too genuine and its from the most vulnerable side of hers. The next memorable moment was the participation in 'IDGAF'the crowd was so wild, and Dua also had a moment with us when she remixed the sentence 'I dont give a F' like amazing man this is the most mesmerising concert i had ever attended. I love you Dua. (heartsheartshearts)

Oh, wow. Dua Lipa was absolutely fantastic! She is extraordinarily talented and really knows how to work a crowd. The band was brilliant — and I can say it was definitely loud enough!

I was very lucky to see her at a venue such as the Apollo. Such a small venue for somebody doing an arena tour! We got the tickets very early on, before she became massive, and I’m very glad we did.

The whole way home I was smiling. The last song — New Rules — set the place on fire, that last chorus was insanely good, and all complete with confetti canons!

Thank you for the time, Dua Lipa! Money well-spent; it was worth every second!

Dua Lipa is a master escape artist. In her nu-disco bop “Houdini,” she sings about someone with so little patience for superficial gestures that she’ll vanish if a potential suitor doesn’t go above and beyond. In the cavernous LA studio where we met in February, Lipa performs a different sort of disappearing act — which is to say, she materializes very suddenly when it’s time for us to chat, and, 45 minutes later, is gone just as abruptly. Her swift appearance and retreat shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who has followed her frenetic pace over the past few years. Yes, Lipa is a global superstar who has had five Top 10 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and appeared in last year’s most successful movie, but her output has only been possible because she makes use of every minute. The human being behind the hype seems to have a plan for everything — since the beginning of her career, she has taken a 24-hour day and stretched it out like taffy, carefully examining next steps and turning ideas into action. Lipa’s deliberate approach to her work tracks with what she told TIME with a grin in 2017: “ I’d like to take over the world… If I could .” The Dua Lipa from that interview is noticeably younger and more eager — an early 20-something on the verge of massive commercial success, thanks in part to her hooks-packed self-titled debut album, which housed gleaming electro-pop tracks such as “IDGAF,” “New Rules,” and “Be the One.” Lipa, now 28, is more composed but no less enthusiastic about the year ahead, which includes the May 3 release of Radical Optimism, her much-hyped third studio album. After all, she’s been manifesting it for seven years — perhaps even longer. “ Since I was very little, I’ve jotted down things I dreamt for myself ,” the English-Albanian singer and songwriter says in an interview after her TIME100 cover shoot. “ I’ve always planned ahead. Although surprises arise that I evaluate in the moment, there’s always a long-term goal .” Sitting with her legs crossed in a black Jacquemus minidress, her red-tinted hair falling in loose waves around her face, Lipa speaks precisely, carefully considering each question before answering. Pop stars, especially those with incredibly successful careers, are often accused of being calculating. But in person, Lipa comes across as intensely thoughtful, whether she’s revealing what’s in store on Radical Optimism or sharing travel tips (pack light, bring books) and, in keeping with her one-time modeling career, poised. “ It’s important to just write things down ,” she says. “ You never know what could come true .” Does Lipa believe in the power of manifestation? Absolutely. “ Manifesting is a big thing for me ,” she admits. “ I stand very firmly in the belief of putting things into the world. Subconsciously, you just work towards them. Nothing’s ever too big .” Though Lipa chuckles at her younger self declaring her plans to take over the world, it’s hard to deny her stratospheric rise. Lipa was born in London in 1995 to Kosovo-Albanian parents Anesa and Dukagjin Lipa, who left Pristina as refugees in the early ‘90s. When Lipa was 11, her family moved back to Kosovo — a few years later, Lipa would persuade her parents to allow her to return to London to pursue a career in music. While attending theater school as a teenager, Lipa started uploading covers to YouTube and SoundCloud, juggled restaurant and nightclub server gigs, and signed with a modeling agency. In 2013, Lipa got her first job singing — a version of Sister Sledge’s “Lost in Music” for a televised X Factor ad — which led to a publishing deal with TaP Music, and later, a record deal with Warner Bros. (Lipa left TaP’s artist roster in 2022, and bought her publishing rights back last fall.) Lipa’s glimmering debut single, “New Love,” dropped in 2015, and was quickly followed up by the rhythmic “Be the One.” She rolled out more singles — “Hotter Than Hell” and “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” — plus a dynamic collaboration with Sean Paul (“No Lie”) in 2016. By summer 2017, Lipa would finally unveil her self-titled studio debut. Following the success of Dua Lipa, which earned her five nominations at the 2018 Brit Awards (she won British Breakthrough Act and British Female Solo Artist), Lipa unleashed her critically acclaimed 2020 homage to disco, Future Nostalgia, a shimmering, modernist take on the ‘70s genre which won her the Brit Award for British Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Lipa’s success led to her involvement in Barbie. Her jubilant “Dance the Night,” which she co-wrote with Mark Ronson, soundtracks a pivotal scene in Greta Gerwig’s box-office smash. (The film also features a cameo from the pop singer as mermaid Barbie.) Earlier this year, Lipa appeared in the spy thriller Argylle, where she plays a Bond-esque villain named LaGrange. “ I loved being on set ,” Lipa says. “ I love the idea of embodying a different character and having an assignment. I also love when I go to a photo shoot, and I can completely change up my look. It gives me like a different persona .” Lipa, who was granted Albanian citizenship in 2022, also speaks passionately about her dual heritage, as well as the importance of Kosovo getting its visa liberalization, which allows nationals to travel freely around Europe’s borderless zone. “ I’m from two places at the same time ,” she says. “ Being from Kosovo is just such a big part of who I am, and getting my Albanian citizenship was really exciting .” “ For a population in Kosovo, where over 50% is under 25 years old, it’s one of the youngest populations in Europe, ” Lipa continues. “ The opportunity to be able to travel freely is really important. There are all these kids who have big dreams and hopes and want to be able to move around, travel, and explore. They want to evolve and grow and hope that maybe they can be heard and seen in a different way. Now that their passports mean something, it feels really good .” To honor her roots, Lipa is equally committed to shifting how her Western fanbase might perceive countries like Kosovo and Albania. “ When people think about Kosovo, I don’t want them to be like, ‘Oh, war-torn Kosovo.’ There’s so much more to it ,” she says. “ We do a festival in Pristina, me and my dad, that’s about getting people from all over the world to come down and see how different it is to what they expect — whether that’s artists from all around the world, or fans that come in to see artists they love from neighboring countries. I know when I was living in Kosovo, none of my favorite artists were coming there. It is my biggest dream to be able to bring that to the kids there .” To be a pop star — or any famous person in 2024 — requires diversification. On top of music and “ little baby roles ,” as she calls them, Lipa also moonlights as a journalist; Dua Lipa: At Your Service was named one of the Best Podcasts of 2022 by Spotify and features a who’s-who of celebrity guests from a variety of fields, from pop contemporary Billie Eilish to relationship guru Esther Perel. Meanwhile, Lipa launched a book club and lifestyle newsletter, Service95, in early 2022. (She name-checks Patrick Radden Keefe’s Say Nothing: A True Story of Murder and Memory in Northern Ireland as a recent favorite.) For the time being, however, Lipa’s primary focus is getting her third album out the door. Naturally, she envisioned what it would sound like years in advance. “ I remember when I was working on my first album, I was making notes on what my third album was going to be ,” Lipa says. “ It’s mad to think about, but I remember speaking to my close friend and A&R Joe [Kentish], ‘Maybe album three, I could work with [Tame Impala’s] Kevin Parker,’ and he was like, ‘Alright, hold your horses, let’s take baby steps.’ ” Lipa’s theory at the time was that if her first two albums were well received, “ maybe I’d be deserving to be in a room with an artist I so deeply admire and look up to .” Not only is Tame Impala’s Parker a producer on the 11-track project, but Lipa assembled a tight-knit team of alt/indie-pop luminaries, including longtime co-writer Caroline Ailin, Danny L Harle, and Tobias Jesso Jr., to be in the studio with her. “ The record as a whole is more mature ,” Lipa shares of her latest work, which features the singles “Houdini,” “Training Season,” and “Illusion.” Describing the album as being heavily inspired by ‘80s Scottish rockers Primal Scream and famed English trip-hop collective Massive Attack (a noted divergence from the mirrorball-spinning Future Nostalgia), she continues: “ I’m definitely not the same person I was when I wrote my first album. I’ve evolved and learned so much… taking it as it comes, not seeing anything as bad or something as a setback. That involves a lot of growing and understanding myself, knowing my worth, whether it be in business, love, or friendship. “ I’m just a different person, so of course this record is going to be different ,” Lipa muses on leaning into new sonic territory. “ I have different thoughts, wants, needs, and perspectives. I’ve done a 180 on myself… I feel the most confident at this point in my life .” The confidence is paying off, especially as she’s recently launched Radical22, an independent media and management company, which signed a global publishing administration deal with Warner Chappell Music. “I’ve been planting seeds for my other endeavors my whole life,” Lipa says. “ It’s a way for me to be able to show everyone other sides to who I am. I love my music career and the fact that it gives me so much opportunity for expression. But it’s not the only thing I am .”

Dua Lipa has released ‘Illusion,’ the third single from her upcoming album ‘Radical Optimism.’ In addition to the main track, the release includes an extended version, an instrumental version, and an acoustic version. The song was written by Dua, Danny L. Harle, Kevin Parker (of Tame Impala), Caroline Ailin, and Tobias Jesso Jr, with Harle and Parker serving as album producers. The music video was also released:

Dua Lipa has caused controversy among fans by performing today at McDonald’s Worldwide Convention, private event for McDonald’s franchisees, suppliers, crew members, and employees from across the globe, at Palau Sant Jordi sports arena in Barcelona.

McDonald’s is on the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement’s list of companies which ought to be boycott, as it is “ profiting from the Genocide of the Palestinian people .” It goes against Dua’s activism in supporting Palestine and wanting to bring an end to the genocide against its people. Dua and other bands and artists performing at the event seem to have kept a low profile about their appearance, though fans in attendance have been sharing some footage.

Dua performed multiple songs, including ‘Break My heart,’ ‘Cold Heart,’ ‘New Rules,’ ‘Training Season,’ ‘Physical,’ ‘One kiss,’ ‘Houdini,’ ‘Levitating,’ and ‘Don’t Stop Now.’

I always double cleanse, I love moisturising masks – anything with hyaluronic acid catches my attention – and I’ll never leave the house without SPF. Moisturisers and face creams are typically the products I go through quickest. My preference is something lightweight that won’t clog my pores. Biggest Beauty Regret? I don’t know why I did it, but I used to put mascara on my eyebrows. I think the thought process was trying to cheat a tinted brow gel before they were a thing. Now I keep things pretty minimal with just a clear brow gel to shape and keep the hairs in place. Self-Care Rituals? Magnesium is a secret weapon of mine. This, along with a silk face mask, puts me straight to sleep. I also use a lot of Epsom salt baths – especially after dance rehearsals to heal my muscles and relax. Pre-Show Rituals? It’s lots of tea followed by vocal and dance warm-ups – and just hanging out with my dancers to get each other hyped up for the show. I do think movement is so important. Yoga helps me re-centre and feel more present, which always shifts my energy into a more positive place. After that, it’s pretty much just keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best. Best Spot For A Night Out In London? This may surprise people, but I don’t tend to go out that much, but I do love a night at Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone. My drink order is always a dirty martini. Favourite Red-Carpet Look? I really loved my look at the Grammys this year. I wore a Courrèges dress which had an amazing deep V-neck and this really cool metallic finish. It’s so fun to experiment with different looks at events like this. Advice To Your Younger Self? Honestly, I would tell myself I’ve got this and not to worry so much about everything. When it comes to beauty, it would be that less is more – especially with skincare. We always wonder why our skin’s better in the summer and it’s because we strip things right back. This winter, I actually went back to my summer rituals to keep things simple and it’s been such a game-changer.

Meanwhile, Little Mix’s Perrie has got her solo career off to a strong start with “Forget About Us” (Columbia). It’s new at No. 6 on the Official Chart Update, and could give the British pop artist the top debut for the week. As a member of Little Mix, Perrie has five U.K. No. 1 singles, 19 top 10s and 32 top 40 appearances.

Another chart superstar is close behind, Dua Lipa. The pop singer’s “Illusion” (Warner Records) starts at No. 7 on the Official Chart Update, and should give Lipa a third consecutive top 10 single from her forthcoming album Radical Optimism , due out May 3 , and 16th across her career.

U.S. pop singer and actor Sabrina Carpenter could ride a caffeine rush to her first-ever top 10 appearance with “Espresso” (Island). It pours into the chart blast at No. 10. Carpenter has three career top 40 appearances in the U.K., with a best of No. 19 for 2023’s “Feather.”

Finally, Manchester chart heavyweights Oasis could return to the top 40 with “Supersonic” (Big Brother). The Rock Hall nominated group’s debut single this year celebrates its 30th anniversary, and currently sits at No. 14. That’s well up on its peak position of No. 31 following its release back in 1994.

All will be revealed when the Official U.K. Singles Chart is published Friday, April 19.

Dua Lipa says she’s been planning for ‘Radical Optimism’ since before her debut album

The singer also says her new album is "more mature" than her previous records

Dua Lipa has revealed that she has been planning for her upcoming album ‘Radical Optimism’ since before she released her debut record.

Speaking to Time Magazine for a new profile, the ‘Don’t Start Now’ singer opened up about ‘Radical Optimism’, which is due for release on May 3 ( pre-order/pre-save here ). During her chat with the publication, she revealed that she believes in manifestation, saying: “Manifesting is a big thing for me. I stand very firmly in the belief of putting things into the world. Subconsciously, you just work towards them. Nothing’s ever too big.”

This translates to her upcoming record, which she says she’s been thinking about for a long time – dating back to her 2017 self-titled debut album, to be exact.

“I remember when I was working on my first album, I was making notes on what my third album was going to be,” Lipa said to Time Magazine . “It’s mad to think about, but I remember speaking to my close friend and A&R Joe [Kentish], ‘Maybe album three, I could work with [ Tame Impala’s ] Kevin Parker ,’ and he was like, ‘Alright, hold your horses, let’s take baby steps.’”

Lipa also thought at the time that if her first two records were well-received, then “maybe I’d be deserving to be in a room with an artist I so deeply admire and look up to.”

Dua Lipa also shared that ‘Radical Optimism’ will showcase her growth: “The record as a whole is more mature. I’m definitely not the same person I was when I wrote my first album. I’ve evolved and learned so much… taking it as it comes, not seeing anything as bad or something as a setback. That involves a lot of growing and understanding myself, knowing my worth, whether it be in business, love, or friendship.”

“I’m just a different person, so of course this record is going to be different,” she added. “I have different thoughts, wants, needs and perspectives. I’ve done a 180 on myself … I feel the most confident at this point in my life.”

Dua Lipa most recently released the album’s third single, ‘Illusion’ . She dropped the album’s first single ‘Houdini’  in early November last year, followed by  ‘Training Season’ , which she  debuted at the Grammys earlier this year .

Last month,  it was confirmed that Lipa will headline Glastonbury 2024 alongside Coldplay and  SZA . She is reportedly  set to capture her visit to Worthy Farm for a new documentary film .

She also announced a one-off concert at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London  for this autumn, as well as  a run of European shows for this summer .

Dua Lipa continues the no-trousers trend in Illusion video

The singer is embracing the catwalk trend off-duty, on the red carpet and in her music videos

In a preview released on Instagram this week for her new song 'Illusion', Lipa is pictured in a number of revealing outfits including a black leotard, a sheer red dress over a bikini and a black lace ensemble with tiny shorts. The video was shot at the site of the Olympic swimming pool in Barcelona, and features her dancers wearing sporty shorts and white vest tops.

Of course, a music video is always an opportunity to push the boundaries of fashion, but the trouser-less trend has spread onto the catwalks and into street style over the past few seasons – and is one that the singer has committed to on a number of occasions, including on the red carpet and off-duty.

Aside from Lipa, a number of A-listers have embraced it too, including Kendall Jenner, who teamed black knickers with tights for a run to the farmer's market , Hailey Bieber, who wore an oversized leather jacket with pants, and Amelia Gray, who wore knickers with Uggs. Kristen Stewart meanwhile has made the no-trousers trend her signature during the press tour for Love Lies Bleeding , wearing a series of teeny, tiny shorts and leotards both on and off the red carpet.

Much of this has trickled down from the catwalk, of course, with Miu Miu leading the charge with its bedazzled knickers, but Mugler, Chloé, Gucci and Stella McCartney have all also shown teeny, tiny shorts or pants in one form or another in their most recent collections.
