Did you know that the UK holds the world record for the largest fish caught by rod and line? In 1992, a 500-pound, thirteen-foot-long tuna was caught off the coast of Scotland. It was appropriately named “Monster Fish.” (Source: Guinness World Records)

Why take the risk of drowning when you can just wear a life jacket and look like a fashionable marshmallow?

Life Jacket and Buoyancy Aid

When heading out for sea fishing near Dawlish, safety should always be a top priority. One of the most crucial safety measures is wearing a life jacket or buoyancy aid. Here’s what you need to know about them:

  • Ensure the life jacket or buoyancy aid fits properly and comfortably .
  • Invest in a high-quality and durable product that suits your needs.
  • Check for approved certification standards such as CE, ISO, or SOLAS.
  • Wear it at all times , especially if you’re fishing alone or during rough weather conditions.
  • Make sure it has reflective strips for better visibility at night.
  • If using an inflatable life jacket, remember to regularly check and maintain it according to manufacturer’s instructions .

Additionally, consider the weight capacity and type of activities you’ll be doing while on the boat. Don’t forget to educate yourself or attend a training session on how to properly use the device.

It’s worth noting that investing in a life jacket can make all the difference in survival in emergency situations. A true story shared by fisherman John shows how his life was saved when he fell overboard but was wearing his trusted and well-maintained life jacket. It may not seem like much now, but taking these extra precautions can ultimately save your life.

Always check the weather forecast before sea fishing near Dawlish – unless you enjoy sailing through storms and singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’.

Knowing the Weather Forecast

Planning a sea fishing trip near Dawlish can be an exciting experience. But, in order to ensure your safety, it is crucial to keep a close eye on the weather forecast. The information you receive from the forecast can make or break your trip.

As water temperatures fluctuate throughout the seasons, it’s important to have an idea of what kind of weather you will encounter while out at sea. High winds, intense rain, and hazardous wave conditions can all pose a risk; therefore, keeping tabs on the forecasted weather activity is essential.

In addition, check for any updates about tidal patterns and strong currents before setting out. Knowing these details beforehand will help you avoid getting caught up in dangerous situations.

Despite taking all the necessary precautions, sometimes things simply don’t go according to plan. One angler reported being caught off guard by unexpected storms that ended up damaging their boat and requiring them to be rescued by local authorities. This incident only goes to show how vital good planning and monitoring of the weather forecast can be while out fishing at sea near Dawlish.

Don’t venture into the ‘no-fishing’ zone unless you want to catch a seagull instead of a fish.

Avoiding Dangerous Areas

Sea fishing near Dawlish can be exciting, but without proper safety measures in place, danger can lurk. One of the important aspects of safe sea fishing is avoiding dangerous areas.

  • Before venturing out to sea, familiarize yourself with the local waters and consult with experienced fishermen.
  • Use up-to-date charts and tide tables and always heed weather reports.
  • Stay away from rocky outcrops and headlands where waves break fiercely.
  • Avoid commercial shipping lanes or areas marked by buoys or signs indicating danger.
  • Keep a safe distance from other boats to avoid potential collisions
  • Do not fish in restricted areas or marine reserves.

It is also important to take note of any underwater obstacles that could cause injury or damage to your boat. It is advisable to use a depth finder to survey the area for sandbanks, reefs and submerged rocks.

Lastly, always be prepared for unexpected situations by carrying safety equipment like life jackets, flares and a first-aid kit.

In 2018, two fishermen encountered danger after their boat capsized off Teignmouth coast. They were not wearing life jackets nor were they aware of the weather conditions. Fortunately, they were able to call for help before being rescued by the RNLI. It serves as a reminder that being knowledgeable about the local waters and taking necessary precautions are crucial when it comes to sea fishing near Dawlish.

If someone gets hooked, don’t panic – just reel them in slowly and apply a generous amount of whiskey to ease the pain.

Emergency Procedures and First Aid

When out sea fishing near Dawlish, emergency situations can arise at any point in time. Hence, it is essential to be prepared with emergency procedures and first aid. Here’s a six-step guide to follow during an emergency :

  • Seek medical help immediately by calling 999, giving your location and the nature of the emergency.
  • Administer first aid if trained to do so.
  • Move the casualty to a safe place away from danger.
  • Keep the casualty warm and comfortable.
  • Do not leave the casualty alone or give them anything to drink or eat.
  • Follow medical advice given by healthcare professionals.

It’s important to remember that when it involves a marine rescue, always call HM Coastguard on 999 .

Another essential aspect of responding to emergencies is being familiar with basic first aid skills such as CPR, treating injuries like wounds and fractures, and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) . Keep a fully stocked first-aid kit on board and ensure that everyone knows its location in case of need.

Pro Tip: Always check the weather forecast before setting sail as this can reduce the chances of locating yourself in dangerous conditions.

Fishing Trips and Charters

Welcome to tiger charters, tiger charters will be operating trips and charters in summer 2022, keep an eye on our website and facebook page for more information soon., please feel free to send an email to [email protected] to register your interest and we will come back to you when schedules are available..

We operate out of EXMOUTH, on the East Devon coast.  It's an easy place to get to, just 8 miles from junction 30 of the M5, making it accessible from places like Taunton, Bristol, Birmingham, even St Austell in Cornwall is only 90 minutes away. It's a popular tourist destination too, and we welcome tourists, day visitors and locals alike on our fishing trips.  Exmouth has 2 miles of sandy beaches, so its an excellent location for family holidays. It does, however, give us a sand bar to navigate around so prompt departure times are a necessity.  We ask our customers to be on time PLEASE.

We fish in Lyme Bay which stretches from Start Point near Dartmouth in the west to the Isle of Portland in the east.  It's a big area so we don't claim to fish all of the bay, just the spots that are accessible from Exmouth to give you some decent time for fishing.  Lyme Bay was used by marine traffic during World War 1 so there are many wrecks lying on the sea bed, unfortunate victims of war, and now home to our local sea life.

Our boat TIGER operates regularly between April and November - weather permitting.  We are fully insured, and coded by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency ( MCA ), who ensure that we carry all the safety equipment necessary for your safety at sea.

TIGER is a 10.5 meter (35 foot) Offshore 105 powered by an FPT 480hp engine.  She carries up to 10 passengers, so no overcrowding, and there is seating for everyone on deck.  In the wheelhouse you can find GPS, sonar, radar, radios, and the skipper, Paul.  TIGER also has a toilet, and carries hot water and even a microwave for extra comfort on longer journeys. We carry tea and coffee as standard, and sometimes soups. Please feel free to bring your own beverages and food.  Don't forget, with the microwave you can warm up pasties, pies, noodles, or any number of foods, so come prepared!

You can book onboard in two ways.  Either as an individual(s) on our TRIPS which are scheduled throughout the season.  Or you can book the whole boat as a CHARTER.  We carry 10 people max on either trip or charter.

TIGER regularly operates our core TRIPS -  6 hour Inshore Fishing and 8 hour Offshore Fishing.  During the (hopefully) warmer weather we will also be running some 10 hour trips.

Got a group?  With seating for all, TIGER is also suitable for CHARTERS.

If you fancy something a bit different, like a bit of fishing then lunch in Brixham, then simply phone us and we'll give you a quote.

Please note, though, that we cannot guarantee you catching fish at any time - that's why its called fishing and not catching!

About the town:

Dawlish beach

This traditional seaside town, with its interesting early Victorian and classic Regency style, is centred around The Lawn, a spacious open green which has a pretty brook running through it. Home to an interesting variety of wildlife, it’s the place to look out for the famous black swans with their deep orange-red beaks, gliding along the river as well as being a good spot to bring everybody together for a picnic in the sun. Take a stroll along the brook, where children will delight in spotting fluffy ducklings at the hatchery.

Black swan and chick

The beach is just a short walk from the centre of the town, so popping in for lunch after an energetic morning of swimming and sandcastle building is easy. Take a browse around the shops before heading back to the sands as there are lots of interesting little places to pick up a souvenir or two.

The history:

Steam train leaving Dawlish

Dawlish has a fascinating fishing and railway history which you will encounter as you explore the town. The first inhabitants of the area were fishermen as well as salt makers, and this, alongside the agricultural industry, continued through Roman times. As with many seaside towns, the addition of a railway transformed the town’s destiny, bringing visitors to experience a little sea air. It was first constructed as part of the Atmospheric Railway which used pumping stations and pipes, and though it was later abandoned for being too expensive, you can still see the pumping stations and other artefacts both along the railway line and in local museums.

The beaches:

Aerial view of Dawlish Warren

Dominated by majestic cliffs and rows of colourful houses, the main stretch of sand in the area, Dawlish Town Beach is an excellent spot to have a family day out or just to escape for a couple of hours with a book. With a promenade running directly behind it, it’s easily accessed from the town. Railway tracks run behind the beach, giving the area a magical vintage feel.

Get children to wave at the steam trains that go by, as many generations of little ones before them will have done. They’ll also love building sandcastles, exploring the craggy rock pools at low tide, as well as splashing about in the surf – all the things that really make a special seaside holiday. If you need somewhere to leave your buckets and spades, why not hire one of the colourful beach huts: just the place to change before heading into town for a bite to eat.

Row of colourful beach huts

Just 2 miles along the coast, Dawlish Warren Beach offers everything you could need from a beach. One and a half miles of sands backed by sheltered dunes, it currently has award-winning clean bathing water as well as lots of fun activities, such as go-karts, mini golf and a variety of water sports. The beach attracts the surfing crowd who come to ride its waves, but if that isn’t your thing, take a Sea Safari from nearby Teignmouth to discover the wonders of the South Devon coastline and its magnificent wildlife.

The nature :

Dawlish Warren

A haven for birdwatchers, Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve is a hugely important area for wildfowl and wading birds. As part of the Exe Estuary, it attracts thousands of birds who come to spend the winter as well as a multitude of nature lovers who come to watch them. The warren is internationally recognised as an important ecological site, with dunes and grassland being home to over 600 types of flowering plants, freshwater pools and woodland.

Ask for more information at the visitor centre, from where you can also access the best hides peppered throughout the area. See if you can spot a rare broad-billed sandpiper or stone curlew while there.

The outdoors:

Once you've had your fill of sitting still, you can’t beat the fantastic walks along the South West Coast Path , including eastwards towards Dawlish Warren and its fabulous beach and nature reserve. 2 miles on, you will see the town of Exmouth just across the Exe Estuary. Westwards, you can reach both Holcombe and Teignmouth on the Railway Walk, one of Britain’s most photographed stretches of railway line.

couple cycling

Cycling enthusiasts will love the routes in and around Dawlish. Off-roaders can cycle the 20 miles along the Exe Estuary Trail to Exmouth enjoying some of the most spectacular scenery of the south coast. If this all sounds like too much hard work, why not check out the scenery from a train? No ordinary route, the South Devon Railway Line from Exeter to Newton Abbot boasts stunning views of both the Exe Estuary and the South Devon coast. Running under the unique red cliffs and through a series of dramatic tunnels, it gives visitors the chance to see the area without having to move an inch.

The food and drink:

Whatever time of year you visit Dawlish, you’ll find somewhere to taste the local cuisine. Hot summer days will take you to one of the sweet ice cream parlours to sample some of the area’s famous ice creams and on cold winter afternoons, the town’s huge selection of tea rooms provide the perfect alternative to frozen treats. Have a scrumptious cream tea at A Piece of Cake or Old Mill Tea Rooms, both in Brunswick Place or head to The Strand to Daisy’s Tea Room, Sea Light , or The Strand Café for a huge slice of homemade cake and a steaming pot of tea.

You aren’t short of pubs in Dawlish, with The Landsdowne, The Brunswick Arms and The Marine Tavern all being popular choices. Dining options include some great fish and chip restaurants, usually on The Strand or Park Road. If you want to do it properly, take some local fish and chips wrapped up in newspaper down to the seafront and enjoy them with a taste of the salty sea air.

The accommodation:

We have a great selection of Dawlish holiday cottages in and around both Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. Fishing around Dawlish

  • Add to quote

Hi I am off to Dawlish next week and wondered what the fishing was like down there at the moment, last year when I went there was a lot of bloom and the fishing was not good. Also any tips where to go and advice of bait/tackle shops would be good, didn't get a lot of fishing =g in down there last year so looking for some general advice. Thanks

Hello mate, can't say ive enjoyed much luck there. Past few years ive been down there for a break ive always had a go at dawlish warren in a variety of spots wish not much to shout about. If you don't mind driving, give hopes nose in Torquay a go - Plenty of species from mackerel, wrasse, bass, smoothounds and ray or you could try Brixham but to be fair you'd be looking at mainly mini species there this time of year and a lot of fluff chuckers.

Rock Goby

'Take the Bait' in Dawlish is a decent tackle shop with good advice. The boulders towards red rock from Dawlish warren can throw up a few species and often plenty of mackerel over high water. Past red rock the end of Dawlish beach can be worth a chuck. Occasional smoothies , Bass on ledger, Bass and Macks spinning or float fishing.

Thanks mate, didn't have a lot of luck last year but put it down to the bloom, will have to see.

Thanks Rock Goby, did visit take the bait last year and they were helpful, will go and see what they have to say when I get down there.

if your traveling down along the m5 worth stopping at cullompton carp and coarse large range of frozzen and live baits andknowlegable helpfulll staff 1 min of the moterway , its worth trying teignmouth, pick up some live sand eel from back beach and try car park or into estuary

dawlish is really a flounder and schoolie area some good mullet too but far better places to try within a few miles

9 Best Beaches in Dawlish, Devon (2023 guide)

Are you looking for the best beaches in Dawlish? You’re in the right place – I live locally and these are my favourite sandy bays and hidden coves!

A gorgeous town sitting on the South Coast of Devon, Dawlish boasts a plethora of picturesque beaches, including the charming Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve.

There’s a town beach, and the sands extend all the way to Teignmouth.

Plus, there are plenty of beaches near Dawlish and Dawlish Warren, including Exmouth which is the start of the Jurassic Coast.

While there are a few other things to do in the town, Dawlish’s beaches are definitely among the best!

One of my favourite things about Dawlish is that it’s much quieter than a lot of other Devon locations – which usually translates to much more tranquil beaches!

I live in nearby Exmouth, and when our beaches get too busy, I know there will usually be space in Dawlish.

So check out my favourite Dawlish beaches in this post!

Table of Contents

Best Beaches in Dawlish

There are two beaches in Dawlish: Dawlish Town Beach and Dawlish Warren Beach. These are the closest to the town centre (as the name suggests, Dawlish town beach is just a short walk away) so are among the most convenient if you’re staying in the town. However, there are plenty of other beaches near Dawlish too!

Dawlish Town Beach

View of Dawlish beach, with houses behind the sea wall and the expansive sea stretching out in front.

How to get there: Walking distance from the town centre!

Dawlish Town Beach spans over a mile and a half, with sand dunes at the beginning, eventually leading to Dawlish Town.

The beach is expansive, with plenty of space to pop your towel on, even in the summer months!

With easy access to the town’s pubs, restaurants and cafes this is the perfect place for a beach day.

The GWR railway line runs alongside this charming beach, and it’s largely thought of as one of the most beautiful railway routes in the country .

Dawlish Warren Beach

How to get there: It’s a five-minute drive east or ten minutes on the train – if you want to walk, it’ll take just half an hour.

A popular beach for tourists, Dawlish Warren sits in the midst of a wildlife reserve and boasts an array of family-friendly attractions.

Dawlish Warren Beach

It actually is a prestigious blue flag, accredited for its clean water and safe swimming conditions. There is also lifeguard cover in the summer months.

This makes it one of the best family beaches in the region!

It’s also worth visiting Funder Park , with lots of rides and attractions for kids.

Beaches near Dawlish

You’ll need to drive, hike or take the bus or train a short distance to check out these beaches near Dawlish, but Teignmouth, Shaldon, Exmouth and even the English Riviera are all not too far away. Dawlish is an excellent base to explore the River Exe and South Devon region, including some of its best sandy bays and hidden coves!

Teignmouth Town Beach

How to get there: It’s a 10 minute drive or just four minutes by train! You could also walk between Teignmouth and Dawlish, which takes about an hour.

Teignmouth Town Beach is really easy to reach from Dawlish; you can either take the train or do the Dawlish to Teignmouth coast walk along the railway wall.

Teignmouth town beach, with golden sands, groynes and the blue water in the distance

Beach goers can enjoy a 1.8 mile stretch of sand with a Victorian Pier. There aren’t many activities, but it’s possible to swim.

It’s definitely one of the best things to do in Teignmouth .

Teignmouth Back Beach

Teignmouth Back Beach (also called Teignmouth River Beach) is a small estuary beach with views over to nearby Shaldon.

Teignmouth back beach, with boats bobbing on the river estuary

How to get there: Drive or take the train, and then walk to Teignmouth Back Beach.

This is where the Teignmouth to Shaldon ferry departs from, and as it’s estuary-located and is a working river beach, it’s not suitable for swimming.

However, it’s worth visiting to take in the traditional scenery and get a slice of local Teignmouth life!

Read about the best Teignmouth beaches here!

Shaldon Beach

Red sands of Shaldon Beach with boats lining the back. It's river beach, so there are views across to Teignmouth.

How to get there: Drive to Shaldon (15 minutes) or take the 22 bus which serves the town.

Sitting opposite Teignmouth Back Beach, Shaldon Beach is another small patch of sand with working fishing boats, with some restaurants and pubs behind it.

Again, it’s not suitable for swimming, but it’s a pleasant spot to picnic!

Ness Cove Beach

View of Ness Cove Beach, one of the best Teignmouth Beaches with red cliffs and the blue waves on the left.

How to get there: Drive to Shaldon (15 minutes) and find the smuggler’s tunnel by the Shaldon Wildlife Trust, or take the 22 bus to Shaldon and walk from there.

Ness Cove Beach is my favourite in the area.

Located close to Shaldon, it’s a really unique place to visit because it’s only accessible via smuggler’s tunnel.

Built in the 1860s by the 8th Lord Clifford of Chudleigh, it was apparently only made to give access to the beach.

The current Lord Clifford has stressed that it wasn’t used for smuggling, although Ness Cove Beach is known to have been a smuggler’s haven in the past!

Nowadays, it’s very tranquil, and due to the fact that it’s harder to get to than other beaches in the area, it’s often quite here than other beaches in South Devon.

Holcombe Beach

How to get there: it’s a half-hour walk, five minute drive, or the 2 or 22 bus will take you most of the way.

Holcombe Beach is a tiny, isolated beach tucked in the cliffs between Dawlish and Teignmouth.

This patch of golden sand is a very little-known secret, but it’s worth heading to if you’re in the area and the other bays are too busy!

Exmouth Beach

Orcombe point, Exmouth beach on the Jurassic coast of Devon, UK

How to get there: take the train from Dawlish to Starcross and then hop on the ferry over the Exe for a day of fun in Exmouth! Direct trains are also available.

The enormous sandy beach in the seaside town of Exmouth sits opposite the Exe Estuary to Dawlish Warren.

While the entry to the River Exe is very narrow – just 200m across at its narrowest – it’s impossible to cross it by car or foot (although people have enquired about whether it would be!).

However, there is another way to get there – the Starcross to Exmouth ferry.

You can take the train or drive from Dawlish to Starcross, a small village on the banks of the River Exe.

From here, a passenger ferry takes you to Exmouth Marina. If you’ve drove, you’ll have to leave your car at Starcross.

The good news is that you can walk from Exmouth Marina to Exmouth Beach easily, and even hike to Orcombe Point , the start of the Jurassic Coast if you desire (and even follow the South West Coast Path to Budleigh)!

Orcombe Point Near Exmouth in Devon

Exmouth Beach is a huge, two-mile-long expanse that marks both the end of the Exe Estuary and start of the Jurassic Coast.

A family-friendly beach, there are rides like swing boats, fish and chip restaurants, ice cream shops and rock pools.

You can even take a walk around The Maer, a surprisingly lush nature reserve with fascinating smuggling history.

Also, don’t miss watersports like paddleboarding – Exmouth’s known for them!

Check out all of the best things to do in Exmouth here , or take a look at all of the Exmouth Beaches here !

I live in Exmouth, and absolutely love the town, so I’d definitely recommend doing a day trip here if you’re staying in Dawlish.

Budleigh Salterton Beach

A photograph of Budleigh Salterton Beach in Devon

How to get there: you could drive around the Exe (45 minutes) or head to Exmouth and then take the 357 bus to Budleigh.

This beach is a bit further from Dawlish, but it’s worth adding to the list because, while it’s pebbly, it’s often much quieter than others in the region.

A beautiful place for a walk, Budleigh Salterton basks in gorgeous Jurassic Coast scenery, with stunning cliffs, and a few cafes right on the shore.

It’s also worth taking a stroll up the River Otter , which connects Budleigh Beach to Otterton – and beavers (not otters, it has nothing to do with the name!) actually live in the river!

It’s one of my favourite places in East Devon – and I’m a local!

Are you ready to check out the best Dawlish Beaches?

This selection of beaches in and around Dawlish has something for everyone!

Whether you’re looking for a place with watersport equipment or boat hire, somewhere with clean and calm waters to swim or a lovely beach that’s a bit more isolated, you’ll find it all nearby Dawlish!

A Weekend In Dawlish

A great coastal town for traditional seaside holidays, Dawlish has everything you could need for a fun-filled weekend away with family.

There are sandy beaches, plenty of attractions, walking and cycle routes, golf courses and more to see and do around Dawlish.

Things To Do In And Around Dawlish

The town has been a popular holiday destination for decades, with the stunning coast and top attractions making it an ideal location.

Read on to see some of our suggestions on how to fill a weekend in Dawlish with lots of fun things to do!

Morning round of golf

Starting your weekend off with a round of golf will set the mood for the rest of your mini-break.

At Dawlish Warren Golf Club , visitors are welcome any time, and there are often seasonal offers available.

A true links course located at the mouth of the Exe estuary, it is a challenge for golfers of all abilities.

The course has 18 of the finest greens in the South West and with breathtaking views, playing golf here is a wonderful experience – we have no doubt you’ll want to book a golf holiday to Dawlish afterwards!

Visit Dawlish’s art galleries

If you don’t fancy a round of golf, why not have a slow morning, tucking into breakfast at Langstone Cliff Hotel before heading into Dawlish’s town centre for some window shopping and to visit some of the art galleries in the town?

Dawlish has a few independent art galleries which exhibit and sell the work of local artists.

If you fancy taking home a unique souvenir to remember your time in South Devon, a piece of work from one of the galleries will be something extra special.

You may also want to check out the gift shops which can be found near The Lawn, a public park in the centre of the town.

Afternoon trip to the beach

In the afternoon, after a light lunch at one of Dawlish’s top cafés such as The Strand Café or Willos Café, heading to the beach to relax is a good way to spend your time.

Dawlish Town Beach is a short walk from the centre of the town, and its golden sands are perfect for families wanting to build sandcastles or couples who just want to lie back and sunbathe.

If you are visiting in the colder months, why not just walk along the beachfront?

You may want to extend the walk to Dawlish Warren Beach and the Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve, just under two miles away.

The beautiful sand dunes are a bird watcher’s paradise, and the nearly four-mile walk to Dawlish Warren and back is a lovely way to spend an afternoon, as the route on the South West Coast Path boasts spectacular views of South Devon’s coastline.

Drinks in a Devon pub

At Langstone Cliff, we offer evening meals between 6.45 and 9 pm, and we have our own stylish bar, but you may choose to dine out or have evening drinks elsewhere.

Dawlish has several family and dog-friendly pubs, serving delicious pub food and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

We recommend checking out Lansdowne or The Smugglers Inn.

Lansdowne is a good old fashioned pub, and The Smugglers Inn is a little out of town but the modern bar, carvery menu and sea view have made it a popular place with visitors and locals alike.

Explore nearby Teignmouth and Shaldon

Start your Sunday with a hearty breakfast at Langstone Cliff before heading down the coast to Teignmouth and Shaldon.

On opposite sides of the mouth of the River Teign, Teignmouth and Shaldon have plenty to offer visitors who are only visiting for a short time.

In Teignmouth, you could walk along the Victorian Pier and wander along the beaches.

Catch a ferry over to Shaldon and explore Homeyard’s Botanical Gardens.

From the gardens, there are views of the Teign Estuary to admire, and on clear days there are amazing views of the rugged Jurassic Coast.

The gardens themselves are worth your admiration too, with their secret garden, exotic plants, Italianate garden and floral terraces.

Afternoon tea

End your weekend with a traditional British pastime.

Afternoon tea is a delightful way to end your weekend and can be enjoyed by anyone.

There are a few places around Dawlish that offer afternoon tea, such as A Piece of Cake Tea Rooms and The Old Mill Tea Room, but you may be interested to know at Langstone Cliff Hotel, the comfortable public rooms are a perfect spot for tucking into afternoon tea.

There are several seating rooms to choose from, though teas can be served nearly everywhere in the hotel – just ask at the Lincoln Bar when ordering.

In the summer, it is lovely to sit out on the lawns or Verandah.

Afternoon teas include a selection of sandwiches, a scone, a selection of bite-sized cakes and tea or coffee.

If you don’t fancy a whole afternoon tea, Devonshire cream teas are also available. If you do choose the Langstone Cliff for afternoon tea, please book it a day before.
